Nintendo has dabbled in short films and animations on multiple occasions, perhaps due to the desire of Shigeru Miyamoto and others to realise their creative visions in different forms. Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is the next game to include some short animations as bonuses within the game itself.
Some examples have been showcased, and the latest is absolutely delightful. It revolves around a simple game of fetch, and its beautiful animation and sense of timing is impressive; we can't get enough of it.
Update - Here's a bonus one from Nintendo's Japanese channel.
Few companies do 'cute' as well as Nintendo. It'll be interesting to see how this title - a tweaked port of Wii U title Yoshi's Woolly World, of course - will fare on 3DS.

Just brilliant!
Only thing that matters
Poochy ain't stupid.
Frickin adorable!
Ahwuwahwah SO CUUUTE!!!
Ahem...Very nice, the punchline of Poochy biting Yoshi's arm reminded me of this
Yoshi had his/her tail amputated?
Yoshii is a lefty!
Must resist the cuteness!
This doesn't exactly alleviate my suspicions that Poochy ain't stupid.
Nice.
Poochie is pretty cute. But I rather wish he was a cat instead.
I died of cuteness! X3
I laughed. I actually laughed. And then I awww-ed. That may have been the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Or at least in the top five.
Any chance at all of the Wii U version getting updated? HW got some of the HWL DLC, and they just updated AC:NL w/ amiibo support 2 years after release, so it isn't a completely left field idea. I'll buy the Poochy amibo to unlock whatever it is he does.
Awwwww, that is way too cute for me, I love it
Hahaha... XD
That the reasons why there are a pile of Yarn balls over there.
@Captain_Gonru off topic, how are you watching the CW shows? My cable company is annoying me again, thinking about dropping tv. Wii U, PS3 and PS4 web browsers aren't compatible with the website. Thinking about a Roku, Chromecast or Fire TV.
@Captain_Gonru Thanks. When I want to watch Hulu I used to hook up my old laptop to my TV via VGA, and use an analog cable out of the laptop into the sound system. Yes, it's as tedious as it sounds. I haven't purchased a new laptop in about 10 years. Guess I'll figure out something when the timecomes, I always do.
I'm on day 3 of a head cold or sinus infection or pneumonia or something, sucks to be me.
they should make this a try not to smile challenge.
@Captain_Gonru Read in the newspaper today all 4 got renewed, even Legends, which I found surprising. Maybe they can still do something different with it? Glad you are caught up, now you see why I think Felicity could leave. Heck they all should leave, the mayor just put 3 arrows into a cops chest, that's some messed up stuff. Grimm started Friday, looking forward to that, still weeks to go for CW. West world was unbelievable. Good unbelievable, not bad unbelievable. Been sick for a week, need to get back to FFXV and Uncharted 4, watching college football tonight. Switch on Thursday at 11.
@Captain_Gonru Do you know Legends is now Tuesdays after Flash? Not sure why I know that, TV commercials I think. Still can't believe it got renewed.
Glad to hear your feeling better, good luck with the move clean up. Don't start FFXV w/o watching both the movie and animae first. Ok, anime first, free on the web, movie 2nd, the after credits bit is the beginning of the game. Oops, spoilers.
@Captain_Gonru "It called the trio of Merlyn, Thawne, and Dahrk "The Legion of Doom".
Looks like a month ago your TV guide listing was onto something, I'm pretty sure that's their official name now. I'm still not watching it though.
Marc had a funny post about it on Twitter.

@Captain_Gonru You rang?
@Captain_Gonru Next year Arrow gets to Flash back to season 1 so we get to watch that season all over again.
Didn't watch Supergirl but all network shows - ABC, NBC, CBS - all have that same HD look to me that I can't stand - it's actually the reason I never watched Heroes even though it's right up my alley - so I can imagine they'll get darker and grittier on CW, their specialty. Grimm is just dark enough, and someday I'll watch Sleepy Hollow, wait is that on Fox 5, that's already dirty and grimy.
Did DC Legends already get another season? Just wow CW has low standards. They should rename if "DC's Legends of Doom" and have different superheroes fight them each week. Like the cartoon that was good.
