Re: NYXI Reveals A GameCube-Inspired Switch Controller With No Drifting

Perryg92

Legitimate question from a friend who loves GC controllers a bit too much xD and now wants these for his Switch:
"Do these NYXI Wizard controllers have motion controls so I can play Switch Sports Golf still?" xD

Doesn't appear so, right? There's no mention in the vid, press release and website that I can see.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 Is Out Now With New Custom Items Update

Perryg92

Just had a quick play. Nice selection of tracks.
I like that I never played Tour because it means London Loop and Berlin Byways are totally new to me and so I have zero clue which way turn on first playthrough! xD
Merry Mountain is cool, but a very simple track overall and in terms of layout feels too similar to Sky-High Sundae. Aesthetics are nice and Christmassy though.

Is it just me or is the AI more intense in these Booster courses? Their green shell shot accuracy is mental! xD

Not sure why it had to take a near decade but cool to see about the custom items. Should be interesting playing with friends in local multiplayer.
Wonder if next wave they will offer a bunch of the outfits etc for various characters from Tour.

Re: Nintendo Switch Sports Ad Tees Up Golf For November Release Date

Perryg92

Let's go! Golf was my favourite Wii Sports game. Fingers crossed it'll be just as fun here.
Hopefully it does release worldwide end of Nov as I have a game night with friends on the 1st weekend of Dec and we always pick up Switch Sports.
If Nintendo can also drop Wave 3 of MK8D and Goldeneye N64 just before my game night too, then we'll be all set! xD

Re: Nintendo Expands Its Switch Online N64 Library With Two More Games

Perryg92

My childhood games finally return!
Will definitely be using my NSO N64 controller for this one during game nights with friends... Although could be lethal for my palms
I did quickly boot up MP2 this morning and maybe my eyes are deceiving me but it seems to run faster, like it's at 1.5x speed xD
Either that or I got so used to Mario Party Superstars playing at such a slower pace, with lethargic text boxes etc

Re: Kao The Kangaroo Teams Up With Yooka-Laylee In Free DLC, Out Today

Perryg92

@jowe_gw Sorry I've left you doubting! I'd really like to pick up a physical Switch edition too, this is the only thing holding me back.

Funnily enough only yesterday I did ask the YT channel SwitchUp if they could look into it this for their "All Patched Up" series and they "hearted" my comment. So maybe they can confirm the quality of the game and if fixed in the near future. Fingers crossed.

Re: '90s-Inspired Platformer Clive 'N' Wrench Will Finally Land On Switch Early 2023

Perryg92

Glad to see it's finally got a release month! I've seen it up for preorder at The Game Collection for years! xD
Seeing the little updates on the devs YT channel "Dinosaur Bytes" has been cool. Liking the nods to other games like Tomb Raider in one of its levels.

Will wait for reviews before any purchase, think I will more likely get this on PS5 as I worry it might be a bit ropey on Switch (but who knows! Could be a solid port to the hybrid)

Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Gets First Major Content Update Next Week

Perryg92

Hearing a fair few people on YouTube mention multiple crashes, yet I've personally not had a single crash during my 15hrs of play on Switch.
My launch Switch holding strong!! 💪

On the whole, Dreamlight Valley looks and runs pretty decently.
Have had the odd audio crackling bug when entering the meadow. And occasional framerate hiccups (but nothing to make it unplayable).

Looking forward to seeing what new content appears. (give us KH content Disney! you know you want to! )
I recently fractured 6 vertebrae in my spine, so this has been a great relaxing, cosy game to play whilst I recover.

Re: Talking Point: What's Your Favourite Music Track From A Nintendo Game?

Perryg92

Crazily enough for me it's the "Staff Credits" in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening remake on Nintendo Switch.

The mixture of the epic orchestration with the 8-bit Game Boy sound effects is awesome!
When I finished the game and heard this play, it put a huge smile on my face and felt I accomplished a great adventure.

If Nintendo ever choose to make Zelda movie I would 100% love to hear this play.

Re: Kao The Kangaroo Is About To Get Spooky With Some Halloween DLC

Perryg92

Still waiting on an analysis to confirm if the base game itself is properly patched up and fixed!
Heard there was a game breaking bug that deleted your save files (SwitchUp for example couldn't finish their review because of it) and the framerate on Switch got worse and worse the further you got into the game.

If fixed, i'd pick it up alongside the DLC.

Re: Hori Officially Announces Switch Split Pad Compact Western Release

Perryg92

It's a shame rumble, gyro and wireless play are all missing with these.
Have the Daemon X Machina Split Pad Pro but it was just that little bit to big in the hand for me + felt too hollow and light.

Was recently looking at alternatives (although were unlicensed) and Binbok and NYXI kept coming up, but despite having the majority of features, it seems their quality control is really hit and miss.
Didn't want to risk it so just got a Skull & Co ZenGrip instead.

If these Split Pad Compacts had the additional features, would have likely been an instant purchase.

Re: Nintendo Direct Showcase Confirmed For Tomorrow

Perryg92

So will the Nintendo of Europe YT channel not be livestreaming either?
They say on twitter to stay tuned for updates from 16:00 CEST (3pm UK)

If they are streaming on their channel, surely for us UK people it'd may be better to check out their stream than the US one if potential regional differences (like with special edition announcements etc) arise.

Re: Mario Strikers: Battle League Update Adds Daisy, Shy Guy, And More

Perryg92

Fair enough, but would prefer additional game modes as it's so barebones.
Even after playing 2-3 rounds with friends in local multiplayer we all zone out and switch to something else.

