Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Has No Set Formula for Hardware Reveals, But NX is Testing Fans' Patience

Pj1

I go on the Nintendo life website daily and there doesn't seem to be a lot of NX news on here, a lot of speculation and reports about the console going into production. I still say that Nintendo need to come out with all guns blazing with this console and spend what they can to promote and market this product, I still feel that the Wii just blew away everyone when it came out. People were buying them and saying to their friends and family 'have you played on a Wii yet, it's pretty amazing' Nintendo need that again with NX. The Wii-U I have some mixed feelings about I think yes it was or is a great console but NX really needs that 'wow factor. Sadly as I have a back log of games to play I will probably wait later in the year to buy one, I will continue to support Wii-U for now.

Re: Pre-Orders for the New Legend of Zelda amiibo Now Also Available on the Official Nintendo UK Store

Pj1

I am hoping with the arrival in five weeks time when the Nes Mini comes out to see if I can at last get into Zelda! I went on the Amazon site and these amiibo were sold out, so I bought two from Game. I bought a toon style one before so I feel I don't need another one that is similar. Also with Game you get loyalty points so I'm seeing if I can save up a tenner on my card!!

Re: Amazon UK's NES Classic Mini Launch Stock Is All Gone

Pj1

I pre-ordered the day Nintendo life posted that it was ready for pre order in the UK, I also purchased one and a controller from Game. I've kinda done it just in case something bad happens, at least I'll get one if it goes wrong. I've also pre-ordered three controllers, dunno why as the nes pad hurts my hands after a while! The consoles release is about 6 weeks away I am hoping for some kind of direct where they unbox it and plug it into a TV! might be wishful thinking, nearer the time N.L might or could do it?

BTW folks on the Nintendo UK store site this has been sold out for weeks and it says on a tab line they expect more in stock in December, a small part of me hoped I ordered three! but then probably all three would have turned up....
I'm even counting the days on my phone for this!!

Re: Nintendo is Reportedly Taking 'Final Orders' on Wii U Consoles From Retailers

Pj1

I like the Wii-U and if The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild makes it to Wii-U I'll buy two copies of it, it kinda reminds me when Nintendo did this the GameCube and Wii of T.P. If the Wii-U gets a big price drop, I might get a third one to keep boxed. I wonder if Nintendo will do one day make a Wii-U mini? I loved the Wii version.

So NX has still not been revealed but a March 2017 release is possible, I won't buy one until December 2017.

Re: Video: Take A Closer Look At The NES Mini Classic Edition

Pj1

I personally think Nintendo are damned if they do and damned if they don't, I'm talking about the 'locked down' (or lack of) the cartridge slot. This might had been considered by the big cheeses at the big N but If it had a cartridge slot where you can play the old games, then Nintendo could be in a bad spot with people returning units saying that they don't work but it could be the games that are over 20 years old being the problem!

Nintendo could have included a DS type cartridge slot and then released physical games that are the size of a DS cart but then Nintendo wouldn't have pleased everyone, also they could have given the unit internet access to the NES VC library but again this could have caused them headaches. I think the fact that we are all getting this console with 30 games is pretty good, we can use the NES style pads with the Wii and Wii U so thats really good news in itself. I’m too I am very excited about this unit, however I feel equally excited about this Playing With Power: Nintendo NES Classics,

https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/07/the_official_nintendo_nes_classics_book_will_go_nicely_with_your_nes_mini

Hopefully the Legend of Zelda will get a lot of coverage in this book as I've heard the original game came with a map with the instruction manual, I've also heard that it can fetch for a lot of money on eBay so buying that will be pretty cool too. I'm hoping that the big N will do a direct pretty soon and all will be revealed!

Re: Discuss: What Next For The Nintendo 64?

Pj1

@electrolite77 Sadly the F1 games, (great as they were) will probably wont appear on mini N64 as they don't own the game licence, they would have to ask Codemasters for permission.

I dunno how I feel about N64 Mini, I'd like to see what they do about a SNES mini first.....

Re: Retro: Bask in Nostalgia With The Nintendo Power Archive

Pj1

I had some fun downloading some of these earlier, I have bought some in the past from either ebay and NYC. I had a nice nostalgia fix from one issue that a supermarket can't remember who were advertising different coloured N64's for sale at $100. It's a shame I never bought one in the UK if they had been £100 here, oh well you can't go back in time.

