Incidentally, we've been putting together a full guide to all the best Nintendo Black Friday deals this year, so make sure to have a browse of that if you're looking to pick up some new goodies. More great deals are headed to North America starting from the 22nd, too, so keep an eye out for those.
It's great to see that the Switch continues to be as popular as ever. That lifetime sales total just keeps going up and up and up...

You will probably think the xbox and ps5 will be high
Honestly it is the hottest item you can get but it is defo not the hottest item that people want.
Yeah, because the Xbox Series X and PS5 are currently sold out...
@EngineerMario Well the thing is they don't actually go on sale until the literal day of the event
Sometimes these retailers tend to put out some consoles earlier than others. PS5/Series X stock isn't actually coming in until like early next week for the US at least
Right now they're out of stock so why bother searching for them
@ThanosReXXX Is that your new "happy for the holidays" avatar? 😉 Very comic book, I like it. 👍
Maybe "Switch Black Friday" is the most searched for b/c there aren't any deals so it's the hardest to find? Like how when you find something it's always in the last place you look, b/c then you stop looking. This would be the opposite of that.
Not saying it's not popular, just saying search results shouldn't be taken at face value.
Hopefully people find what they're looking for, b/c the UK shouldn't even have Black Friday b/c it doesn't even have Thanksgiving. I'm pretty sure there aren't a lot of searches in the US for "Boxing Day sales". 😂
I think you'll find... that the PlayStation 5... is the hottest item.
(because it's overheating)
I'm here all night, try the fish, tip your waitresses.
Way to go!
Would love to see Switch reach 80 million by the end of next year.
@SilentHunter382 A succinct and accurate analysis.
I asked Santa for this instead 😉
Doesn't matter if the new consoles are more desired, the Switch is the one people will be more likely to buy during this period. Nintendo are laughing all the way to the bank.
I think the next gen consoles will not be the hottest items right away this christmas... for the hardcore fans for sure, but not for the mainstream market and it is not for availability, but because the will not rech the mainstream interest this year: lack of big next gen titels, lack of 4k tv in many housholds, 500$ price....
this is great news meaning support for it will continue. but lets face it now most of us have 2 many consoles and end up with all 3 usually
@NGNYS,
Yes some will be thinking how a low powered console with no games is selling this well, simple answer is they just do not understand the wider market.
I think the lifetime sales of the Switch will surprise everyone.
@rjejr Well, as the old saying goes: "search and ye shall find"...
As for my avatar: I've actually been using that for quite a while now already, so I guess you haven't been paying attention, because it's anything but new.
@NGNYS PS5 actually sold out all its stock in Japan so it's not like it actually did badly. It was produced in far fewer quantities compared to a 3 year old console
Switch is the most popular as at the moment the ps5 and xbox series S/X are out of stock and will be past Christmas and as newly released consoles they wouldn't of gotten any black friday deals anyway. This is good news for the switch though as it will the main focus this black friday and sell like crazy. Just wish they had some more games coming out before Christmas other than hyrule warriors 😩
@rjejr
That's because we have always followed what america does, well did until you voted Trump.
@ThanosReXXX If it's since March then it's new. There are only 2 time point references now, before the pandemic, during the pandemic. 😎
@dew12333 Pretty sure you followed us after Trump with Johnson, he's the spitting image. 😉
It's a win-win scenario, really. The 35th Mario anniversary "just happened" to take place in the same time frame as the next-gen competitors' debut, with the doors closing on 3D All-Stars and SMB 35 next april; by then, good ol' Big N will have enough big guns to make the consumers look beyond the usual power gap excuse. Will next-gen systems sell like hotcakes? Undoubtedly so, but the Switch will take its place back. Wait 'till a Pokémon game with all National Pokédex critters releases on the Switch. Or the next Zelda, for that matter. Or Metroid. The sales will still be stupidly high, because the Switch can.
Considering Nintendo is keeping up with demands I see no slow downs for them coming Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
I haven't been able to find a switch system for 3 weeks. Hard to believe.
@zocker-hias yes it’s all too expensive
"FIFA 20 Black Friday"
That's last year's FIFA. Is this a typo?
What is the source link for this info? I find it weird that PS5 and XSX aren't mentioned at all. Sure, they are in low supply, but demand is surely through the roof.
Lol that means no new switch pro for a while then...
I have a question how can i bring my save files over to a new switch? I want to buy the upgraded version (longer battery).
@The-Chosen-one Far as I am aware it's only possible if the game supports cloud save and you are subscribed to Online services.
I'm pretty sure (99%) you can transfer saves between switches, regardless of cloud save or online services. It's only Animal Crossing that may need a special app.
