It looks like more hunters are jumping on the Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak bandwagon by the week. In a sales update from Capcom, it's been revealed the DLC expansion has now sold over 3 million units worldwide.
To celebrate, the Monster Hunter director Yoshitake Suzuki and the team has shared a special illustration. This follows on from the 2 million sales milestone last week, including the news the base game has sold 10 million units worldwide since its original release.
If this is like previous milestones, Capcom will likely follow this up with a special item pack. The Japanese company has also mentioned how it's currently "hard at work" on the first Title Update coming this August. It will feature new monsters and more as detailed in the game's roadmap for 2022.

Definitely Devilhjo will come in the next update, I do wonder if we'll get more color variants of monsters (as azure/silver rathalos, etc)
After mh4 still not intrested all that jumping along the map and all nope... I think they made a mistake on this one but heck people like it so i guess not.
Three million this close to launch is pretty good, considering it's not present on either the Playstation or Xbox ecosystems, and requires having beaten the game to access the new content.
Anyone know if all content is on the cartridge? The PAL physical of monster hunter rise with sunbreak? Thanks if anyone knows/can help. I assume so, right? I can't see a stamp saying download required...
@Tangerine
If I’m not mistaken the physical version has rise on the cartridge but sunbreak as a redeemable voucher… so not on the cartridge.
@Takoda That's a shame... I was hoping to buy one and leave it in the cellophane wrapper, but not if it's not all on the cartridge. Had same issue with Mario Rabbids gold edition that included the DK DLC (the first Mario Rabbids obviously). Thanks :]
I saw some reviews in which they said that the Add on (Sunbreak) is just ok but thats completely wrong. I'm usually a very crtical person and I have to say that Sunbreak makes Monster Hunter Rise the best Monster Hunter since Monster Hunter 4 or 3 Ultimate. It's just so well crafted and earns the good sales numbers easily.
@Tangerine If you're leaving it in the wrapper for all eternity anyways, then what difference does it even make what's inside of it? I mean, for all you know, you might be THE ONE PERSON who BY MISTAKE received the ONE AND ONLY version where they actually put the DLC on a physical cartridge, without announcing it!! If you never open it, you never know for sure. It's Schrödinger's Switch game. The perfect collectors item!
(and I'm only HALF joking xD)
@NDragon1412 It's a bad habit I've got. But I do still play the games. If it's a regular game I'll open it if I want to play it. I'll get a regular physical along with a special edition to open and play instead. But I've never opened a limited/special edition. You are right of course...for all I know one or more are missing one or more items. I may never know! Unless I'm forced to sell on eBay for money and they open it and find out.
If it's a game £25 or less (so typically Indies) I wait for it to go on sale digitally and then buy it and add to digital backlog...but I'll buy it physically too, at full price on release and leave it sealed.
If it's a Nintendo game I haven't got round to opening/playing yet, I'll open the cellophane no problem, to play it. Can't afford all of those digitally and physically! I don't know how odd my behaviour is... Probably a bit!? I know you are joking (I don't have an ego big enough to be bruised online from your pretty fair/respectful post to be honest!) but as you say there's often a grain of truth to a joke! I get where you are coming from for sure and this was way longer a response than intended
@iaLgan I also miss classic MH, but with Sunbreak, the fast action version of MH is now fully realised and I enjoy it a lot for what it is. Much better than base Rise. Plus, I can still go back to MH3U on my Wii U or even MHGU on Switch for a more classic experience.
Sunbreak deserves all the praise it gets. I just hit MR70 last night. I've been taking my time, but still have a ton of Master Rank quests that I haven't even touched yet due to grinding some for specific parts for gear. The drop rates on rare monster parts seems to have been greatly increased...you don't seem to need to fight TOO many of any one thing to get everything you need to make whatever you want. And this is only with JUST playing bow in the expansion...there are 13 other weapons that I have yet to get in to. Sunbreak is a TON of fun, even if it is about the furthest you can get from the classic slower combat of older MonHun games; its fast...frantic...blazing speed combat (for Monster Hunter). Getting ready to dive back in and grind away some more!
The extra monsters content in this seems a bit light. Really hope the dlc fixes this.
