Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Raging Bolt In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Ryne-Gaia

I think personally Walking Wake looked worse so anyone losing their minds over Raging Bolt need to chill a little. When I say it looked worse mind you I just felt it’s design was way too crowded. As for raging bolt I think it’s neat and fun honestly. It makes me look forward to both Entei and the other Unova Pokemon that’s left getting a update as well. Funny enough tho the fact we keep getting these two different generation reps paired together does make me think maybe the future of Pokémon at least until a GEN 10 mind you is in both Johto AND Unova in some way. Speaking of Unova while the article doesn’t bring much attention to it I do think these all metallic versions of the Unova Pokémon look incredibly sleek and excellent.

Re: Talking Point: Should The Pokémon Company Stick To Just One Pokémon Presents A Year?

Ryne-Gaia

So I voted that this presentation was a 7. Personally I thought it was good because I generally liked each of the announcements they did even if I don’t play the games. Tatsugiri is coming to Cafè? Cool it looks adorable even if I don’t play the game. I think people get way too excited for these things in the sense they expect them to drop something on the level of like a FFVII Remake internet shattering thing like”DID YOU SEE THAT POKÉMON PRESENTS.” Like at most I was expecting news on the next game but in all honesty I was kidding myself it’s way too early for that. That’s probably next February irregardless of what kind of game it is and the only way they don’t reveal that is if it’d for switch 2 and they gotta hold back on account of Nintendo not revealing it. I thought maybe this Presents had a little too much anime in the sense it feels they have like 10 web mini series things going at once. Also it feels like they’re pushing Paldea way harder then any other regions. The only other things I wanna say on the topic is this: 1. I don’t think The Pokemon Company should do two of these outside of a new mainline game reveal where the initial reveal is February. When that occurs yeah they can do 2 like with scarlet and violet and be like look in the second one we have terastralizing and Team Star. They could have done that with the DLC but honestly the little they’re showing of both of them gives me this vibe that like these DLCs are gonna be super short. And that brings me to 2. The only thing that really disappointed me was no date for DLC2. I think they should have just given you the dates for both and then you know when to expect all things Pokemon. I do hope it comes out this year tho and we’re not left with a weird straddle of 2024: Half of a DLC, a new mainline duo/legends sequel or whatever, any spin-offs they wanna put out next year too.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: The Legend Of Zelda

Ryne-Gaia

Voted for Japan FDS on this one. Again it comes down to what’s being portrayed that would win me over in a store and sure while the NA one may be “iconic.” It’s absolutely boring as sin and completely unappealing. Both Japanese ones at least show me my hero and what the world is like and like the crumbling stone hints at a kinda rough time which in essence is the original legend of Zelda.

Re: Talking Point: Which Nintendo IP Should 'Switch 2' Launch With?

Ryne-Gaia

I’m gonna go ahead and just state the semi obvious. It’ll launch with the best Mario game yet and I’m not being hyperbolic. It’ll launch with a open world Mario game on the level of BOTW or TOTK. Something that will score 10s across the board and will be such a talk of the world to rival animal crossing so that this new thing sells like the devil,

Re: Devolver Will Reveal All Games Pushed To 2024 In Next Week's 'Devolver Delayed' Showcase

Ryne-Gaia

When I’m in a being the most unfunny thing ever completion and my opponent is Devolver Digital: 😨😨😨😨😨😨😨😰😰😰😰😰😰😰😨😰😰😥😰😨😰😨😰😰😰😰😰. Jokes aside tho yeah if this is serious and all about hey we’re delaying games I do hope plucky squire and gunbrella aren’t there. Then again this could be their quirky little way of showing off these games they know aren’t releasing this year but want a way to get more eyes on it.

