Re: Feature: These Are The Mario Kart 8 DLC Packs We Want To See

@antdickens Tokyo Megaplex. YES YES YES. Anthony, that would be a 3 lap track since you blast up to the top every time you enter the tube. I'd also want Mercury City Meltdown. Aloha Ice Jam would be cool too since there'd be underwater sections and at the end of the track, you could take a tube above the tunnel and glide to the finish line, instead of jumping off the icebergs.

Re: Modder Shows How to Play the 3DS With a GameCube Controller

I heard that the Nintendo Network User Agreement changed to prohibit the use of Gamecube controllers or other mods on the 3DS. Although this mod is cool, it is in a sense, pointless.

First off, it's a handheld that you can take with you everywhere. You're not gonna be playing a 3DS on the bus using a Gamecube controller. That's just impractical. Second, the Wii U version will include Gamecube controller support. We can wait for it to come out in November. Lastly, I don't see many people buying this since it won't last that long once the Wii U version comes out.

All in all, it's a good idea, but it just has flaws that would be a detriment to the overall product's lifespan.

Re: Guide: How to Beat Everyone Else in Mario Kart 8

@GreatPlayer This is why I pick Frantic over regular. You'd have a better chance for a better item, but the system as a whole isn't balanced. I've done all these tips before in Time Trials, but they don't add much in an actual race.

@dudujencarelli We're talking about Mario Kart 8, not Mario Kart 7. They are both different on skill and luck.

Re: Mario Kart 8's Hackers Open Up Over Their Plans and Ethical Dilemma

@WaLzgi There could be a connection between piracy and rising sales. I think it can happen, but barely. It's such a small sales push for video games that it doesn't really help a big name company such as Nintendo, but it might help indie developers by spreading the word about their game. Piracy tends to work well for music and I'm not sure why it works so favorably for it instead of video games.

By the way, I'm not good at making these kind of comments, but I hope I typed it out in a manner that's understandable.

@Geonjaha I think piracy does play a role in a products sale. What @unrandomsam said does have meaning. On the Wii, the games that sold the most were usually the ones that were pirated the most. Part of why that happens is because modders / hackers tend to buy the game after they pirate it because they wan't to get deep into the disk's content rather than a tampered version from online. Plus, they'd want to make a backup incase they lose the disk.

Surprisingly, pirates are usually the ones who end up spending the most.
Here's some videos on piracy, but not directly on video games.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Ambitious amiibo Plans - Pros and Cons

One major deciding factor is the price. If it's too expensive, and you barely get to use it, that's money possibly wasted. If you spend a decent amount, and you don't get to use it much, that's money possibly wasted.

It also depends on the type of Amiibo you get. If you get Mario, chances are that you'll get to use him a lot since he's in a lot of games. Get the Wii Fit Trainer, and the only place you might use it is in Smash Bros and Wii Fit, which is pretty shallow.
