Rebellion has today confirmed the release date for Sniper Elite V2 Remastered on Switch. It'll be available both digitally and physically on the same day as all other platforms, 14th May.
The news comes alongside a brand new trailer (which you can see for yourself above). Of course, Switch owners won't benefit from the 4K and HDR support, but the game is also said to feature "beautifully updated environments, characters, weapons and vehicles, modernised rendering and post-processing effects, enhanced texturing and level geometry, a revamped lighting system" and more.
In addition to these visual upgrades, Sniper Elite V2 Remastered introduces a brand new frame-by-frame photo mode, seven new playable characters from Rebellion’s Zombie Army series, multiplayer for up to 8 players online, and all the additional content ever released for the game.
It'll become available to pre-purchase on the Switch eShop from 24th April, with pricing set at £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99; a 10% discount will be available before launch.
Are you looking forward to picking this one up? Remember that Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition is on the way this year, too.

"Sniper Elite V2 Day 1 Patch is four times the size of the base game"
May is turning into a very expensive month. Saints row, TT race, assassins creed, Strangers wrath, now this ….
Remember UK folks, pre order at Smyths toys, and they give you a £5 discount, for collect in store.
neat, i'll look into getting this later down the road.
Its been far too long since I've played a military style game and this looks good. Plus the price is right. I will wait for reviews but I will pick this up at some point.
Is this digital only?
Pass. Good game on PS3, but I really have no desire to replay it.
This was a great return after the break since the original SE, however I found the ai to be really bad in the original release f v2 on PC, you just couldn’t use stealth, you be detected far too easily. I hope they’ve updated the ai to be more inline with v4, it was good in that version (and assuming v3 was an improvement also)
Decent game. But like 99% of the May release schedule on Switch. Just more Old games with zero desire of paying to play again 🙄
If wanted to play old games would just download the 3 Borderlands we just got free 4K remastered on Steam. Ill hold off for Mutant Year Zero on Switch in Jun.
Fun game... Bought it cheap on PS3... then WiiU... never quite finished it.
If they get the "motion controls" correct for precision aiming, it could work great on Switch... but the performance will probably suffer for a title like this running on Switch.

I think the Batman Arkham games are among the few to actually do stealth gameplay right, where it feels like an advantage rather than a detriment like it does in most other games.
Speaking of the Batman Arkham games, I'd love to see those released for the Switch. At least Arkham City, which is the best of the bunch in my opinion.
Will probably buy again....
@617Sqn not just may... look this month!
@Mountain_Man Would love that too. My favourite is still Asylum though. Actually took quite a bit for City to click for me, but when it did I really enjoyed it. Stopped playing Knight and traded it in. Only recently bought goty edition for my Xbox one (German import.) Going to give a play next bit of annual leave I take.
@617Sqn Perfect time for me. 2 weeks holiday coming up and I need some decent single player games. Sniper, Saints etc will help out.
Forgot about this. Decent price, I'll give it a go.
Can we get a cartridge?
@Mountain_Man I'd love to see the Arkham games on Switch, but I'd miss the Gamepad inplementation on Arkham City.
I'll get it later, Resident Evil 4 will be my birthday gift instead
It looks a lot like Call of Duty
And it has gyro motion aiming.
Even if I had played it, that would sell me again. But the fact is, I haven’t played it. So this is an absolute day 1
Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off the xray/kill-cam effects? I like sniping but I have to say, after seeking enough blood in real life that level of viscera and violence in a game is a turn off for me.
One of the most entertaining shooters ever invented, without question.
I already own the original version both physically on Xbox 360, and digitally on the Xbox One, but I'm seriously considering getting this updated version for the Switch. It's going to be a blast.
The appeal of literally shooting the balls off of your enemies is pretty strong. But I am remembering how I almost never used snipers during my middle school and high school years of FPS obsession. I was always more of the heavy machine gun "spray and pray" type.
Or in Halo in particular, I spammed rockets and grenades. In Halo 3 especially, even if you killed me, I probably left a sticky grenade on your butt or something and took you with me.
@Heavyarms55 You can still do some run and gun gameplay in this game at certain points in each level, but of course, that's not the aim of the game. And pulling off all the various x-ray shots is just SO satisfying...
And in some cases, hilariously funny, such as the shot you mentioned, but also the "two for one", where you line up two enemies to kill them with one shot, or the grenade belt kill, which makes a victim explode. Pretty useful when they're standing close together, or next to a vehicle. Vehicles, which by the way, you can also blow up by shooting the gas tank...
But at least there's several options for you to play with. You can also go all stealth with mines and wires, or grenades. And you always have secondary weapons such as handguns and automatic rifles, so within the confines of the game, you can certainly adapt it to a play style that you like.
It's not exactly like the Switch CAN'T output 4K HDR, it just wouldn't have a great time doing it.
Not while drawing a decent amount of frames and throwing around giant textures like these, at least.
What decent price on steam its 10$ and on eshop 32$ :/
@RyanSilberman hello did you know where i can order physical copy for this game i can't find it anywhere?