@Captain_Gonru From where I'm sitting, it can't be any worse.
@Captain_Gonru I never liked Darhk, too silly for me to take seriously as a super villian. I liked his character, reminded me of the devil in Reaper (come to think of it I think Marc'c wife did Reaper so there may actually be a connection there) but not as a major threat for Ollie. Despite his name he wasn't actually a dark enough threat for that show. Amanda Waller scared me more.
Is that quote he was doing reminiscent of the Arrow opening, or some show from our youth? I guess Arrow makes the most sense now that I reread it.
Question, since Legends is a time travel show does Merlin have his hand back? Don't worry about spoilers I'm never watching it.
@Captain_Gonru Mid 80s Darhk? Merlin should kill him, go back in time, tell Oliver about it just before he cuts off his hand and tell him he owes him 1 and Oliver would let him keep the League for saving Laurels life. Of course first he would have to see Oliver after Laurel died and get Oliver to write himself a note b/c Oliver would never believe Merlin.
This is my forever problem with time travel, everything becomes permeable.
@Captain_Gonru If anybody but you told me that Lucas story I wouldn't believe it. Did they at least convince him Jar Jar was the worst thing ever and would irrevocably harm his legacy?
Let's see, we can go back in time and help make Stan Wars, or keep Kennedys brain inside his skull, hmm what shall we do today?
@Captain_Gonru ""pot calling kettle""
Watched last weeks episode of Flash last night w/ the Collector and my wife said - "What is up w/ Kid Flash's mask, it's all wrong." So I'd say CGI is the least of their sins.
Other funny comment from my wife pertaining to the Collector - "Why does every woman on these shows all look the same?" It was right after a commercial for Arrow and the new Canary. Personally I'm good w/ it, I don't much care for blondes.
@Captain_Gonru You see the Iron Fist trailer yet? I'm pretty sure the scene at 1:10 has been in every episode of Arrow ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9OKL5no-S0
@Captain_Gonru One of these days we're going to sign back up for NF and I'm going to watch all of the Marvel shows. And Lost Girl, which I saw 1 episode of once and now I want to watch all of it, a cross between Constantine, Grimm, and USA Up All Night.
@Captain_Gonru We don't do comedies, we're old cranky NYers, though I read about it. I saw the first 3 episodes of Jessica Jones before I stopped b/c my wife wanted to watch it, and I can't say I recall any of it being slow. Of course I'm a NYer who enjoyed reading the dark Frank Miller Daredevils and have a thing for short moody brunettes so it's practically my dream show.
@Captain_Gonru "Legion"
I was a big X-men guy back in the day, built my own Wolverine claw, made a pull-over mask, thought Professor X was the greatest, missed out on the early crew but caught on when the 2nd team got created to save the first from the living island. Even followed X-Men Lite or whatever that crew was called, I liked the girl w/ the pet demon, maybe Colossus sister I think. Mostly Ijust followed Wolverinve though.
The first X-men film was good, 2nd was ok, 3rd was a tragedy I coudln't recover from and stopped watching the rest. FC looked like a teen tv show. Wanted to see Days extended Rogue cut - always liked Rogue, always - but never got around to it. Read Apocalypse wasn't too good. Need to watch them all though before the new Logan flick. First Wolverine flick was a mess, 2nd was pretty good.
I know Legion is about Charles kid David but as you said I should watch them in order, and I still need to see Agents of Shield and all of those Netflix shows, we're signing back up in March.
My wife and I spent about 2 hours yesterday discussing canceling our TV service, price goes up about $30 next month after our current "Deal" runs out. Maybe out home phone as well, we have 4 smartphones and those numbers. We looked into antenas, Roku, Netflix. Netflix gets Arrow and Flash 8 days after the seasons ends, so if we have 4 or 5 epsidoes left we'll just wait. I think we can watch Grimm on Hulu. The only issue is Dr. Who which is only on cable channel BBC America and you need a a paid TV subscription to watch episodes online. And I'll miss my NY Mets but games are usually free on TV on the weekends, we'll buy a $20 HD TV antena for those.
