The whole market is in trouble. Nintendo is in a good position tho, imo. As they have lest costly game development and almost guarantued sales. All they need is a new zelda and mario game, besides pokemon

@JohnnyMind right... Will wait and see how prices develope. So far there is only two games I am looking to buy, Persona 3 reload and Ff7 Remake. And with persona, maybe we get a royal edition in the future.
Btw, I have been playing the og ff7 recently. It holds up surprisingly well imo, or maybe its nostalgia, haha. Anyway, in the meantime I checked the ff7 remake demo and that experience was unreal. Brings back memories.
Thing I dont like about digital or GKCs the most is storage space. I cant imagine spending 70eur on a game and having to delete other games just because it requires 100gb of space. Ofc I could have opted for a tb card instead of 256gb but thats just adding more injury to insult

@Jack_Goetz could be. I am still undecided wether I should go GKC or digital, especially for games I dont intend to sell

@Discostew idk, this whole scenario is a bit ridiculous. But then again, I didnt know about the game at all before NL coverage. Doesnt change much for me tho, wouldnt buy it with or without censorship.

@MegaVel91 the graphics problem is indeed true. And thanks to unreal 5 we got less optimized games - or so I heard.
While I do not necessarily need high end graphics, they can be awesome. This week I tried FF7 remake and I while the game is alr a bit dated I guess it was an amazing experience. Defininitely one of those games that I wilk swallow the bitter game key card for

Ngl, I detest AI in general. However I do wonder how things will develope. Apparently AAA development is becoming unsustainable.

Personally I dont need nudity in a game and actually prefer if its not there at all.
But censorship is never a good thing. Just mention there is nudity or somesuch and let people decide if they wanna buy it or not.

Looked like ai glitches to me, sort of tearing or something, not sure whats it called. Happened when turning the character around. At least thats what I noticed.
Anyhow, thanks to the demo I realized the yakuza franchise is probably not for me

Nintendo fanbase is the most peculiar of them all imo. Personally I buy almost every nintendo 1st party game. Gotta be 1,2 switch or endless ocean for me not to buy it - or a mii game... The art style just doesnt do it for me. And I think thats fine. We just gotta accept there will be people who wont share the same sentiment.
Personally I would like to see another entry in the detectives club franchise - but Emio apparently didnt sell too well... Im not gonna hate on everyone who didnt buy it.

@VoidofLight from what I gather its been successful in Japan mostly. NA sales have been underwhelming afaik.
Imo the price tag is way too high, this should be $40 at most.

Pretty sure there is people who will freak out over any killing, form of nudity or use of magic. But you won't see these people starting discussions and trying to convert you over to their worldview.
Even though I am a traditional christian myself and rather lenient when it comes to entertainment I sometimes draw a line when I dont feel comfortable with playing a game. For example I didnt get any of the SMT games. But I wouldnt skip the dragon quest remakes because of type a/type b body types.

@Smithicus I guess its about priorities. NGL - my fancial situation has worsened substantially over the last year - and yet here I am buying switch games. Managed to snag Kirby air riders and Hyrule Warriors this week for about 40 eur each. Worst thing: I wasnt particularly interested in any of the two but they are on cardridge and the collector in me couldnt resist the price. In actuality I didnt save 60 eur (based on RRP) but I spent 80 eur which I could have used elsewhere.

Seeing tons of discounts recently. Managed to snag kirby air riders for 45eur today. Still thinking about hyrule warriors which is about the same price

I dont really care about delays. There is so many games in my backlog I don't even need to buy new games and probably play until I die, lol.
Its also kinda hard to get truly excited foe a game these days. Last game was metroid 4 - and that excitement quickly waned after it became known what has happened to the game.
Even this year, the only 1st party game I would think of to be somewhat excited is the new fire emblem, but deep down I know its gonna be more of the same old - even if they delayed it a year or two I wouldnt mind.

@Pillowpants I guess the price can be seen as OK. But I expect it to go down and I can wait. Also, I still havent decided if I should go for GKCs or digital, since I am not in the habit of selling games GKCs seem less convenient

Thing is, its not coming on a card. U gotta look at it this way, ur getting a port of an older game that can be purchased for cheap on ps5 physically - and it runs 60fps, lol. In effect ur paying more for much less.
Switch ports were generally more expensive and usually the worst way to play. But I bought them anyway - I could always tell myself a card is more expensive to produce than a bluray disc and thus warrants a 'switch tax'.
With GKCs/digital as the only options I don't feel the need to cast haste on a purchase.
