Re: Epic Games Might Be Bringing A Free-To-Play "Brawler Royale" To Switch

I played a little bit on series x, the problem for me was the skill threshold is actually very high and the tutorial wasn't amazing. So as a new player, you just hit a murderers row of experienced players and got wiped. If the player base has dwindled, then I bet the people left are going to be awesome at the game and are going to love the noob harvest from switch.

Have to say, for me mario golf was dreadful. As someone who has much love for aces, I'm surprised Camelot didn't launch with an online tournament mode. Support will likely come but after the player base dwindles and adding extra modes just exacerbates the issue. Already traded my copy in. Its selling plenty whatever so nintendo clearly don't care but if any other publisher put that game out they would be slayed

Nostalgia will always hold back people from comparing what we have now with what we had in the past. Our memories of playing games are tied in to our experiences at the time in our lives when we played them. I remember, vividly still how much of a big deal getting a 70 quid Street fighter 2 and same again for an essential 6 button controller was as a kid at Christmas, or the ps1 with the change to polygons, the n64 with my first experience of a multiplayer fps (goldeneye) and mariokart and the endless games of pes3 at uni so favourably because a) they were novel experiences that were so radically different to anything that had gone before and b) they were at a time of my life where there was time and space to appreciate them. Objectively, what we have now in terms of quality available on all three platforms not only from the big AAA studios but from indie publishers is truly amazing and has no parallel. It's just a shame that there are also no parallels for all the live service, loot box, mtx filled garbage either.

Re: New 4K Switch Model Could Launch For $399, Analysts Suggest

People don't want a switch pro, when you really boil it down people are either fine with the current sku for a bit longer, or want a switch 2 with backwards compatibility. I love nintendo 1st party output but it's unlikely botw 2 or something that big locks out the og switch install base. No upgrade for me. Tbh, since I've got my series x and ps5, the amount of playtime on my switch has dropped dramatically. What happened to consolidation of handheld and home gaming increasing software output?! Where is bayonetta 3 or metroid? Never mind hardware, get on the case with software!

Re: Random: Is This Why We Never Got DLC For Super Mario Party On Switch?

I get so fed up of the comparison to Mario aces! Mario aces launched with a clear 12 month support window from the get go. There has never been any mention ever of post launch support for Mario Party. Unless you preordered you knew there was only 4 boards. Also the game just isn't that good to warrant it!! Played it with both family and friends, neither felt it. First and probably last mario party game.

Switch would have probably been the only console I would have bought this on. I had great times on 1 and 2 back on the day but am I going to use my time on big screen in the house for this over the last of us 2 or ghosts of tsushima?? EA has really missed the point with the switch, people need to lean into second screen games, games you can play a bit while something else is on the tv.

Selling for £200 in uk, thought about buying one at 90 a couple of weeks ago whilst in lockdown for my daughter but couldn't justify it. Tricky for Nintendo as their capacity to manufacture is diminished but they could make a fair bit of cash if they could get stock out there. I bust out the wii fit board in the mean time and shes loving the yoga.

Re: Talking Point: How Often Do You Make The 'Switch Sacrifice'?

I've only got one kid damo but this article captures most of the reasons why I bought a switch! My time on the big tv with ps4 is limited so switch is my indie and Nintendo first party go to. I couldn't care less about trophies, has no bearing on my choice. I picked switch versions of LA Noir, okami, skyrim and civ6 ahead of other platforms. I'll be picking Wolfenstein 2, dragon quest xi, maybe dragons dogma, call of juarez and unless it's a mess, outer worlds on switch. Also gyroscope aiming is amazing and should be an option on other consoles

@Agramonte agree that cross-save would be ideal! Have to say there is a shed load of ps3 owners last gen who wouldn't have played 2 with it being xbox360/pc only who would be in the same boat. Your remote play set up is great, my iPad is too old to support and waiting to test out the new android version from recent update. It's the only way I'm going to get through persona 5!

@Agramonte kotaku did a pretty decent catch up for those new to the series and things you might want to consider when selecting choices you made for witcher 2. I played on base ps4 without playin 1 or 2 and I enjoyed it. Though I thought Toussaint challenged it big time technically. Still to go to the continent while on the bus or while the missus watches the tv is surely a technical marvel?