So, probably not going to start watching Legion until we get settled in w/ our new "Viewing" situation, whatever it turns out to be. I'll keep my cable deal if they keep it going, $132 for tv, interment and phone, not paying $160, don't need it.
@Captain_Gonru antenna
I'm 32-33 miles from most of the antenna so I'm going to buy a $22 50 mile powered antenna on Amazon just to be safe.
All options are on the table for my new tv viewing. I think I get 1 year free of a $10 cable box in a lawsuit so I may actually pay $150 a month if that comes to pass. I have 1 now but 2 tvs, I get a few channels on the non-box TV just plugging in the wire. I'm also considering just cable b/c those local channels un-scarmbled may bleed thru b/c they can't turn them off if you have ntnet. Not sure if that's still true, used to be the case way back when.
Thanks for the Legion info, maybe I'll view it when we're doe w/ the movies. Watched Hunger Games 2 today, Catching Fire, 3+ 4 to go over winter break. Then Capt America Civil War, then X-Men movies.
@Captain_Gonru Honestly, Nintneod store was a huge let down to me first time I went there. First floor is a square maybe 60' per side, lots of Pokemon toys. 2nd floor is bigger w/ a lot of sweatshirts and mugs. I haven't been there since the remodel, seems like they moved all the merchandise downstairs and opened up upstairs for gaming, so it may seem nicer, but it came across to me as just a small store, not a museum or entertainment or even a good theme restaurant - you ever hear of Rainforest Cafe? It is a lot better than the Lego store across the way, that's a joke.
It is in Rockefeller Center which is a nice area, and it's a few blocks from Trump Tower if you want to go mingle w/ the protesters and take a selfie, but I don't think it's worth much of a trip by itself. OTOH I am older and more jaded than you, you could enjoy yourself and pick up an Animal Crossing souvenir for the Misses.
You doing a conference or your usual stuff? TRU shut down in Times Sq, and places like Walmart and Target don't really exist in Manhattan.
Oh, my cable company sent me a snail mail letter yesterday saying they'll only be raising my price $15, not the $30 they were supposed to, so I'll likely just keep it, $152 for internet, TV and phone is just at my limit. Of course we'll see when the bill comes, cable companies are evil, they'll tell you their rates are unchanged on your package meanwhile the service fee went up $3, the surcharge went up $5 and the box rental went up $2. But I'm open to the path of least resistance and just keeping what I got if it really is only $15 more.
@Captain_Gonru Oh man, THE toy fair (I'm a bit biased) I'd take that over E3. Your wife coming up/down for the weekend or you rooming w/ a co-worker?
Don't know were your hotel is but that free shuttle service goes to a few near there. Maybe you should just go check it out if you have the chance, take a selfie out front.

Route 1 Crowne Plaza is 3 short blocks away.
Sorry if that is all getting a bit stalker-ish but you did ask. I get a bit carried away around toys, maps, and free shuttle service.
Have fun.
@Captain_Gonru Good luck. And enjoy the NY hospitality, it will seem pleasant after what we've been having in here the past few weeks, months, years whatever.
@Captain_Gonru "Not bad, but a bit underwhelming."
Yeah, that's what I was trying to convey. Glad you went, my wife said you should go, I was just getting on here to tell you too.
A hotel room to yourself in midtown Manhattan, not bad. Too bad Switch isn't out already.
@Captain_Gonru "Shame they didn't have more games for sale, though"
I can't recall even seeing a games section there, it's a souvenir stand for general merchandise. I'm surprised they still have Wii U set up, guess nobody told them it's a dead system, they'd be much better off with Switch like you said. Maybe nobody told them that launches in 2 weeks either. Guess Nintendo runs their store like their business, half-...
@Captain_Gonru "overall seemed like an underuse of some prime real estate."
Please understand, we are perpetually and consistently clueless.
I think between launch and now that 1 store could have sold every NES Mini they've made.
OK bit of an exaggeration, only so many cashiers and hours in a day, but almost guaranteed 10x what they did sell, how do you stay in business producing only 10% of demand? Why bother making the product or having a store? A store w/ no online retail, in 2017. Genius.
