@thesilverbrick Honestly, I can't blame them. Yes, it's more expensive, but then again, we're talking about a succesful game device, while at the time that Nintendo released the Wii U, we knew it was a failure and there were a lot of rumours that Nintendo was working on a new system.
Yes, porting a game to the Switch doesn't cost a lot of resources. But the Wii U version did. Sunken costs and all that kind of stuff.
@thesilverbrick well, I wouldn't call it 'super evil'. I think the game is worth the 60 bucks, especially since it came out on a underrated game console. It deserves more love. And with love I mean more sales and positive opinions about the game.
@thesilverbrick It's not nice, I agree, but it's really smart if you think about it. Lots of people missed out on it when Nintendo released DK:TF on the Wii U. They either need to buy a Wii U or buy a Switch. Since the Switch has a future, most consumers are willing to pay 60 bucks for this game, unless you have the Wii U ofcourse.
I recommend Hollow Knight for every metroidvania fan. This is my first Metroidvania game, and granted, it was really hard and I've yet to finish it, but damn. The OST is amazing and every character is just so cute and interesting.
@ChibiNinja It depends on the quality of the games ofcourse. It's 'just' $10 more expensive than most other Switch game. But this bring an unique experience with them. Skylanders and Infinity are dying, it's a great time for companies to think of new ways to get kids to gaming.
If Nintendo Labo is going to be a succes, Nintendo has a real moneymaker in their hands.
Honestly, I think it's a great idea but the price might be too high. It's aimed for kids, like Nintendo stated multiple times. So I'm really surprised that there are a lot of people (although, less than I expected) offended by Nintendo Labo.
Seriously, it's not aimed at most of you people around here. And it's not $69,99 for only some cardboard. If that would be true, Breath of the Wild is just some plastic for $59,99.
I think it's great for kids but also for parents who like to build with their kids ánd play with their creation. I'm just curious if it's really going to be a big succes, since $69,99 ~ $79,99 is a lot. And if their kid doesn't own a Switch, they're paying extra.
@darkswabber I like NedGame for their PC prices, but everything Nintendo related is expensive (although we're talking about Nintendo here). But honestly, they accept pre orders right when a game's first trailer is released.
And for GameMania, I honestly think their trade in prices are low. I would always advise people to sell their games through Marktplaats, instead of GameMania or other stores. I can't blame GameMania for this though, they need to make profits too.
@1UP_MARIO Most people just like to defend Nintendo for their (stupid) choices. Honestly, sometimes more ís better. Yes, the Switch is for games. Does that mean apps like Netflix and Youtube shouldn't be on the Switch? Hell no!
@ryando I agree with this. Most people whining here that the Switch is a game console, are right, but that it doesn't need Netflix because of that it just dumb reasoning. Yes, there are TONS of way to watch Netflix, but some people want to watch them on a console. Those people are a target audience too, and maybe an important one. The same for webbrowser and other apps.
Honestly, I'm really surprised there is a markt for games like these outside of Japan. Aside from that, won't buy this. There is a part of Xenoblade 2 I don't like just because of the blades not wearing a lot of cloth. I don't mind nudity, but there has to be a reason for it.
Nintendo doing VR would be just a waste of money. Honestly, the Vive is a great piece of hardware but most of the games feel like demo's instead of actually being a game. It's fun and all, but just too expensive. Plus, it's not relaxing at all. Most of the times I just want to lie in bed, pick up a controller and play.
I don't own a 4K TV yet (maybe in the future), but Breath of the Wild looks beautiful without.
Probably going to pick it up after I finished Battle Kingdom and Xenoblade, since there won't be a lot of games around that time for Switch. Is there a physical version of this though, or is it e-shop only (Europe)?
Most important is Discord honestly. Voice chat in the Switch is just só bad, and it would help Nintendo a lot. Netflix and a activity log would be nice too, but not necessary.
@Paraka MK8D was a nice filler alongside Breath of the Wild. I think it's good all/most Wii U games are being ported to the Switch, it gives the Switch an even better line up.
Good direct for the people who missed the Wii U, but aside from Kirby and Dark Souls, it was pretty 'meh' for me. It's going to be a slow Nintendo year, which I expected.
I think this would be amazing. Even if Steep would hit the Switch, it's not nearly as fun as 1080. Hopefully this is a remaster, but like most people said, it's probably a re-release.
Man, that BotW background is ugly on the Switch. I love that the OS is simple and clean. I just hope Nintendo brings out simple wallpapers for the Switch instead of what they did with 3DS.
The game looks amazing, although I don't really like fighters. Probably not buying it since there isn't a story mode. I don't have a lot of time for another multiplayer game (too busy with Overwatch).
I'm just going in with no expectations, if there is a direct coming. I feel like this year is going to be the year of PS4 and that we have to wait for 2019 where all the 'big' Nintendo titles will launch.
I played MH4U on 3DS (30 hours in) and I enjoy the game a lot although I think that it is sometimes a challenge. Just bring it out for PC or Switch (or both) and make the controls feel less clunky. Then I'm happy.
I feel like, aside from succes, it has something to do with Nintendo pushing out more games faster for the Switch. If you look at Xenoblade 2, it feels quite rushed talking about optimalisation. Same for the Zelda Botw DLC 2 and same for Mario Odyssey (a lot of small worlds).

