So far the day one purchases for me are Fire Emblem and Splatoon Raiders. Further down the line I may pick up the Yoshi game depending on how the rest of the year pans out with things not yet announced.
This weekend I'll be mainly carrying on with Zelda Tears of the Kingdom S2 Edition, after a couple of hours house decorating. Alongside I'm currently playing Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, which is addictive and weirdly relaxing decimating hordes of creatures. Also a bit of Pikmin 4 and Fire Emblem Engage which have also been in the backlog for too long. Enjoy your weekend whatever you're doing.
Not too much for me, as I'm watching the Daytona 24hr Motor Race. In between safety cars I'll be having a go at Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and maybe a bit of Tears of the Kingdom S2 edition. Started it properly last week, and just left the the first sky island and landed in Hyrule.
After getting to the end of Metroid 4, I'm starting Tears of the Kingdom S2 edition properly. I'll also have a quick blast of Mario Kart World along with the demo of Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity. Happy gaming and weekend!
I don't get why button remapping isn't a standard feature, it absolutely should be. Back in the 8 bit days right up to the PS2 and GameCube era you could change the button mapping. Skipped the 360, Wii, PS3 eras and started gaming again during 2020.
This weekend is pretty much the same as last weekend. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond, currently got to the Great Mines. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, taking my time wondering about soaking in the atmosphere before starting it properly. Happy gaming and enjoy weekend.
I don't get the problem. I thought he was ok, not too intrusive. It would be odd with him upgrading the chips and not speaking once you're out in the desert investigating.
Happy New Year. Metroid Prime 4 and Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. I'm getting towards the end of Metroid Prime 4, after the last teleporter key. While the release schedule is quiet I've finally got around to starting Tears of the Kingdom with the S2 upgrade. Not played it before, so hopefully it's as enjoyable as Breath of the Wild. Enjoy your gaming.
Happy New Year to all. Plenty of unknowns for me this year with personal stuff, but one thing is for sure my Switch 2 will get me through some tough times much like my original Switch did. Once I've completed Metroid 4 and Pokémon ZA I'll be getting stuck into ToTK as a time sink alongside the new Fire Emblem, Pokopia, Yoshi and Mario Tennis. Thank you NL for your hard work.
Hope everyone enjoyed the festive season. I'm carrying on with Pokémon Legends Za here and there. Metroid Prime 4 Beyond is currently my main game, in the second to last area, I've really enjoyed it, so much so I've bought myself Dread and Prime Remastered while out in my local city shopping. I'm also thinking about starting ToTK with a Switch 2 upgrade while the release schedule is quiet, bought it earlier on in the year and haven't played it yet. I'm not sure whether the 2 upgrade is worth getting or not. Hope you're all enjoying your new Switches/Games and whatever else you're doing over what remains of the festive season. And a Happy New Year.
Hope everyone has had a great Christmas/Holiday. Cheers for the news and reviews NL. Enjoy your new goodies whatever you were gifted. Drunken Mario Kart World was a hit earlier on today with family who'd never played it, young and old.
I paid £405 for my Mario Kart bundle, really happy with it. It makes good business sense to me discontinuing it, as they can continue to sell a product to the late comers and promote the next big release with a bundle. I've yet to see Mario Kart for £80 as people are saying it costs that much, most retailers in the UK are selling it between £50 and £65. The amount of doom and moaning about Nintendo online is getting tedious, they're not doing anything different to their competitors.
This weekend I need to brush up on my Mario Kart World skills, went online last weekend and got thrashed. Also carrying on with Pokémon Legends Za, I dip in and out with an hour or so here and there. After I'll do a bit more of Metroid Prime 4. Depending on how that goes I may start Tears of the Kingdom which I bought a year ago and never started. Nice to see a big variety in people's gaming still, and as always happy gaming and a great festive time.
Same as last week for me, carrying on with Metroid Prime 4 and Pokémon Legends Za. Trying to finish Pokémon to get the Mega Dimension DLC, unfortunately I've not got much gaming time at the moment. Anyways happy gaming all.
I wonder if these Switch 2 updates are games that were planned on being released on the Switch 2 originally with some of them having performance issues on the original Switch, and they were shoehorned to run on it, with Switch 2 development potentially getting delayed during the Covid pandemic?
Happily plugging away at Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and Pokémon Legends Za, with a little bit of Mario Kart World on my shiny 2 week old Switch 2. For some reason I'm still not feeling Donkey Kong Bananza. Happy gaming everyone.
@Ramouz plus when you buy said articles, you get more packaging anyway. Plus extra manufacturing costs for the 2nd box or whatever the extra items come in and transport.
Getting this in the morning from one of my local retailers that have it. Getting the Switch version, the box art is nicer, it's a cross gen OG Switch game, probably the last big/traditional Nintendo release for it, and I'll play it on both consoles, handheld on Switch and docked on Switch 2. I'll get the S2 upgrade, data storage isn't a problem at present.
This weekend is pretty much the same as last for me, Mario Kart World on my new Switch 2 and Pokémon Legends Za on my Switch. I'm not really feeling Donkey Kong Bananza, on Sublevel 5 and finding some of the erratic camera angles frustrating at times, and it gets somewhat samey. Maybe I'll warm up to it a bit once I've played some more. Next week will be all about Metroid 4. Happy gaming everyone, good to see there's still some great variety in what people are playing across both Gens of Switch.
I'm looking forward to this next week. A bit of action First Person Shooting is something that is missing in Nintendo's current roster of games. If it's action sequences interspersed with solitary exploration I'm happy as it covers both bases. What can Nintendo do, keep things the same and get accused of rehashing the same thing over and over, or try something different and long term fans aren't happy. As they say, you can do everything right, but the outcome may not be in your favour.
