@johnvboy Well, that depends on whether or not you had a Wii U I suppose. A new Mario Kart, Donkey Kong or even Captain Toad would be great, although I'm already happy as Larry with a new Zelda and Metroid on the horizon. Moreover, there's plenty of indie game goodness.
@DreamStar Nah, I'm not paying £40 or so for a collection of which I already own the digital version and most of the original ones, but it's great for those interested.
@SwitchVogel I was about the mention the exact same thing. Then again, Nintendo is quite good at keeping mum so it wouldn't suprise me if there'll be some surprise announcements soonish.
I loved the game but the excruciatingly long loading times on the ps4 made me stop playing. Will pick it up again on my next-gen console with an SSD drive though!
@Heavyarms55 Fair enough! I read your statement saying that things like this shouldn't be discussed, full stop. Discussing political issues here on a gaming website (even though it's not about gaming) is debatable indeed.
@AlexSora89 That's a pretty comprehensive overview you've compiled there! Indeed, I've also noted some fanboy behaviour from the staff over there, but didn't realise it was that bad. I was just commenting on the user posts here on NL though, I've never seen any childish behaviour from the staff.
Alos, I suppose it also depends on the defition of fanboy whether you'd see it as a negative contruct. Is a fanboy someone who a) really enjoys a certain brand but is open to criticism and able to reflect or b) someone who blindly defends their brand? I too have a soft spot for Nintendo (I've owned every main console), but the amount of comments here dismissing some the advancements the ps4/series X will offer (some of which are really quite something) as if it's nothing, while at the same time defending the Switch as if it's the best thing since sliced bread, is quite baffling.
@AlexSora89 Well, I've learned today from the comments here that there are just as many fanboys on this website as there are on Pushsquare It's so odd seeing so many people getting incredibly defensive.
@johnvboy Fair point about Zelda. I get Nintendo's point though, just like I said in my previous post. If I were in their shoes I'd do the same thing. However, that doesn't take away that I'm a bit disappointed with regard to the lack of new 1st party titles (I'm not saying there aren't any new games, there's plenty of great indie games to be found).
@nessisonett Not sure why you're getting so much slack, could it be that you hit a sore note? I'm with you though, for people who did own a Wii U the amount of ports is staggering. For us, there's no new Zelda, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, or even Captain Toad to play. I absolutely get it from a finance perspective, it's easy money for ninty, but it also means that I spend a lot more money on my ps4.
The amount of ports for the Switch is staggering. I own all of Nintendo's main consoles, but I'm seriously doubting whether I'm buying the follow-up to the switch as the amount of proper new Nintendo titles for someone who's owned previous generations is mind-bogglingly low. Which means I can enjoy a good stream of new titles (for me) on the follow-up to the Switch's follow-up probably. Bit like the people with a Switch who haven't owned a Wii U.
I don't really get why so many people get excited by ports. Wouldn't it be nicer to have some original IPs coming out? I like my Switch, but I'm getting in the habit of calling it my Switchport already as it is.
It's no biggie, but 2020 is shaping up to be quite a barren year for my Switch, seeing as I've no interest in Animal Crossing or ports and remasters. Which means it's a good year to round off my Ps4 backlog and get excited about next gen!
@Chlocean Yeah, you're right in saying that he mimics what you see into music. I'm not too fond of Mickey Mousing though, but I can see why people enjoy it.
Would give it a go if the physical version was that price. I like old skool rpgs, but the demo seemed very melodramatic, so not sure whether I'd be able to look past that.

Re: Konami's Seminal Shooter Gradius Blasts Off On Switch Today
Still have my original NES cartridge! Any major differences between this release and the one from the NES library?