Re: Pokémon Presents August 2023: Time, Where To Watch, Our Predictions

Ryne-Gaia

Minus probably the adding old Pokémon games to switch online thing I actually agree with basically everything this article has said. I think release dates for both parts of the DLC and I think that could be like September 25th and November 28th respectively. All the shows and anime and stuff in its own section. Maybe a gameplay deep dive for Detective Pikachu. And yeah honestly maybe a tease for what’s next for Pokémon like another Arceus game. Like when they fully announced BDSP I think it went like this they honestly just went and said look at this: ARCEUS, MOON, POKÉMON LEGENDS ARCEUS. RELEASING 2023. And then later we got more info. I could see the same here.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1's Story Will Be Similar In Length To MK11 And X

Ryne-Gaia

As long as it’s a decent story mode that when I beat it I go wow that was pretty good thanks Mortal Kombat I’ll be happy. I’m always advocating for longer story modes don’t get me wrong but Mortal Kombat ain’t Street Fighter VI there’s no open world exploring it’s mostly a movie you can play.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1's Story Will Be Similar In Length To MK11 And X

Ryne-Gaia

@SalvorHardin the fact they keep talking about the past timeline as well as the fact that it would just generally be really stupid of them to say oh the next game is MK2 makes me think yeah at some point the while it’s a reboot thing will get thrown away and it’s just MK12. I mean when they did MK 2009 or whatever the next game wasn’t MK2 again was it? Nah MKX.

Re: Review: Venba – A Narrative Cooking Game That Goes Down A Treat

Ryne-Gaia

The other thing tho and this is not aimed at Nintendo Life specifically but more just something I noticed from ALL the reviewers of this game like IGN, GameSpot and so on. For these reviews they bring out their South Asian I believe the term is reviewers and like yeah no duh it’s their culture. It’s not that that I’m upset with but rather the fact that it’s like I wish these people weren’t just trotted out because they were commenting on their connection to the culture. They deserve the spotlight beyond just this is what I’m trying to say. This reviewer should be like headlining the Mario Wonder review or something this review was top quality. Again I’m by no means making any bigoted or inflammatory comments here I guess all of this is my roundabout way of saying give this reviewer more work they’re amazing.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Illusion Of Gaia

Ryne-Gaia

Giving this one to Japan easy. It’s a mix of the best things from all of them. The planets. The dudes in space from the Germany box art. And even the new addition of the little pixel characters at the bottom. Like with most of these I judge it by would I pick this up if I saw it in the store today and the answer for the Japanese one is yes please.

Re: Review: The Legend Of Zelda: Oracle Of Seasons - An Underappreciated Old-School Adventure

Ryne-Gaia

I’ve always wanted to play the Oracle games ever since I was a kid. I think I had Some spare eshop money left over as a kid and that was how I got Links Awakening DX and I played it through and loved it. That and the mangas for the Oracle games I would always rent from the library always had me captivated. Maybe now with them on switch I’ll finally correct this error and make child me happy

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 29th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well I made it through that week of early shifts. YIPPEE. 🎉 And I have lots of games played to show for it. Like Pikmin and more progress made in Trails To Azure. I did however drop a game and that’s Advance Wars. Mission 23 is just impossible even with a step by step guide and I’m just done making myself miserable. Anyways onto this week. For once I have a Saturday off so I’m finally gonna start Rain Code to celebrate and then late night finally get back to my darling FFXVI. The week ahead has mixed days of early and late so on early days I think I’ll finally start Ghost Trick and Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed and on late days well that will be FFXVI nights. Also with the announcement of FFXIV Dawntrail I’m planning on finally getting back to and Conquering my fear of FFXIV: Endwalker in early August. Very hype for EVO next weekend and loving the FFXIV fan fest this weekend. Anime for the weekend is simple y’all already know we going Atelier Ryza, My Tiny Senpai, ZOM 100, Liar Liar and Ayaka. Music of the weekend is SF6 OST, RWBY V9 OST, Summer anime OPs and podcasts are Castle Superbeast and Into The Aether. Happy gaming and have a great weekend everyone,

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 22nd)