@Captain_Gonru You on FB? My wife has to spend 5 minutes railing every night about all the stupid and stubborn people on FB. Some of them are lawyers and teacher friends of hers, and she doesn't care what side they're on, she hates stubborn hypocrisy.
@Captain_Gonru "Weren't we talking about games at some point?"
Us? Not that I can recall. Though we are usually smart enough to avoid politics and stick to TV shows and comics.
@Captain_Gonru Well your backlog will be 1 show less, Flash wasn't on last week. Some show about canine mud wrestling or something was on in it's place. Don't ask me.
If you feel we must talk about games, I hate the industry now, everything is put out broken beta piecemeal w/ $20 season passes that drag out for a year. I really may just have to quit gaming and watch Netflix and only buy games 5 years after they release when the remastered HD versions are on sale for $5 next gen. I feel like any money I give any dev now is an early adopter tax for an inferior product.
Sorry, extra cranky, my kid has a science project due next week, which means I have to do all the work and spend all week listening to him whine about any small contribution he has to make. It's going to be the battle of the whiners all week long.
Wadaya think, Switch gets of to a good launch next week or do we read articles about defective systems and canceled pre-orders? I'd really like it to do well and inspire me to get one for Christmas. I'm 50-50 how it launches.
@Captain_Gonru Congrats on the gift to yourself.
Was actually just wondering today what you'd been up to, hadn't heard from you in a bit. My kids were off all last week from school so that kept me busy enough.
If we wanted 1 at launch I'm sure I could go in for a midnight launch Thursday and pick up whatever accessories we needed but we really don't want 1 right now. Well my 12 year old does for ARMS but he knows we just got a PS4 for Christmas so it isn't happening for awhile. And it's not like he wants it that badly where he's asking for it or anything. And I've already made up my mind not to care about Zelda until the mystery map fix/improvement/enhancement/modification thing. I'm a huge fan of maps, so I'll wait. Leaving a bunch of indies I don't care about. So basically wake me up at E3 for the holiday line-up.
You have any problem catching last week's Flash? Not showing up on my cable free-on-demand where it always is. Arrow is there but we always watch Flash first. We're signing up for Netflix on Saturday, I may just wait for the season to end and no commercials.
So, any good STEM stuff at the Toy Fair? I'm looking for a 3D printer for my kids bar mitzvah next January.
@Captain_Gonru Sucks about the SD card, sounds like something that would happen to me. My Wii U external HDD enclosure burned up, smoke and all, it's own little self-contained electrical fire, after only a few months. Bought a new enclosure and fortunately the HDD was still in tact. Still using it years later in fact. Well, you know, I would be, if I had any reason to. Seriosuly thinking about wiping it and moving it over to my PS4 once the firmware update goes live.
Maybe you can try returning the SD card to wherever you got it, sounds faulty to me, and they usually have a warranty if it's a known brand.
Did you jump thru all the hoops to get your eShop balance attached? I think you have to go onto Nintneod's MyNintnedo website to make the Switch account before making an account and on a Switch and then from the Switch link to the account you made on the website. I don't have a Switch but I tried making an account on the website but it never let me so I gave up. Keep trying and give it time I guess, maybe you need to confirm an email?
Flash finally showed up, both episodes at the same time, then the last 2 episodes of Arrow vanished. I'm guessing I'll catch up next week, really need to finish up Uncharted 4, been playing 2 nights a week since Christmas in a game that was made to be played 12 hours straight thru. Signing up for Netflix tomorrow, just in time for Iron Fist. Always liked him as a teen.
@Captain_Gonru Had I known you bought the SD card at Gamestop I would have told you not to bother, not to many victories there. Though after many emails and phone calls and stores I did get them to take my used PSP back for a full refund. I think it helped I was a current paying Pro member. You would have been fine at Target I think, they'll take back just about anything, and that was before that bad holiday sales quarter.
You bought a Swtich and Zelda for both Wii U and Switch? Did you also buy the $20 expansion pass for both? That pass is the reason I won't get the game until the "Complete edition" probably Christmas 2018. By then maybe I'll have a few of those amiibo to unlock a few of the other toy DLC items. For a game w/ a lot of 10 scores, and I'm sure deservedly so, haven't seen many people mention the total cost. Of course games like CoD now routinely have $50 season passes so I supposed most reviewers are used to the additional cost to get everything. I pay it, but I'm not used to it.
