Only interested in BotW 2 (which I think will be coming next year) and possibly Metroid Prime 4 (even though I didn't enjoy 3 and Samus Returns). It's a good thing next-gen is almost here, as there hasn't been a major Nintendo release this year at all that has interested me. Oh well, first-world problems and all.
@BionicDodo Ha! Well in that case, have you played the Banner Saga trilogy? Really good storytelling with an awesome soundtrack and an enjoyable turn-based strategy system
@BionicDodo Thanks for the tip! I did play it but found it lacked a certain sense of charm and it wasn't focused enough - missions lasted way too long. Maybe it's just because Advance Wars pulls my nostalgic strings, I don't know.
@BlubberWhale I suppose you could say the camera control was a bit more limited, but between the focus-behind-Olimar button and the three different zoom levels, it wasn't in need of an extra stick I'd say.
"the left to aim and the right to rotate the camera"
I wish they'd just left the option in there of the Pikmin 1/2 control scheme where you could directly guide your pikmin with the right control stick, which was far more precise than the awful Pikmin 3 controls.
I'm still holding off playing Prime again hoping the HD remaster will be announced. I'm not making the same mistake again as I did with Mario Sunshine, which was announced right after I finished it again on the Gamecube!
Times like these show how many great games the Wii U had: Mario Kart 8, Breath of the Wild, Captain Toad, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Super Mario Maker, and Pikmin 3, among others. Surely Mario 3D World is probably up next.
Great news for the ones who didn't have a Wii U, not so great for those who did. The next Nintendo console might be the first one I'll skip.
So many metroidvanias! So little time! I'm getting this though, it looks like the monster from The Thing has made its own video game. And I'm fine with the fact that no other metroidvania is reaching Hollow Knight levels any time soon.
I've been playing a few levels and definitely agree with the reviewer's opinion about the sparse checkpoints. Even though the game isn't that difficult so far, having to traverse long sections again because of instadeaths is a bit of a bore.
@StuartGipp I enjoyed Odallus (haven't played Oniken yet), but when I think of "immediate and responsive" I immediately thought of Blazing Chrome I like both styles so it's all good!
The final stage of Curse of the Moon 2 is up next. After the first four very easy levels the difficulty has truly levelled up now. Other than that I'll be dabbling in Slay the Spire and Death Stranding.
I've finished the first four stages now and they've been incredibly easy so far. Glad the difficulty is supposed to be increased soon. Other than that it's marvellous (and a lot more fun than the so-so Ritual of the Night, but don't tell anyone!).
@johnvboy I agree, it's such an underrated system. Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, two HD Zelda remasters and Breath of the Wild, Captain Toad, DKC Tropical Freeze. Come to think of it its range of Nintendo games is actually a bit better so far than the Switch one.
@DreamStar I'd rather buy physical as well but there are limitations. Last Faith looks terrific indeed! I'm also eagerly awaiting Axiom Verge 2 later this year.

Re: Team17 Announces Free DLC For Blasphemous - Adds New Game Plus, New Story Content And Much More
@BulkSlash Interesting, I've just finished Curse of the Moon 2 and found that a lot harder than Blasphemous.
This is excellent news by the way, as this is one of my favourite metroidvanias this generation. Can't believe they're putting it out for free either.
