Re: Review: Mario Tennis Aces (Switch)

Saego

Sounds like a 9/10 for me. I like difficult games and grinding, so I can't wait to play. Might pick it up on my vacation, but playing through my backlog is more important at the moment.

I hope there is some kind of tutorial since the online demo was a little bit complicated; I didn't understand what I was doing at all.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fans Are Harassing Masahiro Sakurai Over Waluigi Snub

Saego

@MegaVel91 It is what @Tarolusa said. I feel honestly bad for Sakurai. He can't do anything good with Smash, according to this same group:
"It's not [smash_game_x]2, so it's bad."
"Ridley is not too big for smash, Sakurai, where is he???"
"I want [character_from_book_movies_game_tvshow] in Smash, otherwise I won't buy it."
"Omg, [character] doesn't fit in the roster!! Why did they include him??"
"I want a new [smash_mode]!"
"Please don't include [smash_mode] in this game, waste of efforts."

And yes, I'm over exaggerating. But compared to other communities, Smash is one of the worst. Especially the vocal part.

Re: Nintendo Says Labo Support Will Continue, Still Trying To Reach A Non-Gaming Audience

Saego

The problem with Labo is that you need a Switch for it.
How are you going to attract a non gaming audience with a console/handheld that costs $300?

Labo would work much lot better if it was with a system everyone has, like a tablet or phone. I'm sure there is a market, but just not combined with the Switch.

On the other hand, it gives the Switch library a lot of variety. But is that something most Switch owners want if we look at the current state of Labo? I don't think so.

Re: Review: Hollow Knight (Switch eShop)

Saego

I own it on Steam and still have to finish it after 20 hours. I want to 100% the game but I hate achievements involving time (looking at you, Ori). Might buy it on Switch too, but not sure.

Re: Poll: As "Gaming Disorder" Becomes A Thing, Is It Time To Assess How Much You Play?

Saego

So I'm busy with my internship at the moment, which is around 40 to 45 hours a week. I still need to study for my exams too, so at the moment I don't play games as much as I want to during business days. I play 10 ~ 20 hours a week, which is still a lot.

I'm 100% sure I had an addiction. I failed three years of school (1 year of highschool, two of college which is exactly a year ago) because of gaming. Although playing games are one of the most important things in my life, failing my two years in college wasn't worth it, except that I met my girlfriend and a lot of friends.

So yes, gaming can be an addiction, but anything can. You can play as much as you want, aslong as it doesn't interfere with your obligations (school, work, family, rent) and social life.

Re: Nintendo Is Open To Dropping The 'Direct' Approach At Future E3 Events

Saego

I've got mixed feelings about this. I really love live conferences: Microsoft was great and so was Bethesda and Ubisoft. But E3 2012 with the whole Nintendo Land was just so bad. The whole thing with the E3 Direct is that things can't go wrong; no awkward parts, just a nice edited presentation. The only problem this year was content and Nintendo raising expectations.

Re: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aimé Talks About His Feelings On Leaks In Gaming

Saego

I most of the time don't have a problem with leaks, but it depends on the size and content. I was really dissapointed when the Smash Bros Wii U leak was real, but the E3 leak this year didn't do anything for me.

EDIT: I find it actually very childish that people expect from NintendoLife that they stop posting rumours and leaks.

Re: Review: Fortnite (Switch eShop)

Saego

Fortnite is just not my game. I think I would really enjoy it if I invested time in it, but I'm very busy with other games. Plus, Fortnite can be very frustrating at some times. Might pick it up on Switch, but on PC with friends, it just wasn't my thing.

Re: Review: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion (Switch eShop)

Saego

The only complaint I have so far with the DLC is how the levels look. Mini spoilers ahead:
When I started the DLC, I was so happy with waking up in the metro. No open spaces, no weird platforms just floating, just a normal but good looking area. It felt right.

Then you do your first mission in the forest; same thing. I hoped it was like that through the whole DLC, but sadly it's not.

After the first level, it feels like the levels are just sort of mini games and not a whole campaign.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 2018 Went Big On Smash Bros. But Left Us Wanting More

Saego

It's was a dissapointing E3 in general. Nintendo was really bad, but so were Sony, EA and Square Enix. The only conference I really liked was Microsoft and PC Gaming, because they showed new and exciting games (Ooblet looks amazing!).
So, this is the thing. Fire Emblem looks great, just like Smash, and Mario Party could be great too, depending on how the board works and the mini games ofcourse. But the first one is early 2019, the second one is just a deluxe version of Wii U & 3DS (granted, there is still much we don’t know) and Mario Party is a fun game (with friends), but doesn’t feel near as big as the first two I mentioned. An the direct just suddenly ended. I had low expectations because I felt this was coming, and I was still dissapointed. And then they’ve got news about Octopass DLC, and don’t even share it on the Direct. It doesn’t make sense.
I much rather wanted to see a direct about only splatoon and smash with a tournament after the direct. That would make sense at least and wouldn’t get our hopes up.
But ah well, Nintendo has multiple directs and I can’t wait to see what they will show in Fall and/or Winter. We’ll have to see. I’ll be busy with my backlog anyway, and there are still a lot of (Nintendo) games coming, like Octopath.

Re: First Fortnite, Now Paladins Is Found On Nintendo's Switch Servers

Saego

Meh, Paladins. Don't like it, just as I don't like Hi-Rez. I wonder if the Switch version will have Battlegrounds (Battle Royal).

Edit: So apparently it will be 60 FPS and crossplay, with a file size of only 5.8 GB, which is fairly small. I understand HiRez is trying to make a good port, since it's the only platform where they don't have any competition (except for the Battle Royal mode). I don't see Overwatch releasing any time soon/ at all, which is good for HiRez.

Re: Video: Burn Some Rubber With Some New Team Sonic Racing Footage

Saego

So I don't mind that they ditch the other Sega characters, but this looks way too slow. There doesn't seem to be any speed involved whatsoever. I like the music and the stages and especially the part where the music changes based on the path you take is something Mario Kart could learn from.

Re: Pokémon Director Junichi Masuda Talks Uniting All Fans, Future Of The Core Series

Saego

I feel like they are making two groups of Pokémon fans instead of uniting them with the 'Let's Go' series, and I'm in the middle between them.

As a casual player (like @MysticX), I just want to battle, train and collect Pokémon. I love a good story and I love good gameplay, but I don't give a crap about the whole EV and IV training.

The lack of wild battles (and making your opponent weak enough to catch him), and less stats make me not want the buy the 'Let's Go' games because they just look too easy. Still going to buy it since my girlfriend forces me too.