Ryne-Gaia

Right so this weekend is a interesting one. The game I chose to main as the article said this weekend is Advance Wars, HOWEVER THERES A TWIST. That’s most likely for tomorrow Sunday. That’s because today I’ll most likely have no gaming as I embark on the weekend event of Barbenheimer. That’s right I’m seeing the two movies like probably half of America at this point. Technically I’ve participated in Barminheimer by picking up Pikmin 4 as well but I won’t be playing that. For Advance Wars I’m actually having slight fun by following a IGN Video Guide to the T so I’m almost done with it instead of struggling and getting really upset. I’m on Mission 19. Over on the PS5 I’ll most likely be playing some FFXVI tonight and due to special circumstances this week honestly probably some RE5, Fortnite, SF6 and other assorted fighting games but I’ll get to that in a bit. I actually beat RE5 this week so I just gotta wrap up the other DLC and then I can move onto RE6 for my marathon. As for anime this weekend it’s simple. Some Atelier Ryza, My Tiny Senpai, Zom 100, Liar Liar, Ayaka, and one of my new all time favorites Bungou Stray Dogs. As for those special circumstances this week I have basically nothing but morning shifts whereas normally I have nothing but night shifts. Now this is slightly bad for me as I stay up late hahahaha. But you know what it isn’t bad for? SWITCH GAMESSSSSSSSSSS. I’ve plans to go on a game starting Smorgasbord. Plans currently are sessions for Trails To Azure and Advance Wars to make progress in them. But also to start loads of games like Paranormasight, We ❤️ Katamari, Ghost Trick, Rain Code and of course Pikmin 4. Granted there won’t be much PS5 gaming but that’s why I labeled games that are easy to jump in and do a couple rounds in like fighting games, Fortnite and the minimal wrapping I gotta do in RE5. Very very excited about all this. Happy Gaming to everyone and have a excellent weekend everyone.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Pikmin 4

Ryne-Gaia

It’s sitting at a 88 on Metacritic. For context that is one point more then FFXVI one of the more undisputed GOTY contenders outside of TOTK. Pretty impressive for a game people thought wasn’t real or would never come out huh?

Re: Review: Pikmin 4 - Relaxed, Refined Real-Time Strategy, Ready To Crack The Mainstream

Ryne-Gaia

The fact that they say the campaign is 30 PLUS HOURS. I’m like I’m gonna kiss you reviewers you beautiful magnificent people you don’t understand the levels of hype that makes me that this’ll be a nice long game that I can take my time and not worry I’m rushing through like I did with Pikmin 3 on both Wii U AND Switch. I’m extremely excited for this game and with respect to both reviews on this the cons are unimportant to me so while they made this review a 9/10 to me remove that and it’s a 10/10 and I’ve gotten a lot of those this year so I am HYPE.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Teases "A Panel You Won't Want To Miss" At Comic-Con

Ryne-Gaia

Comic Con this year is gonna be super weird with this strike going on and none of these actors attending but I’m curious what makes it not missable. I imagine revealing homelander or something but these dudes don’t do that. They reveal the whole roster. Then release the game. Then wait a couple months. Maybe put out one character like they did with Shang Tsung in 11. Then reveal the whole pack. But two of the characters in the leak are COMIC characters so 🤷‍♂️

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia

Ryne-Gaia

I picked the American box art for this one as I like the backdrop better and again I’ll always say the more characters the better. Again I gotta say if I saw this as a kid I would pick it up just solely based off how cool I think Shanoa looks like. But also for me the Europe and Japan boxes look like they would be a Bayonetta Box art even if it’s 2 years before the original Bayonetta released.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 15th)

Ryne-Gaia

Right this weekend is a kinda simple one. Having beaten Bayonetta Origins earlier this week I’m putting a pause on my work through Nintendo 1st Party backlog and swapping over to my 3rd Party Backlog hence my choice this week of Trails To Azure. I’m on chapter 2 and am really looking to speed through this game so I can get to Reverie. Honestly I’m almost tempted to just start Reverie for a little today just to get a taste of the game I’ve been waiting for 3 years for. I already got in some participation of the Splatfest in Splatoon this weekend. Team Mint Chip so as to be able to play with friends. Might get some Mario Kart in this weekend too so as to try the new tracks out too. Over on PS5 it’s a random time consisting of playing FFXVI, buying Witch on the Holy Night and reinstalling DNF Duel and buying its first DLC character Spectre. In other areas my sweatshirt of one of my favorite VTUBERS Sinder finally came in so I’m fairly happy with that. The Limited Edition copies of Rain Code are finally out so hopefully my copy arrives soon of that. And I’m getting ready to start my Summer Anime finally with the inaugural first two of the season, Atelier Ryza and My Tiny Senpai. I did finish up all my spring anime this week with the finishing one being Gundam Witch and seeing as it took Second in my overall ranking only beaten out by the immeasurable Oshi No Ko I imagine y’all can guess my feelings on it hahahaha. Wishing everyone a awesome weekend and Happy Gaming y’all.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions

