Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 10th)

Ryne-Gaia

Before starting this weeks entry I just wanna say it’s nice seeing Craig from Pure Xbox on these WAYP’s now seriously it’s like bringing a new friend into the friend group. Anyway for this week it’s business as usual. Gonna chip away at more Fire Emblem Engage tho shocker I’m almost at the end of it. Chapter 24 of 26 I think. Depending on how I beat it and other things I might just go ahead and wrap the rest of the DLC emblems and the Fell Xenologue in so I can say I’m 100% done with Engage. After that I’ll either dip into a new birthday gift or Metroid Prime Remastered as that’s the next release after Engage. Otherwise I’ll be playing some Street Fighter 6 both World Tour mode and battles with the friends. For my birthday not only did I get some really nice pairs of Timberlands and these beautiful replica Aegis necklaces I also did get a copy of Dead Island 2 and a friend surprised me with eshop money for a copy of We Love Katamari. One of my other friends gave me 25$ in PSN money so I’ll be browsing the store looking for a fun game on sale that I’ve been waiting on. What that is? I dunno. Either way I’ve got lots of fun to have with new stuff until FFXVI and Ghost Trick and Rain Code come out. As for the anime front you already know it’s Hells Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero, and Cafè Terrace. Looking forward to the Capcom, Ubisoft and RGG showcases on Monday. Excited for more showcases this month in general. Happy gaming and have a awesome weekend everyone.

Re: Soapbox: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom's Busier Hyrule Is Making Me Miss BOTW

Ryne-Gaia

So I picked both. I think they both have their winning elements. Personally I think between the two if you could wipe your memories and go back to one for the first time all over again I would pick BOTW. It’s true that it’s more quiet and to me that makes the discovery in it that much more exciting even if when you discover something it’s not hitting you with a big old DISCOVERY! Like TOTK literally does.

Re: Pikmin 4 Will 'Rise To The Occasion' In Brand New Trailer

Ryne-Gaia

Man I like how everyone’s like WELL NOW NO JUNE DIRECT CONFIRMED. Um no silly they could just have like actual full 10 minute gameplay deep dive they usually do in directs for special games. Now granted I also think it’s unlikely that we get a direct in June but like wow it’s just impressive to see that people think this would be the only thing Nintendo would show of Pikmin 4 at a direct.

Re: Poll: Will There Be A June 2023 Nintendo Direct?

Ryne-Gaia

I don’t think we get a full blown direct in June unless Nintendo has a absolutely packed fall and winter. After all anything announced at it wouldn’t come out until then ya know? As for my expectations I’m like a mix of Gavin, Alana and Jim I agree with all their points equally even if they oppose. I think it’s semi likely we get a partner showcase as there are some Nintendo exclusive games like Baten Kaitos that could do with a release date and I mean look at last years that’s where we got the Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection, PAC-MAN World Re-PAC, and Harvestella. I think we’re unlikely to get a regular direct but somewhat likely to get a partner showcase. I think my bolder prediction is there’s not gonna be a Direct in September either. I think Nintendo would more likely reveal a switch successor around then and have it set for launch like the switch 1 in like March or something and be like come check out all our new titles in like January or something.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (DS)

Ryne-Gaia

While I like the Japanese box art for many reasons I absolutely adore the American one. Again a box art where if I saw it as a kid I would have absolutely begged for the game as it’s just so pretty and cool. The way it portrays it’s characters and their personalities is just so cool. I love it.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 3rd)

Ryne-Gaia

Well for me this weekend is a interesting one. Probably gonna skip a session of TOTK tonight and just dedicate a whole 5 hour session to the newly launched Street Fighter 6. I’ve been waiting for this game since the State of Play that showed it off for real last year and I’m just so happy it’s here. I can’t personally wait to play as my new favorite character the French model Manon. Tho I do wanna make some time for TOTK obviously but I think after this weekend it’s gonna go on the back burner. I think starting Monday I wanna tackle Fire Emblem Engage full time. I know some of these later chapters are long, annoying and difficult so I’m not exactly looking forward to it but I am looking forward to the story and the DLC. Otherwise it’s my birthday this week on the day of Summer Game Fest so I’m looking for two things. 1. Some really great and cool announcements there. And 2. Hopefully snagging a copy of Dead Island 2 from a family member for my birthday. Last year it was Horizon Forbidden West. On the anime front this week it’s some Hells Paradise, Mashle, Demon Slayer, My Home Hero and Café Terrace as usual. Happy Gaming y’all and have a great weekend.