Re: Nintendo Applies For New Animal Crossing Trademark in Japan, Switch Game On The Way?
@Anti-Matter That is a really crappy way of reasoning something. Just because something happened in the past, doesn't mean it's going to happen again.

Plus, we're both living in a capitalist market.
Re: Video: Not Everyone Is Pleased With Nintendo Labo
Those "WHERE'S SMASH 4D ????///?/" comments are so obnoxious.

Aside from that, there probably are going to be some designs from users who copied Nintendo's design.

@Mikemario Seriously? You know that Nintendo has al kind of departments right? GameFreak has nothing to do with Nintendo Labo. It's coming either way.
Re: Hands On: The Future Of Gaming Is Cardboard, Thanks To Nintendo Labo
@Luna_110 They will, in the Netherlands atleast. They will let you play with Nintendo Labo here on 16, 17 and 18 March at various locations.

Re: DK Will Star in New DLC Coming to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
Rabbid Peach and Donkey Kong = goals.
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze And Hyrule Warriors Are Coming To Switch
@sillygostly I hated the co-op in 3D World. It tries to be too competitive when you're with more than 2 players.
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze And Hyrule Warriors Are Coming To Switch
This is good news though! It's an amazing game which deserves to be on the Switch.

Re: Video: With All These Rumours, What Could Actually Be in Switch Firmware Version 5.0?
Just stay away with the ugly themes like the 3DS had.
Re: Guide: How To Beat The Tamer's Trial In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC
@Biff_ARMStrong Yeah, Urbosa's Fury is a must, otherwise it's impossible. I had a hard time with that Water Ganon too. Just bad design, to be honest.
Re: Guide: How To Beat The Tamer's Trial In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC
@marandahir Don't agree. They just explained more about the Champions. It added more story to theirs. So not completely new.
Re: Guide: How To Beat The Tamer's Trial In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC
@SimplyCinnamon53 It's not a new story. The DLC explains more about the Champions, which I liked. Although I would prefer a new story, but still.
Re: Guide: How To Beat The Tamer's Trial In Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’s Champions’ Ballad DLC
I played the whole game including DLC in Master Mode and boy, was it though. It felt like the 2nd DLC wasn't made for Master Mode at all.
Re: Action-Adventure Platformer The Forbidden Arts Will Set the Switch Alight Next Year
Well.. I like the vibe this game is going for. But honestly, those textures are bad and bland.

Re: Nintendo of Russia Appears to Confirm Incoming Nintendo Direct
Cool, I'm going in without any expectations. Won't be dissapointed that way.
Re: It Appears That Nintendo Has Unfinished Business With The 1080° Snowboarding Series
I think this would be amazing. Even if Steep would hit the Switch, it's not nearly as fun as 1080. Hopefully this is a remaster, but like most people said, it's probably a re-release.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 May Be Getting a Physical Release
Cool. Might buy it, depends on the next steam sale.
Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Rises Up The UK Charts
"ARMS is better than Kingdom Battle!!!"
"no, Kingdom battle is better!!!!"
Wow. Just choose for yourself people. I don't like fighting games, doesn't mean Kingdom Battle is a better game. Stop making these dumb lists.

Re: Random: The Creator Of Black Mirror Got The BBC To Play A Game Boy Tune To Millions
I watched season 4 with my girlfriend a few days ago, and I liked it. Although, I feel like the series tries so hard to be dark.
Nice to know more about Brooker, it's fun to read this kind of stuff.
Re: Nintendo's Damon Baker Hints At An Even Bigger Year For Switch in 2018
Playing Wolfenstein II on PC at the moment and I recommend it a lot. The game is amazing. Can't wait for the Switch community to pick it up.
Other than that, I'll just wait and see what Nintendo announces at their Direct. Not building any hype, because that mostly leads to dissapointment.
Re: Feature: What We Expect From The Inevitable January 2018 Nintendo Direct
I'm just going in with no expectations, if there is a direct coming. I feel like this year is going to be the year of PS4 and that we have to wait for 2019 where all the 'big' Nintendo titles will launch.
Re: Feature: Memorable Games of 2017 - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

I don't mind that strategy though.
