Now you can use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con to toss a Poké Ball at your target with one hand, either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist. With fewer buttons and intuitive action, it’s never been simpler.'

@Nudawa Just read my comment carefully. There are trainer battles, yes. But (as far as we know based on the official website and trailer) there aren't battles with Pokémon you encounter in the wild.
@FTL The only information we have, is the trailer and the offical Nintendo and Pokémon Company websites. It's not stated there that wild pokémon battles are missing. In the trailer however, we see a small glimpse what happens when you encounter a wild Pokémon, with the options to: get ready (so that you can throw a Pokéball), use item, runaway and help. There's also an indicator to show how many Pokéballs you have left.
On the site however, I found the following: "The practice of catching Pokémon has been changed dramatically from previous titles. Now you can use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con to toss a Poké Ball at your target with one hand, either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist. With fewer buttons and intuitive action, it’s never been simpler."
@samuelvictor I wouldn't say that it's clearly a spinoff, really. It's just a remake with Pokémon GO intergration, which on paper sounds really good. The only difference is that there are wild Pokémon which move around freely, instead of being hidden in grass & caves, which is a nice step to new Pokémon RPG's. And that the wild Pokémon battles are missing, which is just so weird.
@samuelvictor The 'core' gamers are just let down by the fact that the battles with pokemon which you encounter in the wild, are gone. It's just such a weird design choice.
This all feels like a huge step back, but that's due to lack of information. I feel like there is a reason to not fight wild Pokémon, but only catch them (besides the reason it's based of GO ofcourse).
I found this on the website though: "The practice of catching Pokémon has been changed dramatically from previous titles. Now you can use your Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con to toss a Poké Ball at your target with one hand, either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist. I'm glad that it's not only going to be playable through motion control, but still. I feel like without it's going to be very, very boring.
This looks really good. I don't necessarily like pinball games, but Metroidvania really has my interest since I played Hollow Knight and Ori and the Blind Forest, which I both really love.
Almost 300 hours in Stardew Valley, started a new farm a week ago and I'm already 40 hours in. Almost got 400K in one year and a completed community centre, so I got that going for me which is nice.
@TommyTLG Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, is an talented American actor, comedian, writer, director, record producer, singer, songwriter, rapper and DJ.
I don't really like to collect things and this one of the reasons why. They're nice looking and I'm sure they're made with lots of love. But I don't really know where to store this AND they're just way too expensive.
Going to play some Overwatch, Stardew Valley and probably Mario + Rabbids. (The rabbid figures are in sale at the Ubisoft shop for VERY cheap; buy 3 big figures and one small one and you don't have to pay shipping costs)
Oh man. All these sour comments, what a great read.
As a person who doesnt use his Switch much for multiplayer, except some Splatoon 2 matches, I really don't care to pay a minimum of €4.40 (!) a year. I'm surprised to hear that cloud saving is not going to be free, but I hope that Nintendo adds a feature where you can back it up on your SD card or even HDD. But if they don't, they don't.
And yes, voice chat sucks. But luckily, I never use it and I never will. Discord is the better option. It's just sad to see the Switch, an amazing system, which doesn't even have a simple, smooth and working messaging system.
@cleveland124 Wii U is just wishfull thinking. Instead of selling their games for $60 as a defenitive edition, Nintendo will just put their games tagged as Virtual console and sell them.for 20 ~ 30. That doesn't make sense, at all.
But aside from that, not all (S)NES games are available on the mini system, just like they aren't on Virtual Console.
I get why it is nice, but it's not needed. Nintendo surely has a reason to stop with VC. There are tons of ways to play the games you missed.
I just don't understand the appeal for Virtual Console. I own a few on 3DS because of the Ambassador program, but that's it. I don't really care about this, at all.
Besides, we've got the mini consoles now. And you 'own' NES games when you have an online subscription.
I can recall that the Wii games on Wii U didn't have the Virtual Console tag on them too, but maybe I'm wrong.
I really liked what Kimishima did with Nintendo from business perspective. Curious to see what Furukawa opinion is going to be on Nintendo's future. Wish them both the best.
Have to admit that I stopped playing Animal Crossing a few months ago, but I finally started playing Pokemon Go. Glad to hear that mobile apps were a good decision.
@Sgt-Jack-V Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, even though people think it's wrong. There is no need for @Anti-Matter to state his opinion on every article which has something to do with age rating, but then again, it's a forum. Best thing to do is to ignore it.
However, there is no need to insult someone. Ironically, your comment will probably be removed by the mods while Anti-Matter's won't.

@Stocksy Smash is not on the list, while we know it'll be there and probably playable. If this is true, it's not the complete list.
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May (Europe)
Might buy Yokus, because it reminds me of Ori. Will download Pokémon Quest this weekend too, same with Mario Tennis Demo.
Re: Nintendo Announces Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee! For Nintendo Switch
@Spectra "either by pressing a button or flicking your wrist." They're optional.

@MattFox Nobody said a thing about no battles, at all.
People were dissapointed that there are no battles with pokémon you encounter in the wild.

@SegaBlueSky You can literally see it in the trailer at 1:22. Also, when you encounter a Pokémon in the wild, you see CP aswell as Lvl at 1:36.

Much better name. Atleasts it feels like Nintendo tries to be a part of E3 with their presentation now.
I can't wait to see how their stand looks like. Last year it was beautiful, so jealous I wasn't there.

I still don't get why they haven't yet. Especially now that there are a lot of reasons to believe Fortnite is coming to the Switch.
Re: Soapbox: Let's Give Nintendo Switch Online A Chance Before We Throw It To The Wolves
Nintendo is only good for their first party. Expecting more, like too many do / did here and you'll be dissapointed.
Can't wait to pay €4.40 a year for online and cloud backup. What a bargain.

I don't mind paying €4.40 a year for cloud saves, but it's just a nice option to have.