Re: Nintendo Says The Next Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Wave Is Coming "Soon"

Ryne-Gaia

So I hate to be tinfoil hat person here and I know they’re referring to family game night but the fact they bring up Mom and Dad makes me think ah yes they’ll release it before Father’s Day. Again just silly crackpot theory. I’m really excited for more courses whenever they really just kept getting better and better as they went on. Wave 4 was my absolute favorite with Yoshis Island being my favorite Mario Kart Track ever.

Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Squeeze Another Zelda Game Out Of TOTK's Open World?

Ryne-Gaia

So for me I voted Not opposed because honestly I’m not opposed to another Zelda game in this world but honestly I kinda want them to move onto at least a new version of the world even if it takes a genuine decade to get there. Like I’ll admit the sky stuff is cool and so is the depths but in truth a lot of TOTK for me that isn’t “well the towers look slightly different or the geoglyphs are cool.” Really boils down to stuff like yeah this feels like that one place from BOTW. Like I don’t remember playing so much of BOTW that I got sick of it. (that would be ocarina of time.) But like honestly there’s a part of me that goes man this sure does feel like modded BOTW or BOTW DLC. And I swear I know it’s not just that but it’s like if I pause and just forget I’m playing TOTK that’s like the vibe I feel. So honestly a fresh new world where I can go WOW THATS ZORAS DOMAIN?????????? versus my reaction in TOTK of oh. Yeah thats goron city again. Yippee.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Ikaruga

Ryne-Gaia

So I picked NA on this one. Minus the IGN quote which is just really weird and kinda tacky if that wasn’t there I would probably buy it because the box art lured me in more with the mystery of what is this “ikaruga?” Versus the others where I can tell you if I saw them in the store I would be like yeah no thanks that looks lame.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 27th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well big week of game beating for me. This week I was able to beat both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Both excellent wonderful games that I have very little words to describe them because they were just THAT good. Anyway for this weekend it’s gonna be more Tears of the Kingdom and actually working on beating Sifu next so I can use that for some nice trade credit towards Street Fighter 6 at the end of the week. If I can do that I’ll move onto some One Piece Odyssey as I’ve been really loving that and wanting to play more of it. With Xenoblade done tho the next title I’m moving onto might be a little surprising possibly. It’s gonna be Fire Emblem Engage in that nice Monday is the day off schedule slot. As for the anime y’all already know it’s a nice Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace sort of weekend. Happy gaming to all and a happy long weekend to anyone in the US.

Re: The Pokémon Franchise Has Now Shipped Over 480 Million Software Units

Ryne-Gaia

Ya know what the saddest thing is looking at this article? If you look at the screenshot attached it’s like oh the trainer looks nice. The Pokémon also looks nice. Maybe at worst a little fuzzy right? Then you look at the background and like the rock next to them is just a blurry mess of color that I think is supposed to the Poison Team Star base? And it’s like man if even just small things like that were more polished I think people would genuinely look past some of the bigger things but things like that just scream cut corners kick it under the rug to me.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 20th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is gonna be pretty simple. Some Zelda Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo side of gaming. Otherwise playing some sets in the Street Fighter 6 Open Beta with my friends. Gotta get them JURI rounds in. Love her she’s my baby. Otherwise gonna continue Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The rival in that game is just Jedi Vergil and I love it. Also hoping to beat Xenoblade 3 on Monday. That game is just absolutely incredible. As for the anime it’s a Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and The Cafè Terrace sort of weekend y’all. Have a good weekend everyone and happy gaming to all.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 13th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend will be pretty simple eh? Just loads and loads and even more loads of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Genuinely trying to recapture the feeling I had when I first got Breath of the Wild and was like wow. It’s really here. It’s working so far hahaha. Yet I might try to tear myself away from it for some xenoblade 3 on Monday. Otherwise I’ll be working in some Jedi Survivor and some Atomic Heart on PS5. On the anime front it’s Hells Paradise, Mashle, and My Home Hero as always. Happy gaming and a awesome weekend to everyone.

Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - April 2023

Ryne-Gaia

This one was FFVI for me easily. It’s my first time getting to play this one honestly I absolutely love it. Using the boosters to make it so grinding is unnecessary makes it really easy to enjoy the story and lemme tell you it is one engaging story with some of the coolest characters. Can’t wait to see how it continues in further play sessions.

Re: Feature: Best Royals In Nintendo Games - Who's Your Favourite?

Ryne-Gaia

I picked Lissa because honestly Lissa is so damn cute and awesome and just one of my favorite fire emblem characters ever. Honestly I think she’s one of the reasons I fell in love with fire emblem like I did. I’ll admit the end of that article threw me for a loop because I read it a little too fast and originally read the last part as like hail to the nazis and not down with the nazis and was like WAIT WHAT WHERE DID THAT COME FROM. Excellent article tho.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 6th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend originally was gonna be some Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe but I recently (like last 10 minutes) discovered IGN has a written guide for Advance Wars 1 Mission 13 Mighty Kanbei which has had me frustrated and despising Advance Wars for a week. So honestly I think I might just give Advance Wars one more try and hope I can beat this mission once and for all. Over on PlayStation I’m thinking of doing more Atomic Heart. Funny that seems to be the combo when I have my most frustrating nights. As for the anime of the weekend I’m thinking more My Home Hero and The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses. Another weekend where irs a long weekend with a day off on Monday so maybe I’ll finally conquer Xenoblade 3’s infamous chapter 5 as well as finally cracking fully into some Jedi Survivor. Happy weekend y’all and let’s all have some terrific gaming.

Re: UK Charts: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Tumbles Out Of The Top Ten

Ryne-Gaia

Kinda makes sense it dropped out so quick. Remakes of old GBA games that aren’t exactly the easiest games are kinda hard to recommend. In truth between the two I would maybe recommend more people fire emblem engage because for a good majority of its just way easier and therefore more fun and enjoyable. Advance Wars on the other hand ruined my night last night with Mission 11 or 12 I think it was.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 29th)

Ryne-Gaia

Well this weekend is a interesting one. Been playing Advance Wars all weekend so I’ll honestly probably just play more of that. Sometimes it’s frustrating to the point of hatred other times I’m like awwwww charming lil war game. I beat Resident Evil 4 Remake so it’ll be onto RE5 at some point in the future. But for now I’ll be deleting that and probably the Mass Effect Legendary Collection to install the one and only MAMMOTH Jedi Survivor I mean seriously that game is huge. As for anime I’m feeling some more My Home Hero and probably my stand out for the season Oshi no Ko. Y’all gotta give it a try if you haven’t. Thanks all of you for making such a welcoming community. Have a good weekend and Happy Gaming.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Final Fantasy IV (DS)

Ryne-Gaia

I had to go with Japan on this one. Not only do I love Amano art but honestly if I saw that on the shelf as a kid I would probably have begged for that and be a huge fan of IV today instead of being wistful for it hahaha.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 22nd)

Ryne-Gaia

Gaming and anime this weekend gonna be real simple. Pretty close to the end of Megaman Battle Network 1 so I’m hoping to beat that today. On the PS front I’m thinking of just doing some more RE4. My two big focuses on there are definitely RE4 and The Mass Effect games. I didn’t like 1 but I’m really liking 2 a whole lot. As for the anime of the weekend I think all of my picks for Spring have at least 3 episodes out so now I gotta just organize what to watch when. Well besides Yuri is My Job Wednesday’s and Hells Paradise Saturdays. Maybe some Mashle Mondays????? Hahaha. My only day off this week is Monday so I’m thinking maybe some FFVI since I grabbed that this week. Or maybe some Advance Wars or Bayonetta Origins. So many choices hahaha.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Professor Layton And The Curious Village

Ryne-Gaia

Gonna go American on this one. I think the European one doesn’t really pull you in if you’re not a puzzle guy whereas American and Japanese sells it like a Sherlock Holmes thing which it kinda is. I would vote Japanese but honestly the red banner at the bottom ruined it it’s way too cramped.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Link's Start Point In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Ryne-Gaia

Man that’s funny. The new great plateau is gonna be islands in the sky. So better watch your step because I bet you don’t get the paraglider until you complete the tutorial. In all honesty I imagine the whole link losing his arm ganondorf coming back to life and Zelda getting lost is the start of the game. Meaning link gets thrown way up in the sky because of that? Again super funny.