This weekend I'll be getting into Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. Bought myself a Switch 2 earlier on in the week. I'll also play some Pokémon Legends Za on my Switch, she's not retired quite yet. Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Probably not day one as I've finally bought a Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle. I'll probably get Air Riders at Christmas with some of my works bonus after I've delved into Mario Kart some more and Metroid 4. Plus I'm enjoying Pokémon Legends Za on my OG Switch at the moment, so plenty to be getting on with.
Good trailer. A day one purchase for me. Personally I like the added Federation Soldiers. It's the best of both to me, lone expeditions in various biomes, and to break it up, some shooting action to vary the gameplay. People moan things stay the same, they add things to create variety and people moan it's too different. Looking on YouTube at Switch and Switch 2 comparison videos, the Switch 2 looks nicer on the eyes, but the Switch version seems more atmospheric with it's darker and less detailed environments.
This isn't setting a good precedent. Nintendo at the end of the day are the publisher, why wasn't Pokémon Za a key card, or the latest Hyrule Warriors? They're outsourced games published by Nintendo. One of the things about the Switch was not needing the internet. I bought it specifically for the Nintendo exclusives, I've only connected my Switch to the internet for an update once. That caused problems as I went to play a game I'd deleted by accident instead of the save data, and the game wouldn't play because the software version didn't match the save data anymore. I don't always have internet access as my job takes me places where sometimes there's no internet. Hence why I've never used or connected my Switch online since. I was going to get a Switch 2 before Christmas, this puts a different perspective on getting one for the time being, what if I want to buy a game abroad, but can't play them once I've bought it, because the internet is either none existent or too slow.
This weekend I'm carrying on with Pokémon Legends Za, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 (prefer it more than 3) on my OG Switch. Also some retro gaming by the way of the SNES Mini. I'll be picking up my Switch 2 at the end of the month once my house renovations are completed. Good to see in the comments people are playing a good variety of different games. Enjoy the weekend.
@Aispen The Judas Priest album Painkiller is often used as background/foreground music playing certain games in my house along with Ozzy Osbournes No More Tears.
Legends ZA is specifically targeted with lower sales than it's predecessors. Some of the games in the time frame they're referring to were released during Lockdowns. What are the other long running franchises doing sales figures wise by percentages in the same time frame?
This weekend is Pokémon Legends Za, really enjoying the gameplay so far. I'll also have a quick blast of Splatoon 3 and to finish off some retro gaming on the SNES Mini.
Bought it on release day. I'm really enjoying it. The gameplay is superb, the graphics are functional in the environment but the Pokémon and characters are well done. It runs well on my Switch 1 as well. It's a fun, switch off from life bit of escapism, which at the end of the day, what a Pokémon game should be. The arguing and name calling online with people supporting or dissing this game has been ridiculous. Adults swearing at one another online about a game in posts that kids can read should be embarrassed at their immature behaviours.
Bought the Switch version yesterday morning. I'm enjoying it so far, the graphics maybe functional, but they look ok where it counts. The toxicity online I've seen about this game is ridiculous, I get everyone has a right to an opinion, but the aggression and name calling for people liking/disliking is extreme. At the end of the day it's an enjoyable game, which is the point isn't it?
This weekend will be Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice Chronicles and Mario Galaxy 1&2. Picked up both yesterday for my OG Switch. Out of the backlog I might start 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim along with a bit of my SNES Mini to round off the evening.
Day one purchase on the OG Switch for me (as I haven't got an S2 yet), These Remakes look fantastic. Currently making way through the DQ3 HD-2D Remake in preparation for these. The sea level in a dimly lit room chilling in the evening will certainly be relaxing.
Still going through Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D, really enjoying it. Looking forward to parts 1&2 later in October. Also on a tactical binge of Tactics Ogre Reborn and Unicorn Overlord ready for Final Fantasy Tactics Ivalice next week. After a couple of beers I'll also have some retro gaming with the SNES Mini.
Good to hear it's a good remake. Looking forward to picking this up day one next week. This along with Dragon Quest 1&2 are my most anticipated games until Metroid 4, Square have done fantastic jobs on their remakes lately. If people like this and haven't played the Tactics Ogre Reborn remaster, I'd highly recommend that game.
Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D, in preparation for Dragon Quest 1&2 HD next month. Also a bit of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a couple of battles in Tactics Ogre Reborn and a quick go on the Super SNES Mini console I bought earlier today.
Plenty of stuff in the coming months for both system users. Personally, with only having the OG Switch still I'm chuffed at the line up, better than last year's end of year releases. As what is more than likely the OG Switches Christmas Swansong, what a way to go, I'm picking up Mario Galaxy, Pokémon ZA, Metroid 4, Dragon Quest 1 &2 Remakes, Final Fantasy Tactics and Octopath 0 all physically. before the years out, plus DQ7 early next year. People complaining about nothing to play is farcical. There's plenty on both systems, and if there isn't, maybe you game too much and need other interests alongside gaming.
Not got a Switch 2 yet so I'll be getting it for Switch day one. About to start the DQ3 HD-2D remake. All of the HD-2D games have been of a high standard and enjoyable. Live A Live was great and under appreciated alongside the Octopath games and Triangle Strategy. Also looking forward to Octopath Traveler 0 at the end of the year.
Between working on house renovations I'm going to be playing Octopath Traveler, currently completed the first chapters of three characters, I've started with Olberic. After playing Live A Live during break times at work and loving the art style, I thought I'd give it a go. Also going to be out walking for a bit, so I'll be catching a few Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Live A Live. Not much time for a lot of gaming at the mo, so this short story anthology RPG will suffice, currently finished Wild West. Also some Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Switch 2 will be purchased around Christmas time.