Re: Scratch That 8-Bit Itch With Panzer Paladin, Side-Scrolling Onto Switch This Month
Excellent! I'd been wondering when this would release. Next to Curse of the Moon 2 this is turning out to be a great retro month.
Re: Donkey Kong Country Swings Onto The Switch Online SNES Service Next Week
Seems like I'll be playing another EA game this year after C and C remastered. Who'd have thought?!
Re: Paper Mario: The Origami King Features A Seamless Open World And "Huge Maps"
Great, another open world... There goes the little interest I did have.
Re: Guide: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For July And August 2020
If you're looking to buy Streets of Rage 4 you're better off buying it at base.com for £29 than via the provided Amazon link.
Re: Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon 2 To Bring 8-Bit Castlevania Vibes To Switch "Soon"
Get in! Ritual of the Night is perfectly fine, but Curse of the Moon is where it's really at. First-day purchase for me.
Also, that's one shoddy-looking wall Iga is standing in front of.
Re: Nintendo To Cut Back On Mobile Games After Animal Crossing Success, Says Report
Excellent. Now go and produce a proper new Mario Kart please!
Re: Lovecraftian Action-Platformer Source Of Madness Revealed For Nintendo Switch
@Scollurio Good thing I've got a physical copy of Darkest Dungeon!
Re: Lovecraftian Action-Platformer Source Of Madness Revealed For Nintendo Switch
Man, everywhere you look you've got games inspired by Lovecraft nowadays. Why not go for someone else, like, I don't know, Keats or Wordsworth?
Re: Competition: Win A Copy Of Paper Mario: The Origami King In Our Crafty Fan-Art Contest
Any way to participate if you're not on twitter?

Re: Nintendo New York Store Windows Smashed During Riots In Manhattan
@Heavyarms55 Yes, let's censor stuff instead of having a civilised conversation about it, excellent idea!
Re: Review: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - A Timely Update Of One Of The Greatest RPGs Ever
I'd rather have campy voice acting than the terrible Americanised crap a lot of games offer!
Re: Switch Joy-Con Drift Claim Must Be Arbitrated, Says Illinois Federal Court
@AlexSora89 Those apologists were exactly the sort of people I meant in the other topic.
Re: Platinum Studio Head Doesn't Think Next-Gen Hardware Will Be As "Ground-Breaking" As The Switch
@AlexSora89 I think I'll survive without video games for a bit when there's a power cut, so I'm afraid I don't get it either
Re: Switch Joy-Con Drift Claim Must Be Arbitrated, Says Illinois Federal Court
I haven't used my joycons since I have bought my Pro controller, but this doesn't sit well with me, Ninty should deal with this better.

@Incarna Yep, or you can order it from base.com for £42.85. So many better choices in the UK than Amazon and Game.

@sikthvash Guess I got lucky then, as I received a first-class parcel from ebay in just two days!
Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 55.77 Million Units Worldwide
@MBII It's the least-sold system by quite a margin and It's the follow-up to the best-sold one, how could you not consider that a failure?
Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 55.77 Million Units Worldwide
@MBII 13 million units sold is a failure now matter how you look at it, although it may be less of a failure than you expected
Re: Nintendo Switch Has Now Sold 55.77 Million Units Worldwide
That Wii U number still stings, especially when you consider that quite a few of Switch's best games were already available on that system.

Re: Random: Former Halo Composer Would "Love To" Work On The Zelda Series
@iMarkU To me, Zimmer writes mostly awful, predictable and tacky stuff (just like the Halo chap), but taste is subjective of course.
Re: Random: Former Halo Composer Would "Love To" Work On The Zelda Series
I bloody hope not, the Halo soundtracks I know are awful; they're the equivalent of a Hans Zimmer score for films.
Re: Random: PS5 Controller's Create Button Looks Honkingly Familiar
@Octane As much as I love the Pro controller, the lack of analogue triggers is a massive letdown to me.

Michiru Yamane! If anything I'll give the soundtrack a listen at least.

@GoblinKing86 Overwhelming supply of new games? The release window of 2020 looks quite barren to me.

Wahey! More ports!

Re: Inti Creates CEO Teases Three Unannounced Games
@antonio2244 I second that, I even preferred it to Ritual of the Night to be honest.
Re: Random: Brie Larson Says She's More Than Happy To Be In An Animal Crossing Movie
Don't know who she is but I just wanted to say that I think it's odd to name your child after a piece of (elbeit delicious) cheese.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th March (Europe)
DOOM baby! The 64 version is the only one I've never played, so looking forward to that.

Re: Pixel-Art Boss Rush Game Eldest Souls Will Slay On Switch This Summer
Couldn't they have come up with a name that sounds less like a rip-off?
Looks great though.
Re: Round Up: All The Games From The Nintendo Indie World Showcase - March 2020
It's odd but the title that really caught my eye was Wingspan! I really do like some bird-spotting.