Ryne-Gaia

Gotta go with Europe on this one. Not only is it visually appealing to me but I love box arts with all sorts of characters and nice backgrounds. On top of that the Europe box art genuinely reminds me of the old GBA box arts. The NA/Japanese ones are like a odd mix of the European lots of stuff here and the whole Mario and Luigi on a white box they’ve started since Bowsers Inside Story.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 8th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is kinda simple. On the switch side of things I’m just gonna keep going at Bayonetta Origins. Still a absolutely amazing game and again honestly kinda my Nintendo GOTY so far. I’m catching up on those Nintendo 1st Parties as I think all I got after this is the Fire Emblem Fell Xenologue, Advance Wars, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed and Tears of the Kingdom. So I’m thinking on how/when to swap over to third party catch ups as over on that front I got a whole lot like Octopath Traveler 2, Paranormasight, Trails to Azure, Atelier Ryza 3, WE ❤️ KATAMARI, Ghost Trick and soon to be Rain Code and Trails into Reverie. Honestly if anyone has any thoughts and ideas lemme know I would appreciate it. Speaking of Rain Code I wanna play it so bad but I still gotta wait until at least the 18th. Stinking customs…… Tho Amazon ain’t just screwing me on that but Reverie too that’s coming in like 4 days too. Over on the PS front it’s pretty simple not sure if I’ll play some more XVI later as I’m really enjoying it and don’t wanna just blast through it. Maybe I’ll get back into SF6 as I’m really excited for Rashid and would definitely love to earn some trophies for like World Tour mode or Battle Hub. This week I was able to buy Resident Evil Village's Winters Expansion and Lost Judgment’s The Kaito Files so I reinstalled Lost Judgment as well as RE5, 6, and 7. I’m now all set to finish up my Yakuza and Resident Evil marathons. The Resident Evil one has definitely taught me some interesting things about that series that I wanna elaborate on when I’m done with it. Over on the anime front I’m impressed at the fact I now only have two animes left to wrap up after finishing Demon Slayer last night and that is Mobile Suit Gundam Witch From Mercury and Birdie Wing. That and catching up on this new show I love now called Bungo Stray Dogs. Once I finish Witch and Birdie I’ll be able to put together my top spring list and I’m really excited to see how that comes together. As for my early Summer picks currently I’m looking at Atelier Ryza, Jujutsu Kaisen, Liar Liar and Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Season 2. Overall big excited feelings heading into less then two weeks until Pikmin 4. Have a good weekend y’all and Happy Gaming as always.

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th July (North America)

Ryne-Gaia

@Shiro28 Technically on switch the chronological first is Trails From Zero but the first overall is Trails in the Sky tho that’s on PC. The latest to come out here is Trails to Reverie while over in Japan it’s Kuro No Kiseki II Crimson Sin. If you want a quick rough order it’s Sky-> Sky SC-> Sky the 3rd->Zero->Azure-> Cold Steel 1-> Cold Steel 2-> Cold Steel 3-> Cold Steel 4->Reverie-> (JP Only right now) Kuro 1->Kuro 2.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 1st)