Would be cool too if the stadiums weren't just different skins but have theme specific on pitch obstacles etc.
I swear the Wii game had that?
And perhaps different size pitches? The ones in Battle League feel so close and tight.

Re: Nintendo Reassures Fans "More" N64 Games Will Be Added To Switch Online

Perryg92

Would really like to see Rocket: Robot on Wheels as I never heard of it until NitroRad and Antdude.
Putting my nostalgia goggles on, taking me back to the 90s as a kid I'd like to see NSO add:
Goldeneye
Tetrisphere
Diddy Kong Racing
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Pokemon Stadium 1/2 (love the minigames!)
Snowboard Kids
Top Gear Overdrive
Mario Party (1 of the 3) - but doubtful after MP Superstars release
Rugrats in Paris

Re: Nintendo Is Adding Pokémon Puzzle League To Switch Online's Expansion Pack

Perryg92

Sweet! Will give this a try.
Would love for Tetrisphere to also eventually make its way to NSO. That game is the only video game that got my parents hooked. Fond memories playing that all together in the late 90s.

Pie in the sky hope that will never come to fruition i'm sure... Conker's Bad Fur Day!
Maybe it's with rose tinted glasses but the split screen multiplayer was amazing! Had so much fun playing Heist, War and Deathmatch with friends.

Re: A Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct Will Be Airing This Wednesday

Perryg92

Who knows! Nintendo might announce that a proper Direct will air the following week at the end of this one.
Just a reverse of what they've done before, whereby in a regular Direct they announced a specific one like for Smash or AC.
It would align perfectly with Alanah Pearce's comment that a Direct (I presume she meant general) is on the 29th.

Tbh though I have SO MANY backlog games across Switch/PS5 at the moment, that I can survive without one. Perhaps a Direct in September when said backlog is slightly reduced.

Re: Ty The Tasmanian Tiger Studio Teases A New Switch Project

Perryg92

So it looks like they have two projects:
1 "new release for Switch from our own catalog"... to me that means an existing game, but new for Switch... Maybe one of their Star Wars Clone Wars games remastered like they did with Force Unleashed? Or perhaps Legend of Spyro?

2 is the entirely new game. Wonder who the publisher is.

Re: Review: Kao The Kangaroo - Rough Edges Can't Ruin This 'Roo's Return

Perryg92

Think this will be wait for a few patches before I buy for me!
Been seeing a few other reviews for the Switch version saying there is a game breaking glitch that wiped their saves completely (this is on the latest version 1.1 of the game) . Nintendolife team must have got lucky not triggering it.
Tis a slight shame as I love my 00s era 3D platformers.

Re: Feature: 'Spirittea' Is A Heady Brew Of Stardew Valley And Spirited Away, Coming To Switch Soon

Perryg92

Looks cool! I like the concept.
My only hope would be that the daily clock doesn't run too fast. I know soooooo many people will disagree with me, but I feel the clock in Stardew is too fast and it was turn off for me.

Games like "Littlewood" on the other hand I preferred in that time moved forward based on your actions. "Spiritfarer" was also a good speed of time I felt.

Re: Nintendo Download: 28th April (Europe)

Perryg92

Eyeing up Parkasaurus, but only got Jurassic World: Evolution the other week in an eshop sale and have JW:E 2 on PS5 too, so might be a bit dino'd out! xD
Physical copy of Nintendo Switch Sports arriving tomorrow!

Re: Review In Progress: Nintendo Switch Sports - Familiar Fun With Friends, But Little More

Perryg92

@AndyC_MK111 You'd hope there'd be some form of roadmap, but I don't think Nintendo has any set structure on how they proceed with free DLC or not.

Just look at Super Mario Party for example! Sold incredibly well (I think the 7th best selling Switch game) and people called out for additional boards as free DLC... sadly never came to be. Instead we got a MP: Superstars a few years after.
Whereas Mario Tennis Aces and Golf: Super Rush are way, way lower in sales, yet got a consistent set up of updates.

Could be that developer Camelot had time to do that with the sports titles, but NDcube just wanted to move onto the next thing.
Just got to wait n see with Switch Sports!

Re: Parkasaurus, An Adorable Take On Jurassic Park, Roars Onto Switch Soon

Perryg92

That's crazy! Just the other day I was checking to see if Parkasaurus was out or soon to be released, so that I could play with my nephew... No details, so I bought Jurassic World: Evolution on Switch as it was on sale and Evolution 2 on PS5 as well! 😂
Cut to today and we have a release date!... Will still get it! I'll be chock full of Dino sims! 😂

Re: Rumour: Is A LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Demo Incoming?

Perryg92

Already have the game on PS5, but would like to check out the demo to see the differences visually.

I was deliberating between the 2 consoles, but ultimately ended up with the PS5 version as I was concerned Switch would be pared back quite heavily (I have Lego City Undercover and Marvel Super Heroes 2 on Switch which can be hit n miss at times)... but, doesn't seem to entirely be the case for Skywalker Saga and a decent port... but still happy to play on next gen, despite missing out on handheld play.

Re: F-Zero X Joins Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack Later This Week

Perryg92

Ah memories of playing my cousin''s copy of FZero in 98 at the grand ole age of 6, with no clue what I was doing xD

Sorry if anyone's already noted this in the comments, so I went back to the Expansion Pass overview trailer from when it launched and there seems to now be 3 remaining games left from what they showed: Kirby The Crystal Shards, Pokemon Snap and Mario Golf... wonder what's next! and what comes after those 3!
