@Razer I posted my reply before my screen refreshed so didnt see your comment but you've got a good point there. The gameplay in Rockstar games is very clunky indeed, and most characters are cardboard tough guy cliché's who don't succed in making an engaging story.
I seem to be the only person on the planet who found RDR1 an absolute chore so I'm skipping the sequel. Not sure what it is but I'm not feeling the Rockstar love anymore. Ill be playing Alien Isolation this weekend, which is turning out to be one of my favourite current gen games.
I'd really implore people with even a remote interest in Castlevania to download Bloodstained. It's a truly excellent homage to the old NES games.
I'm quite tempted to pick up Axiom Verge for that price. Think it might be worth it but the slightly muddled colour pallete of the graphics doesn't seem to float my boat.
@electrolite77 Good point actually! And thanks for notifying me of Metacritic. I usually look at Gamerankings but it seems as if this site is a bit more thorough. Looking at the list though I realise I need to look more at the eshop section of my Switch, as physical releases over here are few and far between.
@JasonLee99 If I remember correctly the reviews were quite middling at the time so I don't think expectations for me were all that high. I think it might have had something to do with the level design? Levels needed to be revisited several times but exploring them wasn't as fluid or exciting as it was in Banjo et al.
I'm quite surprised by the staggering amount of praise the game library is getting to be honest. Quite a few of the Switch triple A games are ports from the Wii U (or PS4/Xbox), so for me the amount of games I've got so far isn't that big. Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy playing on my Switch and there are a fair amount of smaller titles available along with bigger games like Mario Odyssey and Octopath, but so far I prefer the gaming library of the Wii U, let alone the Wii or Gamecube.
For some reason I felt that something was missing from this game. I've played it for a few hours last year but never felt compelled to go ahead and finish it.
Had something of a retro Mario week. I've already finished Super Mario Bros 1 and 2 this week, so will probably wrap up 3 this weekend - which I'm happy to say is still one of my favourite platformers of all time. Other than that I just downloaded Alien Isolation which for some reason I haven't really delved into before.
@gauthieryannick. I concur, I am thoroughly enjoying myself with this one. I for one am not keen on waypoint markers in games, a well structured game, like this one, does not need them. Soundtrack is top notch as well!
@exopiscea Cheers, I looked into that. Thing is it takes ages for delivery and it's 50 percent more expensive than a physical ps4 copy around here. I am tempted though!
Disappointed to hear about the soundtrack. The demo already hinted that the tunes wouldn't be as memorable as before. Control is very tight though so I am still going for it.
Now which version to buy? Download-only for Switch or the physical PS4 version?
Would have liked to pick up a physical copy of Mega Man 11 for my Switch, but for some reason Capcom decided not to release that in Europe. Might download it but on the other hand there IS a physical release of it for PS4..

Haven't signed up as I'm a bit of an einzelgänger game-wise and have plenty of other options to play NES games.

Great, surely they can use the extra time to include Ryo Hazuki as a playable character again!

Just finished it this weekend for the umpteenth time, still fabulous after three decades. Been humming the tunes for days now!

Alwa's Awakening (love those tunes!) and probably a bit of Okami HD and/or Yakuza Zero.

Okami HD and a bit of FF7 for me this weekend.
Re: Yooka-Laylee Physical Pre-Orders Have Been Delayed Until Friday, More Details To Come
Played it on my PS4, and was actually quite disappointed with it. Can't really remember why though, it somehow just didn't click with me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 1st)
Shenmue again. Managed to land myself a job! Now it's a case of finding those Mad Angels..
Re: Octopath Traveler Composer Feels "Relieved" That Fans Enjoy The Game's Soundtrack
@Majora101 Thanks! Might just do that although I prefer hearing a score during the game.
@finalstan Unfortunately never got round to playing Suikoden 2. Fingers crossed for a remaster, you never know nowadays.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Golden Sun score sure is a bit of alright!
