@mackers84 since me and my partner don’t live together I convinced her to let me have a Series S at hers under the TV and that obviously run out of storage even quicker leading me to buy my second 2TB card which this time was a little cheaper £330.
When you take into account me having to buy a 1TB card with my first initial Series X purchase (back when they were hard to get hold of) I’ve worked out that I have spent over £900 on NVME storage. I hope the next Xbox accepts these Seagate cards because for better or worse, I’m heavily invested in the Xbox ecosystem by over 700 games, including my backwards compatible content. I have serious concerns about Microsoft’s next generation plans.

Can’t find a 1TB Express card in the U.K. I’d want Sandisk or Samsung. Settled for a 512GB Sandisk card from Smyths for £94. I still have 350GB left as I’m mainly catching up with Switch 1 which have smaller file sizes. Even DKB was only a 9GB download.
I don’t mind paying a lot for storage as long as I can have access to lots of games as I hop around a lot due to my ADHD. The first 2TB Seagate expansion card that I brought for my series X was £370.
I’ve had my Switch 2 since launch day and I still haven’t managed to bag a Nintendo game for £33.29. This price seems mystical to me.
All I really want now is Super Mario Odyssey and New Pokémon Snap but I can’t bring myself to pay £49.99 for a digital copy of each especially when they could go on offer any day. I do have the Deku deals app on my phone and iPad so I am ready to pounce.
The thing is the 2 for £84 Vouchers are only available until the end of January 2026 and they won’t be available. I know I still have a year to use them, but I’d rather finally managed to bag a Nintendo game for £33.29.
Interesting that they didn’t mention the game central review (via Metro) who gave it a 4 out of 10. They’re always rated Masou games as shallow and incredibly repetitive.
@Yosti I have just come here to say that. How hard would it be to update Luigi’s Mansion 3 to allow for an inverted camera.
I have to skip the third iteration, unfortunately.
It was Nintendo that got me used to invert controls in the first place.
I’ve had my Switch 2 since launch day, and I’m wondering if this game will ever be on offer again. I’m not suggesting it’s not worth full price it’s just I’ve read a few criticisms about the game having quite large environments and I really prefer and enjoy the linearity of the Galaxy games.
I already have over 30 games on my switch 2. Last month I purchased Bayonetta 1&2 bundle, Donkey Kong Bananza, Metroid Prime Remastered, Super Mario RPG and Zelda: Links Awakening.
I did use the two vouchers for £84 for the last two games. Also purchased the Galaxy double pack, all the above digitally.
I also have over 700 games on my Series X (that includes backwards compatibility titles however most of those were heavily discounted but for Switch 2 it’s mostly full priced titles because I’m sick of waiting for sales.
I hope they dub this one because I cannot read subtitles at the same time as trying to watch game footage. I will still be waiting for the reviews to come in though.
I’m not sure how you will be able to collect those gems because the lack of a Wii remote. I want to play Super Mario Galaxy 2 on the big screen and not with a joy con or touchscreen.
Does anyone have any idea how it will be implemented?
@sdelfin that really sounds bizarre to me. Surely you have to use diagonal inputs for most Street Fighter 6 moves, shoto characters especially.
If I’m honest, I still don’t completely get it. I wouldn’t turn down trying one out though because I don’t get on with arcade sticks, I find that I am quicker with a good D. Pad.
I honestly can’t understand how this actually works. Am I missing something? How was four separate buttons for directions? Any better than the four direction buttons on the joy con? How do you pull off a fireball with this? I just don’t get it.
I’ve tried an Hori arcade stick on my Xbox 360 and personally I found it harder to pull off special moves on fighting games. The Series X/S d pad is seriously underrated for 1 on 1 fighters and other 2D games too.
I have this downloaded via Game Pass but I’m still tempted to buy on Switch 2 so I can sit and play it in the dark in handheld mode with my face close to the screen.
One of my gaming regrets is having the Gradius and Paradius collections on PSP but selling them ( I still have my piano black PSP 2000 model ) I don’t know what I was thinking. I would love them back but I’m guessing they go for silly money now.
I can’t remember where I purchased this from (probably special reserve mail order) back in the day, but I remember playing through it to the end and loving it it all. However I didn’t find much replay value in it so I took it to game station and I remember them being out of cash near at the end of the day but desperate to buy it from me because it was a limited print run at the end of the N64’s lifespan and commands quite a price if in mint condition.
I brought this on Series X because the mechanical D pad is actually responsive and unless Nintendo release a pro joy con with a proper D pad (Surely there has got to be a market for one) for portable mode I’ll be buying my 2-D games, like Gradius Origins elsewhere.
