Re: Soapbox: Call Of Duty Can Work On Switch, Activision Just Needs To Pull The Trigger

@Deathwalka Yeah, I remember it had something to do with Pascal and Maxwell chips. Nintendo didn't want to launch their system higher than a price 350, because their rivals already did that. Plus, the better chip would probably give you 5 ~ 10 frames extra compared to the other, which is a lot but it's still not close to Sony their game devices. Especially if you compare it to the PS4 Pro and xBox One X who are able to run native 4K and HDR.

For the games on eShop, I agree with you. But that's the same for Steam (PC). There are a lot of gems, like Stardew Valley, Flame in the Flood, Oxenfree, Worms, Portal Knights, Steamworld Dig 2, Hollow Knight (my favourite alongside Stardew), Shovel Knight, Golf Story, Binding of Isaac, Axiom Verge, Thimbleweed Park, Terraria ( on it's way), Yooka Laylee and much more.

For the Nintendo titles themself, we've got the best Hack & Slash ever: Bayonetta 2. Alongside that: Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Dragon Quest Builders, FE, Dark Souls, Payday, Hyrule Warriors, Wolfenstein 2, Mario Tennis, Kirby and Yoshi. It's not as good as 2017 probably, but 2019 is going to rock for sure.

Re: Soapbox: Call Of Duty Can Work On Switch, Activision Just Needs To Pull The Trigger

@Deathwalka I get your point, but like you said, power isn't everything. Yeah, the Switch won't get Monster Hunter World because of power. But does a xBone S have Breath of the Wild or Mario Odyssey? Every system has it's ups and down, so it all depends on what games you want to play if you can only buy one gaming system.

But honestly, the Switch is a really powerfull device for a hybrid system. It's amazing that Doom can run on the Switch.

Re: Review: Dragon Quest Builders (Switch)

Saego

@Agent721 I like this different take on Minecraft, instead of going on this adventure to kill the Ender Dragon (and make your adventure as easy as possible) you get this adventure to build a civilization..

But thanks for your advice, I'll probably just wait for this to be around $30.

Re: Switch Now Has Three Times As Many Games as Wii U Did At This Point In Its Lifecycle

Saego

@Crono1973 Chrono Trigger is a really bad example.. Let's take Doom for example. A high quality game that requires a lot of power to run, which the Switch apparantly has. It's not an old pixel game, it's new and it looks amazing.

That aside, it doesn't matter how you play Doom, on TV or handheld. It's just that you can play anywhere you like, anyway you like.

Honestly, I'm sure Nintendo is working at a successor for the 3DS. But the Wii U is dead, get over it.

Re: Switch Now Has Three Times As Many Games as Wii U Did At This Point In Its Lifecycle

Saego

@Crono1973 It's a matter of perspective. Some are comparing the Switch to a handheld, some are comparing it to a console. But it's a hybrid, it combines the two. Most people forget about that in their discussions which I think is a mistake.

Aside from that, it's the first system that gives you the possibility to play console games on the go. (3)DS, Gameboy and even the Vita weren't strong enough to play Dark Souls, for example. So let me put it like this; it's a system which plays most of the game the xBone and PS4 has, but you can play it on the go. I think that's amazing.

And for your second problem, the Switch does what the 3DS does, but better. I hate picking up my 3DS after playing for a while on the Switch, it's just a downgrade. Take Persona 5 for example, what if it only came out for PS3, while the PS4 was out on the market. I would still buy it and play it, but in my head, I'm just thinking about how much better it would play and look on the PS4. And it's just easier to have most games on the system you play at that time the most.

Re: Video: Square Enix Discusses The Response To Project Octopath Traveler

Saego

These development videos are genious, every developer should do this. It adds extra value to the game because you feel connected to it.

Aside from that, this game looks good. Might pick it up for €30. Only thing I don't like are the visuals. I praise the developers for trying something new, but in my opinion, it just doesn't work. The art style around the main characters is genious, wish they would do more with that.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Says Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is "Maybe The Most Fun" He's Had Making Games

Saego

@Bunkerneath I really don't agree with this. They just put you into this big destroyed world and you only have on objective, to destroy Ganon. How you do it, what kind of tools you use; it's all your choice.

Aside from that, most games give you all tools / powers throughout the game, I liked how Breath of the Wild did that different. It makes the game feel very different compared to other.

Re: Review: Lost Sphear (Switch eShop)

Saego

Might pick it up if there's a price drop. I still play the old FF and I am Satsuna and Lost Sphear do remind me a lot of them.
For the story aspect; I can't wait to experience it myself. I loved the story from Xenoblade 2, while there are a lot of complaints out there.

Re: Epic Games Is Interested in Bringing Fortnite to the Switch

Saego

@LightBeam Paragon is a dead horse to begin with. There are more than enough MOBA's on the market right now, there isn't really room for Paragon, so honestly, it's better if they focus on Fortnite, because it could get bigger than PUBG.

And for PUBG on PC. It's better now it "launched", but honestly. the 1.0 patch shouldn't be seen as a full release at all. The game is still buggy, it lacks new maps, weapons and vehicles. Wouldn't say it's a bad game though, it has this amazing fun factor. But so does Fortnite.

Re: Epic Games Is Interested in Bringing Fortnite to the Switch

Saego

@Mr_Horizon I like how Epic Games support their Battle Royal game far better than PUBG Corporation. They add a lot of stuff to their game, while PUBG doesn't.

Aside from that, PUBG runs very bad. The developers don't even try to fix it, it seems.

In the end they are both fun games but Epic Games put a lot more love in their games. If you're used to the basic PUBG mechanics, you probably won't like the 'extra' building mechanics in Fortnite.

Re: Soapbox: Miitomo's Days Are Numbered, But Its Death Was Written In The Stars From The Start

Saego

I liked Miitomo a lot. Yes, it's very different from the usual Nintendo games, but we're talking about a Smartphone app here.

Aside from that, it relies too much on the activity from your friends (or strangers you met on the internet). Which isn't that bad, I played Miitomo for a year and I had a great time with it. Now it's gone and I don't mind.

I'm very curious though how much money went into Miitomo and how much it earned.

Re: Miitomo Meets Its End On 9th May

Saego

It relies too much on your friends to make it fun. It's just not fun in singleplayer, so I'm not surprised about Miitomo shutting down.

I had a lot of fun with it though, so it's still kind of sad. I hope Nintendo made a nice profit with this app.
