Re: Feature: Remembering Toys R Us, The '90s Gamer's Paradise

Pj1

My memories are, I bought a Wii at launch and it was faulty! I could either get it fixed by Nintendo or wait for a new one to come in which at the time was a long wait. AT the time my wife and I worked at a petrol station and had told him the night man about the wii being faulty, when we took over from him the next day he said that he heard on the radio that Toys R us in Basildon were getting more Nintendo Wii's in the next day. It was about two weeks before Christmas 2006, so we headed out at 3:30AM and people were queuing up! (In line)

It was a lovely atmosphere if you wanted a hot drink the guy in front of you was going to the garage, if you wanted a smoke and didn't have any no problem you can have one of mine! Whilst in the que people were saying that Toys r us didn't mean to broadcast the fact they were getting more Wii's were coming. It got to about 8AM and a lady came out and was giving out tickets, someone dubbed them the Willy wonka golden tickets! The guy in front asked for two! And the lady asked him why, he said one for me and the other is for the children! REALLY? They were in pushchairs. Then at around 8:45AM they let us into the store, they also made it clear that you had to pick up a game with your system. We choose 'Happy feet' as people were picking up their systems and walking off with them as you had to go to the entertainment counter people were still talking to each other. Some people were coming into the store to get one but it was too late for them. I can’t remember the actual date for this but it was a Friday night in December (I think) 2006 was anyone else there?

Re: Super Mario Cereal Has Shown Up in Target’s Online Inventory

A British newspaper + Metro online were reporting that Kellogg's were/ are going to make these. Nintendo / Kellogg's can't make them too sweet if they come to the UK as they will get band, there's a bit of sugar tax on stuff here nowadays. I might get a box if they do arrive here....

Re: Feature: 20 Games That Aren't On The SNES Classic Mini, But Really Should Be

Pj1

I'm pleased that Nintendo released this but yeah the following games would have been epic.

Super Mario All Stars
Mario's time machine
Mario is missing
Turtles in time
Sim City
Pilot Wings (I was disappointed as I did think this was included until about a month ago)
Super R type
DKC 2&3
Desert Strike (that would have been a cool addition to the console)

Re: Poll: A Retro Quest - Were You Able to Buy a Super NES Classic Edition / SNES Mini?

Pj1

I pre-ordered from Game at the store, well my wife ordered me one. I ordered one from Game online and one from Very, I feel pleased that I did order from all three. As I read comments from N.L posters that Game online and Very had sold out and were still taking pre-orders, overall I am very pleased with the SNes mini, I wish there was a way to reset from the controller though. Also why is Contra so hard?

Re: Review: Sonic Mania (Switch eShop)

Pj1

From what I've played of it, I love it. Still feels odd to play Sega games on Nintendo but I should be over that by now. I hope Mr Whitehead and co get to do Streets of Rage like others are asking for. Also one day I hope EA remasters the fantastic Desert Strike or makes available for VC if and when we get it.

Welcome back Sonic!

Re: Guide: Where to Pre-Order Your Super NES Classic Edition

Pj1

It's great news that people in America can pre-order this now, just gotta hope they make enough for all that want one.

@chrcoluk did you manage to lock down a pre-order? I do not work for game, my local one have taken three different pre-orders for Snes minis, it might be worth following your local store on twitter.

My orders are with Game and Very and I know they've messed up in the past (Game) but I am hopeful it will be Ok. Nintendo Life reported Friday that Game have seen their profits fall, my other pre-order is with Very. I was either working or sleeping when pre-orders went live, so I missed out ordering from the Nintendo Store and I feel pretty gutted about that as I am very nervous about my pre-orders......
I know they are not out for another three months, I also feel that my pre-orders arent safe until I have them in my hands.
I've ordered two, one to play and one to keep sealed as part of my collection.

Re: It Seems Argos Is Cancelling Some SNES Classic Mini Pre-Orders In The UK

I think for anyone who ordered more than one and got theirs cancelled is fair do's. If people have ordered one and got it cancelled then I feel bad for them.

Re: Doug Bowser Says Nintendo Has Learned A Lot From Demand For NES Mini

Pj1

I think Nintendo missed a trick here, there is huge demand for retro consoles and they know this when they were selling nes titles on VC for about £5.00 or whatever....

Why didn't they kind of open a new division at HQ to cater for the demand of the nes mini, it was never advertised as a limited edition item nor did they tell us it was only around for the Christmas period. So if they 'do' a Snes mini they will have triple production for it big time. Also they have the power to bring it back anytime they could make them Wii-Mini size and be able to connect to the Vc e-shop so you can download more games and content, if little old me can say this then why didn't they do it?
