Re: Project CARS 2 Creative Director Loves Nintendo Switch, But Don't Expect A Port

PokeMario

"There's no conspiracy here"
"The Wii U is more than capable of providing the core Project CARS experience."
"All you need to know is that when you get the game, it’ll look and feel amazing and you’ll want to show it off to your friends."
"Honestly, unless we really cut the looks back I think we're looking to Nintendo's next console."
"I suppose if they don't announce something at E3 or soon after we will have a go at it."

Re: Poll: How Important is the Virtual Console, and GameCube, for the Nintendo Switch?

PokeMario

The Switch needs to launch with a large selection of Virtual Console games from the NES to the Gamecube. I don't know if DS or Wii games will work since I don't think they've officially said anything on touchscreen or motion controls. Also, it needs to be cheaper. Either discount all the games or make a subscription service, anything that will make it cheaper to buy these games.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Coming Sooner Than Expected

PokeMario

@Onion You keep saying the word "blindly". I have watched the gameplay videos that we've gotten so far and from those I've made the decision that the game looks interesting to me and I am looking forward to it. But I'm not "blindly" trusting someone. The guy producing it is the same one that produced the original Metroid Prime games, so there's reason to believe that he knows what he's doing with this game.
This game could be very beneficial to the Metroid universe and actually help move the series forward, but right now, we don't know that, so it's too early to just write it off entirely. It's not fair to call it "disrespectful" when for all we know it could end up paying a lot of respect to the Metroid franchise.

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Coming Sooner Than Expected

PokeMario

@Onion If people said "I don't like the look of it so I probably won't buy it" that would be one thing. However, that's not the case. Instead, people are making petitions to cancel the game and are calling it "disgusting" and "embarrassing". And I have reason to trust the guy who worked on the original Metroid Prime games that we all thought were fantastic. (And unless I'm mistaken, he did not work on Other M). Everyone is making bold claims about this game when they haven't even played it. At least wait for review before jumping to conclusions. If it ends up being bad, then there's reason to complain. But if it ends up a good game, it won't get the appreciation it deserves thanks to all of the negativity surrounding it. I'm curious as to how the game will expand the Metroid universe and I'm willing to give it a shot. And here's a thought: perhaps a big Metroid game is being saved for the NX. Why make a Metroid game for Wii U, a system on its last legs, when instead Nintendo could generate hype for the NX. Yes, this is just speculation, but it certainly isn't impossible.
My final point is: we don't know everything that this game has to offer so it's not fair to just shrug it off. It could very well benefit the Metroid universe.

@Onion Except I've thought this game looked good from the beginning. In fact, when Blast Ball was first shown people were saying "I hope this ends up as part of a Metroid game" but when some people reacted negatively, they all followed suit. The fact is, people aren't even giving this game a chance. You'd think people would have a little faith in a guy that's been a producer on all three of the Metroid Prime games.
When Naughty Dog showed off the Last of Us, people gave it a chance even though it was a little different than what they were used to, and a lot of them ended up loving it.

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U Retail Games - Third Anniversary Edition

PokeMario

My list:
1. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
2. Bayonetta 2
3. Super Mario 3D World
4. Pikmin 3
5. Splatoon
6. Super Mario Maker
7. Mario Kart 8
8. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
9. The Wonderful 101
10. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD/Yoshi's Woolly World
Honorable Mentions:
New Super Mario Bros. U
New Super Luigi U
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Nintendo Land
Hyrule Warriors
Lego City Undercover
ZombiU

Splatoon and Super Mario Maker haven't been out as long as other games so there hasn't been time for my thoughts to settle. There's a good chance both of them will move up on my list. Yoshi's Woolly World will probably stay where it is.
Overall the Wii U has plenty of great exclusive games I can't get anywhere else. It's a shame its lifespan will be shorter than other consoles but honestly there's been so many great games that I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Re: Project Guard and Fire Emblem Fates Provide Oddities in Nintendo's Upcoming Game Schedule Details

PokeMario

Ah yes, just like how Project Giant Robot came out in the first half of this year. Except it didn't.
As I said before, Nintendo listed Xenoblade Chronicles X for 2014, only for them to delay it to 2015 a few weeks later. Those Project Guard and Project Giant Robot release dates we saw before E3 were placeholders, seeing as Project Giant Robot still isn't out.
We'll be lucky if Nintendo even shows footage of Project Guard this year, I'm almost positive it won't come out this year.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Game Updates and DLC Are Fantastic, Albeit Starved of Attention

PokeMario

I've had no problems with the pricing of Smash's DLC, I just think there are way too many Mii costumes. They need to slow down and maybe make some sort of discount for those that buy a lot of the costumes. I personally couldn't care less about the costumes as I rarely use the Mii Fighters, but I've gotten all the new characters and will probably get whatever characters come out in the future.

Re: Exclusive: Project CARS "Simply Too Much For Wii U", Developer Now Waiting On New Nintendo Hardware

PokeMario

I have no problem with the fact that they couldn't get the game running on the Wii U. All they had to do was say, "We are having trouble with the Wii U version of Project Cars," and then either cancel it then or say "we'll keep working on it, but it may end up being cancelled," or something along those lines. Instead, they outright lied.
"The Wii U is more than capable of providing the core Project Cars experience."
"There's no conspiracy here..."
"So when we say the Wii U version is delayed in 2015 because we need a little more time, that's all it is."
"I've seen the Wii U version, I've seen it quite regularly. It's got dynamic time of day, weather - it looks phenomenal."
The fact that the Wii U version was cancelled doesn't bother me, I could simply buy the game on another platform. But after this type of behavior, I refused to buy the game on any platform.

Re: Devil's Third is Being Published by Nintendo of America in Q4, Also Coming to PC as 'Free-to-Start' Title

PokeMario

In other news, Devil's Third is now a real-time strategy/minigame collection.

At some points I thought this game looked bad, but at other points I was a little interested. But now it apparently isn't that good according to the previews I've read, but perhaps I'll try out the "free-to-start" version on PC and see if the game still interests me on either platform. I'll still want to read the reviews, though.