Looks like I’ll be buying this and the soon to be released Gradius Origins on Xbox thanks to Nintendo not having a D pad on the switch 2 (and the less than stellar d pad on the pro controller 2 ) when playing in portable mode. Same goes for any fighting games.
Still waiting for 33% off Super Mario Odyssey and New Pokemon Snap. Don’t know why they aren’t included. I could only get a 25% discount off Splatoon 3.
I brought this for £1.59 on Xbox and I’d be willing to double dip if it was cheaper.
Really don’t like this de-listing business though. I was fortunate to get Daytona USA, Outrun Arcade Online, Afterburner Climax and something else I can’t remember before they were taken down. However, that still leaves lots of people not necessarily tuned into gaming news who will miss out on these excellent titles.
@SuperRetroArt I'm in complete agreement regarding the Switch 2 handheld mode. My biggest big bear is that they can't be bothered to make a decent d-pad anymore.
I wanted to buy SF6 but after playing the demo on my Pro controller 2 I found impossible to pull off double quarter circle special moves, it is spongy and imprecise.
I don't know why they favour innovation instead of comfortable ergonomics for the user.
@SuperRetroArt hope I helped. Savage Raven have a grip for £29.99, called a StandGrip (that can’t be docked) and comes supplied with a surprising slim case when you consider that it holds the Switch 2 and the grip inside it.
I had one from Amazon, but returned it when I found it couldn’t be docked without removing it each time but since you rarely dock I’d give it some consideration because it is extremely comfortable. Instead of hard plastic, it is partly silicon made.
If you don’t mind returning one back to Amazon, I’d consider ordering one of each and see what you get on with the best.
I’m sure there will be better options down the road, but Nintendo really haven’t helped matters by going magnetic with the Joy Cons I’m still hoping that a company that made the Nitro deck can make something suitable or Hori make a new split pad.
Just thought I’d say it might be important to take into account that the StandGrip does not give you access to the kickstand in case you are a desktop player.
@SuperRetroArt yes, I have the neo grip and case and although it felt a bit pricey at 40 quid, there were few other options that could be docked.
It comes with three sizes of grip, The smallest grip size is really for someone younger. The other two grip sizes are around the same, but one of them allows you to reach the ZL/ZR buttons a little bit easier. It does initially feel flimsy, but once attached it feels more solid. It’s helped me game for longer as I have carpal tunnel syndrome.
The case is also deep and bulky, but I guess that’s the price of being able to put the Switch 2 into a carry case with the grip on, speaking of which the main downside is that if you want to remove the joy con controllers, then you have to take the grip off and you don’t with the D brand.
Personally, I just don’t trust the D brand Killswitch. If they were available on Amazon with easy returns, I might try one but currently I don’t think they are currently.
I’m new to the Switch (2) device so a 256GB card has fared well for me so far. I’ve got 15 games downloaded but half of them are first party Nintendo games with very reasonable file sizes and the other games don’t take up much room like No More Heroes 2, AsteBreed, Into The Breach and Golf Story.
I can really imagine people’s struggle coming from an original Switch though and all those purchases building up over the course of several years.
I have the same issue with my Series X and S. File sizes are out of control (200GB needed for Mortal Kombat 1 with 4K textures).
I had to purchase that 2TB SPECIAL EDITION Series X and even then I still have a Seagate 2TB storage card in each console and large HDD drives for backwards compatible games.
I purchased a Savage Raven Neo grip from Amazon for £39.99. It comes with a carry case that holds the Switch 2 whilst it is still attached in the grip. It slides into the dock without any issues.
It also comes with 3 sets of grips the only downside is if you want to use a Joy Con you have to take the grip off each time. At the moment, I’m getting on with it quite well.
I was whizzing around the courses like a pro and something didn’t feel quite right, so I went off course it was only then it tried to correct me so I went to the menu and turned it straight off. I was really surprised to see it turned down by default though.
I don’t understand why the inventor of the D pad can’t get it right on the pro controller 2. You know something’s wrong when you can’t get past the Street Fighter 6 tutorial because the D pad just cannot respond quick enough to double quarter circle moves.
I’m a very competent Street Fighter 6 player and I had no issues getting past the tutorial on a Xbox Series controller with the D pad is nice and clicky. It just baffles me how Nintendo can’t get this right.
I’ve gone through the settings a few times now and I still cannot find any battery options, like limiting it so it doesn’t charge past 80% or 90%. I did see someone set one up on YouTube and they had the settings available for the battery. I can’t understand why I can’t find it on my Switch 2, and I am in handheld mode when I look for battery settings. Can anyone please assist?
