I think this game looks fun and I’ll definitely get it eventually. There will be the inevitable LEGOA sale with 30-50% off in a couple months and that’s when I’ll likely pull the trigger

@RareFan only 2 Illumination movies have ever made a billion at the box office (out of 13 movies) with only 2 others having got close. This is still definitely a rare feat for Illumination. Mario movies seems to have great legs but I don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion it will pass Despicable Me 3 or Minions.

Switch successor announcement incoming

I don’t see any way for it not to be a hybrid console. Nintendo has been king of the handheld market for sometime now, and I don’t see them abandoning that anytime soon. It’s also highly doubtful that they would abandon the home console market. They have learned from the Switch that it is much easier to develop for one console instead of having a dedicated handheld completely separate from a dedicated home console. Seems nearly impossible to expect them to throw all those lessons out the window.

@thecricket I watched the announcement trailer and the gameplay clip ( Neclord battle from S2) and they absolutely made changes/updates to dialogue. I spotted new dialogue in the scene where Nanami & Riou wait outside Muse for Jowy. Also in the Neclord battle they refer to the Star Dragon Sword as the Celestial Sword instead.

I wonder if they’ve taken out the glitches like the Matilda glitch or infinite money glitch?

This is my all-time favorite JRPG series and I could not be more excited! I would have gladly settled for a straight port but this is beyond amazing. Absolutely a day 1 purchase for me. Best gaming news I’ve got in some time!

Hadn’t heard of this game so I watched the trailer. My first thought - “Does THIS really need to be a cloud game?”

My daughter absolutely loves Splatoon. Probably her favorite game on Switch. She cannot wait for S3 to drop in Sept. I showed her this and she was in full 😍🥰 mode! Hopefully they won’t get all bought up by scalpers before people can buy them.

I am beyond happy about this!!! I didn’t back the KS because it wasn’t confirmed for Switch and that is my preferred console for JRPGs. This totally made my night.

I hoping the Switch successor is more a 3DS/GBA type upgrade and not a reinvention of the wheel. Give us BC with the Switch library, continue the NSO services (with enhancements) make things like OLED, better kickstand, larger internal storage the standard, and of course speed/power boost. Seeing the Steam Deck run PS5 games, I’m confident Nintendo could make a machine that would allow 3rd party support to continue. I’d happily pay $400-$450 for a console that could do this.

$8.99 a month…no way. Although TBH, I don’t play enough to even warrant $2.99 a month subscription. Most I’d pay is $.99

Need a Suikoden collection on Switch ASAP. Like yesterday!

Right now I’m finishing up Legends Arceus and still playing some Shinning Pearl. Working through my back catalogue on PS5 too. Probably play a little Uncharted 4 or GoT.

Makes sense, honestly. Arceus wanted you to catch 25 of every Pokémon for the dex. It would have been awful to have to fight each time. This is a completely different-style of game and possibly never having to battle a wild Pokémon to catch it wouldn’t make sense. To me, this is no biggie but hopefully the battle transitions stay out. I will miss wild Pokémon attacking you though. We were always told, since Gen 1, you needed a Poké partner for that very reason.

Just give me a 50/50 Legends Arceus/SwSh game for Gen 9 and I’ll be super happy.

I’ve been playing exclusively in handheld and most of those issues don’t bother me/aren’t noticeable to me. The only one that kills me is the pop-in when riding a mount. It’s super distracting and totally breaks immersion.

Not surprised. Between “It’s Pokemon” and “It’s BotW”, it was bound to sell well. The good news is, it seems to deserve it based on merit and not just name. I preordered 3 copies this week (digital) for myself and 2 of my kids. Might get a copy for my daughter too, if interested. Cannot wait to fire this game up on Friday.

Side note: Sword & Shield were not trash. They were fun. Now BD/SP…jury is still out for me 🤔

I just pre-ordered yesterday and after reading this I am happy I did. Everything I’ve seen & read has been very positive (rare for a Pokemon release these days). Super excited to adventure through the Hisui region. I’m even more excited to think how these ideas & gameplay mechanics will impact & influence the future of the series. I have a feeling this will be at the top of my 2022 Year-in-Review summary.

@MrHonest I’m pretty sure there is. The last 6 min overview trailer showed you hunting Pokemon in the rain at one point.

I played this with TestFlight on Mac and it was actually pretty fun. I’ve been waiting for a release date to be announced. I’ll definitely grab it for $20 on Switch.

Its a video game, so what matters most to me is - “is it fun?” I mean, that’s why I play games. To have fun. From the 6 minute video recently release and the other things I’ve seen & read, this looks like a lot of fun and I can’t wait go give it a try.

These new handhelds are cool and kind of interesting but a $1,000-$1,300 device is not a “Switch Rival”. These are CLEARLY aimed at two different demographics that may include some small crossover. I’d say the same for the new Steam handheld as well.

Really nice design. I’ve been eyeing these Hiri controls for a while now. Might cave and buy the Arceus version along with the Switch case.

Man, Xmas can’t come fast enough. I bought Diamond & Pearl for my kids as gifts. I got Pearl for myself but decided to wait to open it until I gave them their copies. I don’t know if I’m going to make it…

@NearlyGoth I hadn’t planned in getting the double pack but it was such a good deal, I figured why not. Good for those that got to keep the deal. I’ve got lucky a few times but I guess today was not my day. I guess its just Shinning Pear for me now.

I know 4 people that ordered it, including myself. All the orders were quickly cancelled by Walmart unfortunately.

@ukaskew because they are 5 year old games (and Wii U ports to boot!). Look at PS4 & XBO games. Even the top selling, flagship games are found at nearly 50% off quite often, especially around Black Friday. Nintendo is notorious for not doing this. They are obviously amazing games and need to be in any Switch owners library but it’s kind of anti-consumer to still be selling these at $60. At this point they should be $45 regularly with a $30 price tag during major sales.

Some 1st part games need a deeper discount. No reason BotW & Mario Kart should still be $60 regularly $41 on sale. They should be $29.99 for Black Friday at this point. I’m sure this sale will include the usual deep discounts on all the Lego games, Ubisoft games and SquareEnix games we see every other month.

Once a patch comes to fix these issues & the game drops to $30, I might be tempted. I’m definitely not paying $60 for this buggy mess.

For the most part, I’ve been pretty satisfied with the newer Pokemon games and definitely think some of the criticism goes too far but most of it seems fair.

At this point, there is no reason to not have things like difficulty settings (like almost every other game has) toggle-able XP share, new game+, full pokedex, full controlable 3D camera.

Gimmie a next-gen Switch with PS4 Pro-level power, OLED revisions (screen, kickstand, build quality) 128gb storage, better joy-cons, and an upgraded dock (LAN, power boost) with 720p/90 fps in handheld & 1080p/60 fps docked as minimums.

I can’t wait for this game, I never did play the originals so this will be an all new experience for me. My kids are hyped too. Torn between saving the games for Christmas or just jumping right in on the 19th.

Awesome game. For me, easily one of the best Lego games ever. I’ll grab this for Switch eventually but not at $40. Not when Lego Heroes 1 & 2 bundle is $15 on PS4 & XBO.

I hardly plan games on my phone, line rarely ever BUT this game I do play. It’s simple but a lot of fun. Offers enough challenge & customization to keep you coming back. Definitely a great little retro-style football game. I’ll get this on Switch for sure.

Glad I read this review before buying a copy for myself and one for each of my three kids. It sounds like there is some multiplayer fun but not enough for me to go spend that type of money on multiple copies of this game
