This is a perfect release date.

Isn't a sequel supposed to improve on mechanics, graphics, and what not? I am loving the new art style. Maybe it will appeal to younger fans.

I remember not having a Final Fantasy on the Gamecube and my brother had Final Fantasy on PS2. I was so happy when this came out back in the day. When I got it, he laughed at it saying it was not a real Final Fantasy and he was right. I was disappointed, but I still played this spin-off despite its flaws. I even enjoyed it. This one has the charm that the WII one is missing. I purchased all of them even the DS ones. This is no Masterpiece but an OK action RPG. I am going to get it and love it. Nostalgia cometh.

@Thaswizz I was in the same boat buying Shining first. I only played about 10 hours of Y 8 and beat a few indies in between. I will always go back to a Ys game they are awesome. Octopath is great but it is a commitment like Xenoblade which comes out in a month.

Another weekend dedicated to Octopath. I am at level 50 about to finish Ophelia Chapter 4. I have all the Shrines and the other characters are in Chapter 2. I hope it does not get too easy after this.

I am so in for this one. Star Fox come on.

These graphics are yuck. It might be a good game though. I will wait for a review.

It is because we are going to get the bare minimum because of the $20 price tag. We have to pay $20 for the service we already have. We get cloud save and Nes games. Move on nothing to see here.

@masterLEON I never said I wanted 40 games, I just wanted some legit games to go with the originals that were announced. I watch the Pax video and I was not impressed.

I was waiting for those last 10 games to be announced and I am disappointed. We have Crystalis, and well we have Crystalis.

So basically, we are getting some obscure DLC games that do not cut the mustard. These games are said to be "historical" in the 40 years SNK has made games, but come on. They could have made this way better. By giving us games with a timeline from past to present. They do not have to give us 40 games but this announcement is a total let down.

I did not like the 3DS one at all. It was so lame. I will wait and see.

Most of the games I purchase are RPGs. I think it is shame that we are so tribal. I consider myself a Nintendo fanboy even. If someone gives criticism maybe they have a reason for it. I encourage everyone to try this game if they like a good RPG. It is about the games after all. Sometimes this site makes me vomit in my mouth. When people talk about a game they have not played or felt like they hurt Nintendos feelings because it is not what they want to here. It is garbage.

I love Cosmic. It is a great game. I purchased it before Octopath because I knew how long it would take to complete. It is one of the better indie RPGs. It was short and the story was great. I prepurchased it, but I had my eye on that game. It all boils down to oversaturation of indie games. It also boils down to not many indie RPGs are that good or RPGs that come out are usually mobile ports. I wish the devs well and I encourage them to keep up the good work because I am a fan of this game.

Yummy looking game. I just started Octopath though. I am about 9 hours in and being the completist that I am, I fear I am going to fall in a rabbit hole. I will get it. I just hope I beat Octo so I can pick this one up. Torna comes out in a month. This game looks good.

I loved the NES Ultimas. The music and the Characters. I did not care for the 5th one on the NES. The graphics sucked and I tried a few SNES ones and it was not the same. Exodus and Quest of the Avatar were the best for me. I am hoping to love this. I guess I will wait and see.

I still have not played Octopath save for the demo. I am saving it. I am playing Cosmic: Star Heroine. It is a nice retro-inspired indie RPG. It is a good one. This is not like a cheap Kemco Krap. This is legit. Old school that flows. Get this one. It is like phantasy star with Chronotrigger. I heart this one.

I am glad I downloaded all my roms why the get was good, except for Lunar 2 for Sega CD. I miss that game. Maybe I will just figure out torrents now.

I play roms and love them. I spend a lot of money on video games a year as well. I love the obscure roms more because I have not played them. Most of them that I download are from Japan with translation patches. I have a very large library of physical games that I own that are in boxes in the garage and in the addict. I recently purchased Megaman Collection 2. I did not want to download these Megaman games as roms I wanted them for my switch.

What if they just release a collection or some of their old stuff too. How easy would that be? Duh Squarenix.

Before I start a new RPG, I am looking at you Octopath. I thought I would check out a rom I have not played on the NES. It is the glory of Heracles, It appears to be an old-school Dragon Quest clone except with mythology. It is great.

Everyone who is a pokemon fan is getting this whether they admit it or not. That Pokeball is worth it alone.

I still have my Wii fit board and used it through my WiiU life cycle. They could release another and I would purchase it. bring it Nintendo.

Based on my backlog: Skyrim, Ocyopath, and Ys8. I only need to purchase Pokemon Eevee, Labyrinth of Refrain, and Starlink. I cannot forget X2: Torna season pass which I already have. SNK anniversary is on my eye as well, but with my GPD who needs it.

3DS was my favorite console for 5 years. I still love it. It clearly shines. It is an RPG lovers dream.

The Vita versions look better, but I'm all about it.

There about 7 games on that list that are must buys. That is enough for me for the year. Sprinkle an indie or two with a good review and I have a backlog still.