EDIT: I just found it. It is a bit buried away though under system settings. You just have to go into system settings and keep scrolling down.
I couldn’t complete the Street Fighter 6 tutorial (there’s a demo) because I couldn’t pull off one of Luke’s special moves, the double quarter circle move. I have absolutely no problem doing these moves on the Series X/S d pad.
I won’t be purchasing any Fighting games on the Switch 2, that’s for sure.
I purchased a Xbox One S partly because it was back was compatible with many of my purchases on the Xbox 360 marketplace that I had built up (and I was desperate to play Forza Horizon 3 amongst others). I have since purchased many games across Xbox 360 Xbox One and Series console. I currently have 774 games and I will be buying a the next generation Xbox because I want to continue to have access to my collection that I have built up.
I don’t just want to abandon my all digital games collection.
I have pre-ordered a Switch 2 but it will only be for Nintendo exclusives and third-party games that never make it to the Xbox like Pizza Tower, Into The Beach and others.
@axelhander, thanks. I did come across the 8bitdo pro controller for a reasonable £40 at amazon uk. Don’t like the position of the stick though.
Not sure if it’ll work on Switch 2 but it does have Blu tooth which I believe the Switch 2 has so I’m hopeful. I’d like to be able to wake the Switch 2 with it though.
I’m sure they’ll be many aftermarket solutions just like there was with the nitro deck and Hori split pad. Not sure if we can leave links down here.
@axelhander that’s very disappointing to hear, especially as I enjoy 2D indie games and 1 on 1 fighters.
I don’t do very well on arcade fight sticks, I actually perform better with a standard Series controller which may sound crazy. I’ve looked at those 8bitdo controllers but unfortunately they aren’t suitable for my hands as I have carpel tunnel and need the support that a controller with prongs offers. Anything flat is really bad for my hands.
As someone who will be new to a Switch (2) console (I passed on the original switch but I’ve pre-ordered a Switch 2 and the pro controller 2) I’m concerned about this rubberised feeling I’m hearing about and that the original pro controller did not have a very good D Pad.
I currently game on a Series X (have a Series S too) and the D pad on that lets me pull off special moves in Street Fighter 6 with ease. If it’s not a very good D pad I will have to continue purchasing 2D games on my Series X/S console.
I don’t know why Nintendo are so keen to kill off the D pad.
@Superweird. I'd love an endless mode as well. I just want to see how far I can go for on a set amount of lives. Can't be hard to include but Champion Edition 1 and the DX version didn't implement this much to my disappointment.
@AshFoxX: I used to play it on my DS Lite without an issues. Wouldn't it still be upside down on an SP model as cartridge slot is at the bottom of the unit?
Anyway it's well worth importing. I got my from a third party seller on the amazon uk market place.
I still have a boxed (mint) copy of this that I imported years ago. Only thing is I traded my DS Lite so lost the ability to GBA games.
I could pick a SP GBA model up but I've never found one in good enough condition, I should never have sold my beautiful metallic blue model all those years ago.
I have the screen scratching issue too. Those rubber feet on the top screen just didn't stick out enough to prevent the ridge out the bottom screen scratching the top screen.
Due this I called Nintendo on the above no. and they said they were aware of this issue and to send my 3DS back so they could look at it.
Nintendo kept me up to date with regular emails and now I repaired 3DS is on its way back to me, hopefully with larger rubber feet on the top screen.
It annoys me when people say this issue it a myth because it definately is not. I've looked at many pre owned 3DS consoles and some of them had 2 parallel lined scratches on the top screen whilst some other 3DS consoles had bigger/taller rubber feet on the top screen with prevents this issue.
It's obviously a manufacting issue with the 3DS and not myth. People without this problem just struck lucky.
Regarding my repair: it was free since I'm within my one year warranty. Nintendo even sent out a shipping label so I didn't have to pay postage

Re: Nintendo Reminds Mario Kart Players They Can Toggle Auto And Smart Controls
I was whizzing around the courses like a pro and something didn’t feel quite right, so I went off course it was only then it tried to correct me so I went to the menu and turned it straight off. I was really surprised to see it turned down by default though.
Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?
@Kaiffe123 I got those screen protectors too and they came with a frame guide.
Re: Review: Genki Attack Vector - A Modular Switch 2 Case Which Opts For Comfort Over Protection
@Danondorf: thanks, I found that helpful. I think I’m going to get the Skull & Co one from Amazon now.
