Dont wanna sound overly negative. I preferred the s1 lauch. Botw was THE killer app for me. Something the S2 has been lacking. Cyberpunk is a pretty old game and not my cup of tea, altho I might give it a try one day if we ever get a similar discount as NA got, lol. MKW, I recently got it, think I played too much MK8. The intermission tracks are aweful imo. Bananza is ok, but I wouldnt say its fantastic or anything. Metroid4 is also just ok imo. Far from being a masterpiece. So yeah. Botw was the killer app back in the day imo.
If I didnt own a switch 1 alr or wasnt a fan, I probably would have bought a ps5.
2026, aside from maybe fire emblem, looks a bit bleak. Hope nintendo has a few aces up its sleave.

Wow! Nice to see a trails game at the top spot.
Nintendo first party titles have not been bad by any means but also not great if I am being honest. Hope 2026 is gonna be better. Fire Emblem could be nice and also the splatoon spin off, maybe. But I doubt at this point we will be seeing lots of innovative ideas.

Nintendo really dropped the ball on this one. Hope they learn from their mistakes and improve on the sequel. If I had paid full price the disappointment would be real...

@breach187 nah its fine. I just play as is. Besides I have heard you unlock the music after beating the game. Cant confirm yet, tho. Still tho, the hyrule desert is the weakest part of the game - even with music it would still be the weakest part. But putting music behind an amiibo is so bad its actually funny

Gave it a six. A good 6.5 if you will. Key cards are lame. And nintendo games haven't been too amazing to put it mildly.
The console itself is better than the s1 but thats to be expected after 8 years.
The pricing is bad but I can live with spending a bit more as I am buying less games than I used to. What bothers me is locking features besides amiibo, which I don't collect.
Honestly not too excited about the future of the console. The outlook for 2026 seems lackluster atm.

Preordered a while ago. Paid below 50eur for the s2 copy thanks to a black weeks campaign. If I had paid 70eur I would have cancelled my preorder and waited for a sale. Pretty sure this one will go down in price.

Tried the octo 1 demo back in the day. Didn't grab my attention. But I like the 2d art style

Based on the reviews I have read and seen I think this might be a solid 7.5.

Imo a 7.5 isn't necessarily a bad score. Seems like an ok/solid game that could have been much better. Maybe next time. If there is a next time.

I never played a Yakuza game but was thinking to give it a try now that its on switch. But with three games already out and the fourth one announced and probably more to come its getting a bit overwhelming. Too bad they didn't release a demo.

Expanding via acquisition seems like the right move to me. Games will take longer to develope and the more the merrier

Many people will disagree. Backwards compatibility is not an issue here, they just used the same stuff not the same game.

All metacritic complaints aside: how are we supposed to review a game? Swsh has less content than previous games (pokemon count as content) - is this a reason for a higher or lower score?
Racing games usually don't come with less tracks than their predecessors. Would they score higher if they did?
Could shsw have better graphics? Probably but pokemon isn't about graphics people say, so we can't really take that point into account for our score?

Tell me, what goes into a pokemon review score? The amount of fun a reviewer had while reviewing?

I think there should be certain guidelines which are valid for all games or at least shared between similar games. And previous games should also be taken into account.
If not we end up in a double morale situation where some games are treated harshly while others are praised for nothing.

The whole point is not about entitlement. Getting away means imo: offering less for the same price and succeeding without backlash.
Backlash is needed to tell the producers something was not ok in the hopes future products will be better.

That's wishful thinking. Look I understand you are mad because you feel a game that you love (or want to love) gets critisized and you feel this is unfair. Nintendo usually has it much easier to get way with stuff because their fanbase is the most loyal of them all but this time they have really screwed up. Welcome to the real world!

I think we all know, even if some won't admit it, this game is just a cash-in. I consider it disrespectful towards fans.
Think botw, a zelda masterpiece (not without haters) but most people will agree lots of effort and polish went into that game.
People expected a massive game on switch.
Let me ask you, how would you compare sun and moon with swsh? Taking into account hardware possibilities?
