Re: Random: Hideki Kamiya Would Like To See Bayonetta In Mortal Kombat 11

Shirma_Akayaku

I know people here would be uncomfortable with Bayonetta getting horrifically murdered, HOWEVER, if you've played or seen the Bayonetta games, she can get brutally killed in that game too. Just look up a YouTube video of Bayonetta dying and you'll see she can get absolutely crushed be Beloved and blood splatters on the ground.

Bayonetta in Mortal Kombat wouldn't be ridiculous at all (but she would stand out).

Re: Review: Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge (Wii U eShop)

Shirma_Akayaku

@RoomB31 I know. That's why I said "if". I know the idea is to use your currently bought amiibo for something, like a bonus, but there are people out there who will buy all the amiibo for this game.

This game as a whole however doesn't offer too much content. It's a problem to me because if someone already owns all the amiibo for this game, they won't be getting much out of it. I know the idea behind amiibo is to use them across multiple games, but this game is based around amiibo in a way that isn't beneficial towards the average consumer.

Re: Review: Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge (Wii U eShop)

Shirma_Akayaku

This game can be fun... if you have all the proper amiibo that is. I think this game is only to "encourage" people to buy more amiibo to play the game fully.

If you bought every single amiibo for this game specifically, you'd be paying WAY too much for this "free-to-play" game. You'd spend well over $100 in order to play the whole game, and even then, it's not that good.

Re: Nintendo is Getting Into the Movie Business

Shirma_Akayaku

I think Nintendo will pick an IP they're confidant in and play it safe with how creative the movie is. They're starting out, so I think it makes sense.

As for the IP, probably Zelda or Metroid. Of course there are others like Fire Emblem or even Animal Crossing.

Re: Soapbox: Why Websites Don’t Need to Give a Game a Review Score (and Probably Shouldn’t)

Shirma_Akayaku

I'm not so keen on scores anymore. I try to tell my brother not to rely on scores so much because there's no universally accepted score system for video games. For example, a reviewer might score a game 5/10 - "average". Another reviewer might have 5/10 seen as "bad" on their scoring system. Because of this, video game scores to me have always be so inconsistent in their value.

To me, numbers don't tell me much about a game, words do.

Re: A Wii U Homebrew Channel Opens Up New Possibilities for Some Cheeky Gamers

Shirma_Akayaku

For me, it's all about the Smash Wii U mods. I love having custom music and textures. It's pretty much all I use it for. Oh, and using a safe version of the Octolings online (so it doesn't freeze everyone's else's system).

I think the only complaint I might personally have is that some might cheat online in direct ways (like item hacks in Mario Kart 8). Other soft cheats online, like altering stats (Xenoblade with max stats) might not be good for online, but it can be okay since it doesn't really impact other's gameplay. Plus, you can hire people with hacked stats to make the game easier. It's debatable I think.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Planning A Series Of Wii U Remasters For NX

Shirma_Akayaku

I'll just repost what I wrote on YouTube:

"Smash coming to the NX brings up a problem. With the way Smash is titled, 3DS & Wii U, each one has their differences and are considered different versions. Will this also apply to the NX? After all, if it's titled Super Smash Bros. for NX, it can technically be considered it's own version (assuming this is remastered) and it wouldn't be compatible online with Wii U (just like how 3DS isn't). If this turns out to be the case, then new content could be added or mixed from Wii U & 3DS, plus DLC would be packaged on the disc (with some as unlockables). I definitely would like to see 8-player Smash online, or Smash Run (online). The NX could be capable of this."

Re: Competitive Super Smash Bros. Scene in Spain Prepares to Ban Bayonetta

Shirma_Akayaku

Banning should only be used as a last resort option if things get too bad. She's only been out for two months and people want bans.

Does anyone remember Melee Sheik and how she was nearly banned because she was deemed "too good"? Of course not (even though there were tourneys that premtively banned her). Nobody remembers the past, so this history is bound to repeat itself in similar ways.

Re: Nintendo Issues Statement On Side Quest Changes In Bravely Second

Shirma_Akayaku

Will the Japanese version be changed in a future patch? If not, I'm not entirely convinced about the changes they made. Don't get me wrong, the changes seem justified in some sense (even though I don't agree with it), but if they made the changes for other regions, why not update it in Japan?

All in all, the changes made to this game (and the deluxe edition) have made me go from "curious" to "uninterested".

Re: Soapbox: It's too Early to Judge Paper Mario: Color Splash

Shirma_Akayaku

Even though the entirety of the game may be too early to judge, we can judge what they gave us from the Direct. In it, they defined Paper Mario as an action-adventure game. Well... that's disappointing to hear because that statement alone shows that this might be Sticker Star 2. After all, in an "Iwata Asks", it was said that Sticker Star will be the new direction the series was taking.

Looking on the bright side, at least it could be Sticker Star done right and it can be a good game on its own merits, but it doesn't mean that it will be a good game compared to the rest of the Paper Mario games (because I don't think it can live up to the overall quality of those games; that's probably a given at this point).

Re: You Can Now Register for a Nintendo Account

Shirma_Akayaku

@Fath Well I gotta say, you do have a good point (several actually) and I can agree with that. The only thing I disagree is Nintendo's reputation of getting hacked easily. This would have been true if we were still in the past, but things are different now and like you said, "Literally nothing online can be regarded as safe these days" and Nintendo is no exception. They've been trying to catch up to Sony and MS by doing online services better to reach a wider audience, but it also means more potential hackers targeting Nintendo (and it's already been happening, just not at the humongous scale of Sony or MS).

...However, it's nothing to really get worked up about since it's much smaller in comparison to Sony or MS. So I'll leave it at that I guess.