Re: Switch 2 Pro Controller Teardown Gives Us A Good Look At The New Sticks
I don’t understand why the inventor of the D pad can’t get it right on the pro controller 2. You know something’s wrong when you can’t get past the Street Fighter 6 tutorial because the D pad just cannot respond quick enough to double quarter circle moves.
I’m a very competent Street Fighter 6 player and I had no issues getting past the tutorial on a Xbox Series controller with the D pad is nice and clicky. It just baffles me how Nintendo can’t get this right.
Re: Poll: Switch 2 Battery Reportedly Lasting Under Two Hours With Mario Kart - How Is Yours Holding Up?
I’ve gone through the settings a few times now and I still cannot find any battery options, like limiting it so it doesn’t charge past 80% or 90%. I did see someone set one up on YouTube and they had the settings available for the battery. I can’t understand why I can’t find it on my Switch 2, and I am in handheld mode when I look for battery settings. Can anyone please assist?
EDIT: I just found it. It is a bit buried away though under system settings. You just have to go into system settings and keep scrolling down.
Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - A New Benchmark In Comfort And Design
Re: Review: Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer (Switch 2) - Still A Thrill, More Than 30 Years Later
Ridge Racer 64 is a better value alternative, even if it can’t be actually be purchased.
Re: Xbox Has Reportedly Sidelined Its First-Party Handheld (For Now)
I purchased a Xbox One S partly because it was back was compatible with many of my purchases on the Xbox 360 marketplace that I had built up (and I was desperate to play Forza Horizon 3 amongst others).
Re: Arcade Archives 2: Ridge Racer
Great to know, thanks
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
@axelhander, thanks. I did come across the 8bitdo pro controller for a reasonable £40 at amazon uk. Don’t like the position of the stick though.
Not sure if it’ll work on Switch 2 but it does have Blu tooth which I believe the Switch 2 has so I’m hopeful. I’d like to be able to wake the Switch 2 with it though.
I’m sure they’ll be many aftermarket solutions just like there was with the nitro deck and Hori split pad. Not sure if we can leave links down here.
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
@axelhander that’s very disappointing to hear, especially as I enjoy 2D indie games and 1 on 1 fighters.
I don’t do very well on arcade fight sticks, I actually perform better with a standard Series controller which may sound crazy. I’ve looked at those 8bitdo controllers but unfortunately they aren’t suitable for my hands as I have carpel tunnel and need the support that a controller with prongs offers. Anything flat is really bad for my hands.
Re: Nintendo Today Video Showcases The New Switch 2 Pro Controller
Re: Review: Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus (Switch eShop)
@Superweird. I'd love an endless mode as well. I just want to see how far I can go for on a set amount of lives. Can't be hard to include but Champion Edition 1 and the DX version didn't implement this much to my disappointment.
Re: Review: WarioWare Twisted! (GBA)
@AshFoxX: I used to play it on my DS Lite without
an issues. Wouldn't it still be upside down on an SP
model as cartridge slot is at the bottom of the unit?
Anyway it's well worth importing. I got my from a third
party seller on the amazon uk market place.
Re: Review: WarioWare Twisted! (GBA)
I still have a boxed (mint) copy of this that I imported
years ago. Only thing is I traded my DS Lite so lost the
ability to GBA games.
I could pick a SP GBA model up but I've never found
one in good enough condition, I should never have
sold my beautiful metallic blue model all those years
ago.
Re: Mario Kart 7 To Get Shortcut-Fixing Patch
It should me mandatory like when Microsoft
sign you out of Xbox live if you don't update.
That's the most fair thing to do.
Re: Nintendo UK Launches Repair Website
@3d brains
I have the screen scratching issue too. Those rubber
feet on the top screen just didn't stick out enough
to prevent the ridge out the bottom screen scratching
the top screen.
Due this I called Nintendo on the above no. and they
said they were aware of this issue and to send my 3DS
back so they could look at it.
Nintendo kept me up to date with regular emails and
now I repaired 3DS is on its way back to me, hopefully
with larger rubber feet on the top screen.
It annoys me when people say this issue it a myth
because it definately is not. I've looked at many
pre owned 3DS consoles and some of them had
2 parallel lined scratches on the top screen whilst
some other 3DS consoles had bigger/taller rubber
feet on the top screen with prevents this issue.
It's obviously a manufacting issue with the 3DS and
not myth. People without this problem just struck lucky.
Regarding my repair: it was free since I'm within my
one year warranty. Nintendo even sent out a shipping
label so I didn't have to pay postage