If you do play the Wii U version let me know what the Gamepad screen does. I'm sure there won't be any touch functionality, but does it just mirror or do they at least let you turn it off to save battery life? I know enough about the Switch version by now.
Enjoy.
@Captain_Gonru Hope that works, reply button didn't.
Not getting Zelda any time soon, I'm a cut off your nose to spite your face kind of guy. Nintendo made us wait 2 years to get this game as they twice said it was due out in 2015. One of those times while they showed off the real time touchscreen map live. Then they delayed it not once but twice, then stripped out the map, which everyone on here ridiculed me for even suggesting, even TW, and told me I was crazy, then weeks before launch they announce a $20 season pass, plus I need a $16 Wolf Link amiibo to get a 3 heart pet Wolf Link, and all those other amiibo to get special items. So maybe the Deluxe or Complete edition on Switch 2. Or who knows maybe by Christmas the game will be done and the frame rate patched and bundled with the Switch. I waited 2 years, I can wait 9 more months for them to impress me. Not like my backlog isn't piled high. Finished Uncharted 4 last night, 1886 The Order next. And all those Marvel shows to watch. Or I'll just play Horizon Zero Dawn instead, I'm not really a big Zelda fan, too slow and boring, Hyrule Warriors is my favorite.
@Captain_Gonru Don't have Wolf Link amiibo. We have SSB Link and Ganondorf, don't know what they do, if anything. Target has about 5 or 6 boxes of TPHD w/ the amiibo, they have to go on clearance at some point, right? Maybe my kids will play the game.
TR reminds me that if I start including games in my back log I want to play that I don't own yet it's going to get really long. I really want to play the 2nd TR and The Witcher 3 Complete, both of which are long, and then maybe Fallout 4 just to see how it compares to Witcher 3, but I have a feeling I'll never ever get to it what w/ the whole getting old and tired thing. My body still hasn't gotten used to waking up at 6:00AM every day after waking up at 7:00 the past 10 years. And PS+ is starting to get some games, Tearaway Unfolded looks right up my alley this month. And someday it will get inFamous 2nd Son which I really want to play. It was just on sale for $8 but that was too much for me, I'm really cheap.
Going to start watching Flash and Arrow tonight, taking my videogame break after finishing FFXV, U4 and Knack the past 2 weeks. Then, I think in this order:
Daredevil season 1
Jessica Jones
Daredevil season 2
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
And I'll probably start watching Agents of Shield w/ my kid, no way I'm going to try and figure out when those 4 seasons take place, I'm just watching them in order after we watch CA:Civil War.
@Captain_Gonru My wife and I actually watched the first 3 episodes of season 1 of Shield but it was just too normal and formulaic for us, everything on the 3 major networks kind of looks the same, very bright crisp HD, and the characters were all 1 dimensional cardboard cutouts. We like our shows to be a little weirder. We don't watch much, the most normal looking shows we've watched are probably Chuck and White Collar, which I'm pretty sure we just watched WC b/c she thought Matt Bomer, who was in Chuck, was hot. And we only watched Chuck b/c Casey was Jane in Firefly. And we only watched Firefly b/c Joss Whedon did Buffy. And we're only watching Arrow and Flash b/c she's friends w/ Mark, so we've watched all of his stuff, except Jack and Bobby, b/c that looked even more normal than Shield. We did watch Smallville for no reason but we stopped after 3 seasons b/c they went from high school kids to 20 somethings in Melrose Place over one summer. Babylon 5, Farscape, Reaper, Veronica Mars, The Event, Tomorrow People, Grimm. Those are pretty much the only shows we've watched together in 20 years. Oh, and Rome and Deadwood on HBO and Torchwood on BBC. 20 shows in 20 years, about 1 per season. Rest of the time is JRPG videogames.