I would like to thank Jason Scott and 'Sketch the Cow' for putting these up.

Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?

Pj1

The console it seems is being released March 2017 and the official (I hope) reveal will be September, hopefully it will be done well. However I will buy one at some point but I will probably wait until Christmas 2017 to buy one. I personally agree with @Superzone13 it will be so bad if you gotta rebuy VC titles....

Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Opens Pre-Orders for the Nintendo Classic Mini NES

Pj1

I've already pre-ordered with Amazon and Game, I really hope that neither screws up.I would like two: one to use and one to keep sealed. I pre-ordered a controller from Nintendo UK store,. I have pre-ordered 3 controllers from 3 different websites.

As I said in another post, I think Nintendo will probably release an official plug for this. If they don't game could and often do sell third party equipment.

Re: Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition Gets a Snazzy Trailer and Website

Pj1

What a great video! Love it, I'd love to see / know how small the console is. Nintendo have given us a great gift with the controller as we all know plugs into a Wii remote and I think thats pretty nice.

I've pre-ordered two consoles from two different websites, I will use one and keep the other sealed. However I have ordered 3 standalone controllers.
Nearer the time I think Nintendo should do a direct and I'd love to know the sale figures. Judging from what I have read on Nintendo life there is / are a lot of positive feelings for this console and others like me are hoping for other consoles to be released in time (SNES, N64 and wonder what they're do about Gamecube) It's an exciting time to be a Nintendo fan, player, collector.

Re: Guide: Where To Preorder The Nintendo NES Classic Mini In The UK

Pj1

Official wording from Nintendo is Remember in Europe you only get a USB power cable, no USB power plug. I reckon someone at Nintendo is looking into selling these separately, £50 for the console or whatever its called isn't a bad price and £8 for additional controllers is pretty good. I thought after it was announced that the US would get the console for $60 and controllers for $10 I thought that the UK would probably sell the console for £60- £70 and the controllers for £15. I am pleased the prices aren't that bad.

Re: Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition Coming This November, Ships With 30 Games

Pj1

I've been saying for a long time that Nintendo could and should re release old consoles, if this unit proves popular then I'm hoping for more to be released. Like the SNES, how cool would that be? the N64 and so on. What Nintendo should have done was included a little bit of memory and an internet shop channel, I am pretty excited for this. I also think you could use the pads with a Wii-mote! So there's a release date but as of yet this console is not available as a preorder.

Re: Editorial: An Ode To The Wii U GamePad, Nintendo's Mad But Brilliant Controller

Pj1

I'm sure Nintendo Life did this feature before, I quite like the gamepad, I really enjoyed playing Lego city using it but I haven't played Super Mario maker for a while. I agree using a standard controller to design levels would be a right pain. The only real thing that lets the pad down is it's battery life is pretty bad, if NX allows players / users to play Wii-U games then the gamepad will still be used. There has been some talk that Wii-U will be discontinued soon, shame!

Re: 2DS Gets a Price Cut to $79.99 in North America

Pj1

I dont live in America but I think that's a great deal! I bought one from an online supermarket last year for about $60 with a case and then I took it on a long road journey (I wasn't driving) playing Mario Land. I recommend the 2DS for that sort of thing....

Re: Nintendo NX Will Be Launched Globally in March 2017

Pj1

E3 would be a bit of a disaster for Nintendo if they announce information about Nx when they need to promote all the new upcoming titles for Wii-U and 3DS, so for another 11 months or so they will keep both their consoles alive with probably new games and 'HD remasters' I am hoping that Nx is called System 7 and that they will do a lot to promote, market and advertise the new console, I'd be surprised if they didn't choose to do a lot of directs to give us all the information we need. Sadly when the nxt is launched I've promised myself that I won’t buy one until at least a year after it comes out, I just feel a bit stung by Nintendo when they launched the 3DS and Wii-U and I don't want to make the same mistake again, I also would like to save up for it and some extra money to buy a game for it when it becomes available. Besides I have a massive 3DS, Wii and Wii-U game back log! I better start playing them all....