Ryne-Gaia

Right this weekends kinda simple. Had a early shift of work and now a later shift of work so gamings kinda all over the place hahaha. Beat Metroid Prime last week. Thought it was pretty great. That makes this weekends game Kirby Return to Dreamland Deluxe. I beat the main story on it and I think all I have to do is just one more boss in Magolors Epilogue. Excellent game and excited to move on to the next game in my chronological Nintendo backlog: my GOTY Bayonetta Origins. Simply loving it. Over on the PS5 I do have one specific game I’m hoping to beat the story of soon. Doing that and getting to delete it would free up so much storage for me hahaha. I also got Tunic on there this week so I wanna check that out. Tho who am I kidding I’m glued to FFXVI that game is absolutely amazing in every form I know I’m still at the beginning but I’ve loved every character they’ve put in front of me it’s great. As for the anime front I’m still working on finishing up my spring animes. So far I’ve finished Yuri is my Job, Rokudos Bad Girls, The Marginal Service and Hells Paradise. Why just today alone I wanna do a hat trick and finish My Home Hero, Yamada Kun, and Mashle. Then I’ll only have my continuing Spring anime like Gundam Witch and some other new ones like Cafè Terrace to finish up before starting some excellent Summer ones like Atelier Ryza. Man that one makes me wanna get back into Ryza 3. Otherwise I’m looking to pick up a copy of Ghost Trick for me and a friend and impatiently wait for my special edition or Rain Code to come July 18th because of the Customs delay 😤. Hope everyone has a great weekend and Happy Gaming to all.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th June (North America)

Ryne-Gaia

While I won’t be downloading Rain Code as I have the limited edition from Amazon coming there’s no other choice for Ghost Trick so I voted on those two. Honestly between them and AEW it’s kinda a exciting week don’t y’all think?

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - WarioWare Gold

Ryne-Gaia

This one is easy for me. Gotta go with NA/Europe. I said the same for Puyo last week. I love when covers show off all the characters because if I didn’t know the series maybe a character like Mona or 18-Volt pull me in because I’m like WOW they look cool as hell man.

Re: Poll: What Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Wave 5 DLC Racer Are You Most Excited About?

Ryne-Gaia

Kamek easy. It’s not only the fact he was supposed to be on MK from like 64. But also since he’s from Tour and they pointed that out that confirms theories people had when they were like does Tour count as previous games? Means we really do got a shot for Pauline and I super hope so. Kinda confirms it’ll be two batches of three characters each to make those 6 slots. Kinda deconfirms the extra waves idea people had.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 24th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is a pretty simple one. Just gonna focus tonight on a nice long opening session of Final Fantasy XVI. Then the rest of the weekend is gonna be trying to finish Metroid Prime Remastered. According to the guide I’m following I’m pretty close to the end of the game? I’m in the Phazon Mines. Might play some Dead Island 2 or Street Fighter 6 as well. As for the anime it’s Hells Paradise and Mashle primarily and honestly for the rest of the weekend and most of next week the focus is on catching up on and finishing off my Spring anime as a lot of them are wrapping up as the Summer Anime season premieres soon. Hope everyone has a excellent weekend and happy gaming.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 17th)

Ryne-Gaia

This weekend will be kinda simple when it comes to games. Some Metroid Prime on the Switch. I beat Fire Emblem Engage so Metroid is next up. I made it to the Phendrana Drifts and it’s incredibly pretty and honestly has made me fall in love with the game. As for the PlayStation it’s the new season of Fortnite with some pals and maybe some SF6? Otherwise probably some SpongeBob Cosmic Shake. Genuinely that gsmr is a sleeper hit of this year. I mean it all falls by the wayside when FFXVI comes out this week right hahahah. As for the anime you know it’s the usual Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace. Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming.

Re: Atlus Officially Confirms Persona 5 Tactica For Nintendo Switch

Ryne-Gaia

I just don’t get why people trusted some random retailer and now are starting to conspiracy theorist speculate that oh man this means there’s a Nintendo direct coming where they’ll announce it. Like no if that was true tactica would be there too but they didn’t mind revealing tactica now did they?

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

Ryne-Gaia

I gave it to Japan because I like the feeling they go for giving DK and Diddy a more brotherly or friendlier feel. But I do have to admit I almost went NA for the one character in it who looks like a beaver? And he’s just giving a thousand yard stare like he’s seen some crap and it’s kinda hilarious.