@Captain_Gonru My wife doesn't actually play any games herself. She played Revolution 1 and 2 on the Dreamcast, a kid friendly JRPG, and 2 player Lego and Skylanders w/ me and some multiplayer stuff w/ the boys and I like MK and SM3DW and NSMBU. She does spend about 337 hours a day playing match 3 Candy Crush clones on her tablet. Well maybe it's 237 hours of that and 100 hours of Facebook.
I'd say the closest thing to a comedy TV show we watched was Reaper and the occasional episode of Grounded for Life. We watched 1 episode of 30 Rock at the urging of my sister and dad but hated that mock documentary 1 camera look or whatever the heck it is they use to get that super ultra clean crisp look. We really couldn't stand to look at it. Couldn't watch The Office either. Her 2 favorite movies are Spaceballs and Princess Bride so she did have a sense of humour at 1 point in her life.
You are right about adulthood though, no time. Now imagine having 2 kids, 1 goes to bed between 9:30-9:45 and the other 10:30-10:45. So we get about an hour between 11:00 and 12:00. Thank goodness we enjoy time w/ our kids. 3 and 5 more years they'll be off to college so we're getting that time in while we can.
@Captain_Gonru She really liked LotR, it's up there for her, but The Hobbit not so much. We were supposed to be watching all 6 films this winter w/ my kids but the youngest is still afraid to so we watched the 4 Hunger Games movies instead, today is #4. We watched Harry Potter 1 but nobody liked it. I've tried to convince them to keep going, telling them they get better, but so far to no avail. We even own HP 6, 7 and 8 on DVD. I did get my kids to watch all 6 SW films, now 7, gotta remember that, and 8 this year, we'll rent 3.5 this summer.
It's funny, we have a list of #1 films we want to show our kids but not the sequels - Raiders of the Lost Ark, Pirates of the Caribbean, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, the Matrix, Jurassic Park. Not that all of those sequels were terrible, but the first are all must see. They can watch the sequels on their own, I'm too old to sit thru them again. And we do need to see Avatar before the 4 new movies start coming out next year.
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/avatar-2-3-4-and-5-filmmaker-james-cameron-finally-admits-he-overwrote-a7159756.html
Hope I'm still alive to see the last one.
@Captain_Gonru I'm not getting involved in that other thread, but it did remind me I wanted to tell you we're caught up w/ Arrow and Flash, except for last night's Flash. Arrow isn't on this week FYI. Haven't started anything on NF yet, maybe DD this weekend. Looks like I'll pass on Iron Fist, reviews have been terrible. And not just the "Why is Danny Rand Caucasian?" comments, um, b/c he is, but overall it seems terrible. Trailer didn't really look all that great either. Which is fine, b/c I already have too much to watch as it is.
@Captain_Gonru Forgot about Defenders. Not that this is the Defenders, Defenders of Hells Kitchen maybe, but not THE Defenders, but yeah suppose I'll need to watch IF as well. In about 2 years rate we're going.
Sitting in the car dealership waiting for my $250 transmission fluid change. Putting off the battery, serpentine belt and wipers until next month. $10 per month Netflix looking like "free" at the moment.
Enjoy Zelda. Did you know Netflix signed a CW deal, the full season only 8 days after the last episode. So if you fall behind a bit more might as well just wait, commercial free is nice.
http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/5/12099692/netflix-the-cw-exclusive-streaming-deal-eight-days
@Captain_Gonru What's with the weird sideways avatar? I like it b/c it's weird.
My wife refused to watch Flash last night b/c for some reason our cable company only had the SD version, which doesn't look good on a 52" 1080p TV, so we watched episode 3, or 4, of DD instead. Glad my kids aren't watching. Oh, and I think they do a much better job at Russian accents than Arrow. Made me wonder what an episode of DD costs compared to an episode of Arrow, seems like better actors. Actually the entire show feels more like watching a movie than a TV show. I'm already looking forward to season 2.
@Captain_Gonru "And less special effects"
There is rarely any CG in DD, but they sure do spend a lot on fake blood.
Keep enjoying Hyrule, sounds like a happy place, the world can use more happy places, everything else is dark and apocalyptic. Even w/ Ganon, the Guardians and the darkness Hyrule still looks like Disneyland to me.
