Ever wanted to get into bricklaying? Fancied yourself as a wannabe architect with a flare for safety guidelines? Well, your dreams may be about to be realised as Kalypso Media and developer Somasim have announced PC building sim Project Highrise is headed to consoles - including Nintendo Switch - in 2018.
Project Highrise: Architect's Edition tasks you with building and maintaining the world's most famous skyscrapers, effectively turning them into their own urban infrastructures that can fail, topple and fall into disrepute if one mistake is allowed to snowball. The Switch edition also comes with extra DLC, so you'll have plenty to build when it arrives on the console later this year.

What do you make of the game? An unusual addition to Switch's growing library of titles? We want to hear your thoughts in the comments below...

Huh. Looks exactly like Sim Tower.
@SmaMan it has a different focus, and establishes more of its own identity.
Even still, this is definitely an underserved genre on the Switch
EXCITED!! This seems like the first “sim” i’m actually interested in.
@SmaMan was thinking the same thing. I played that game for hundreds of hours as a kid. Don't really have a taste for these types of games anymore but I do hope this game is great for those that want them!
I'm so bad at these types of games...doesn't stop me from trying though.
Ooh, not normally my kinda thing but this actually looks pretty cool. The art style is really nice!
i've enjoyed Fallout Shelter, so maybe i'll enjoy this too.
I wouldn't mind having a Sim Tower clone considering how old it is and how it seems like there is never going to be a sequel.
Simtower? I played all the Simcity games but never played Simtower. If this is good I am down.
I could actually see a lot of people hooked on building things and the constant management aspect. An addiction similar to Stardew Valley, thanks to the "scalability" of the game.
can u purposefully build a building unsound, and watch it tumble >
@SmaMan I loved playing that game on my small Mac Color! Have tower building games really not progressed much in 25 years? I remember that the people hardly ever used the stairs and made the elevator lines ridiculous, no matter how many elevator cars I added.
Reminds me of Yoot Tower which I played a heck of a lot on iPad, if this is reasonably priced (Calypso seem to charge premium on consoles) its a day one for me.
I really have the cravings for sim tower after seeing this trailer....ironically it's in the highest point of my house the loft lol
Wow, every game I wanted on Steam really is coming to Switch eventually. Will have to pick it up this time
Interesting. I will have to keep my eye on this. My initial concern is that it looks like it might be hard on my eyes, with all those little sprites to keep track of.
But I like games with lots of building and development.
