Already a year! This game was an absolute saviour for me. Bought the game at launch, but unfortunately within that week I was on a ventilator thanks to Covid (only 27yrs old btw).
After 2 weeks and out of hospital and back home, AC was there to try and help take my mind off things during my recovery and the game did amazingly so for a few months onwards.
Sadly there's a caveat now that when I boot up the game I am reminded of this time last year. So lately has been sat idly on the shelf.
The nostalgia! Hit so hard!
that music took me back me at age 7, booting up Pokemon Gold on my lime green Gameboy Color and just being amazed at the thought of going on this big adventure in the palm of my hands
@Henmii Digital Foundry has just released a video on YouTube and the Switch version seems to run very solidly as a whole. Although looks like Activision lied that it's 1080p docked/720p handheld but still slightly higher res than the N'sane Trilogy
No physical for Crash 4, no buy! And not gonna import. Will just wait n see if they eventually make physical copies for UK/Europe. Only way I'd get it on eshop is if down the road they put it on sale for 50% off +
Is it just me or can no one else find physical copies of Crash 4 to preorder here in the UK for either Switch or PS5?!? Sorry, but won't be buying digitally at £45!
Seen that Bug Fables is £19... Heard it's on par with Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door... Anyone confirm it's that good? Also Burnout is tempting. Haven't delved into a driving game since Need for Speed Underground 2 on PS2! xD
21st Feb is the 35th anniversary of Legend of Zelda so I am expecting "surprise" announcements of Zelda collections for Switch.
Again making a crazy prediction of 2 sets: Handheld Zelda collection (Phantom Hourglass, Minish Cap and Link Between Worlds) and Home Console collection (OoT, Wind Waker and TP).
OR a timeline collection. So Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks in one.... OoT, Majora's Mask and TP in another???
Considering the Taiwan ratings board had rated Ratchet and Clank on PS5 and then later that day Sony unveiled the release date, I think these are legit! Didn't they essentially leak Bioshock and No More Heroes coming to the Switch way back???
A wait n see with the reviews game for me too! If if sadly falters, still got my PS2 copy of Crazy Taxi with the original soundtrack and licences like Pizza Hut to nostalgically go back to.
Would be really cool if they release 2 collections. Home console titles and portables. So the portables collection has Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks, Minish Cap, Oracle games for example. Whilst the home console collection has OoT, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess.
Impressive that it's 1080p docked/720p handheld. Wasn't the N'sane Trilogy, Spyro and CTR all 720p docked/480p handheld? Betting the graphical detail will take a hit though!
In such a first world problem of wondering whether to get on PS5 or Switch.
No mentioning of the fact they have told kickstarter backers that they are completely rebranding...
I have a feeling it is something to do with that.
Personally think they might be tied in more with Team17.
Wonder if Netflix's Witcher was essentially the replacement for Zelda. Maybe they had sets being constructed and thought "Quick! Get another fantasy genre game!" xD
Actually kinda curious as I thought Sonic Boom was quite funny. I'd be laughing at it's 4th wall breaking etc, whilst my nephew just wasn't interested and implored to watch PJ Masks instead xD
Have the full game on PS5 (when on sale for £30) and I quite like it so far. But the handheld convenience of Switch makes me wish I opted for that version instead.
With the demo I can check out how much it really is downgraded, and if I still enjoy it, maybe crazy enough to double dip (when the game drops even further in price! maybe £15-20).
I THINK I can transfer my PS5 save via the cloud...??
@Doktor-Mandrake lol! No worries! Is it due to that doing a disservice to the originals on PS1 gen?? I know a few people internally at Square UK and they refer to the reboots as that sadly! Guess it's just stuck with me xD
Cool concept. I love my Switch, but do hope that Nintendo release a higher spec model soon.
Also seeing Rise of the Tomb Raider on that device, that game should run on Switch no sweat as there's even a previous gen Xbox 360 version. Why Square hasn't ported TR 1 and 2 is beyond me.
I initially wasn't going to get Clubhouse games was but glad I did. Great game to just chill, take your mind off things and play a few rounds of various games, especially during these lockdowns. Even my dad often asks to play a few rounds of Billiards or Darts. It's great! Very reminiscent of the Wii days (wish though that the golf game in 51 Worldwide Classics was essentially Wii Golf HD rather than the top down thing)
Good for Nintendo, but for me personally makes me want to kick myself as I was going to invest 10K back in 2012 during the dire WiiU days as I thought surely they will bounce back, but decided not to at the last minute. Could probably put a deposit on a house if I did and sold my stock right now! xD
Played a few rounds and so far so good. Some of the tasks are little trickier using the sticks, but in handheld can use touchscreen if in doubt.
Such a shame there's no Nintendo specific outfits.
Running around in a Samus helmet would have been awesome!
But understand the subject matter isn't suitable for family friendly Ninty.
Always use Discord when playing with friends so no issue with voice chat.
Does anyone know if you get any additional stuff (a few unlocked outfits for example) as a result of the pricetag? Not at all a deal breaker, but I already have it installed on my tablet for free soooo....
@Stevethejedi hoping to see more Baldo too! @pixelpatch it was originally slated as a summer release, but of course 2020 is 2020, so understandable delays.
Was this review pre or post patch?? (Sorry if already mentioned in comments)
Just saw a review from SwitchUp on YouTube that the framerate pre patch was around 20fps in docked but now practically at 30fps post patch which came out 1hr before embargo.
Likely may get this game when it's around £20, still deliberating on Switch for portability or PS5 for a cleaner/smoother experience.
Great game for lil bitesize play sessions. Always play Billiards, Yacht Dice, Air Hockey & Dot and Boxes. Really wish though that the Golf was essentially Wii Sports Golf. Similarly to how Bowling is a near match to the Wii Sports counterpart.
Never played the original, but loved the look of the art style and as a KH fan, was super curious when they appeared in Dream Drop Distance. This looks neat. Got a bit too hyped seeing spots I've been to IRL like Harajuku xD
So this is developed by the person who made that cutesy Bloodborne game with the 2D sprites (Yarntown)! Kinda curious about this moreso now. Will keep an eye on it.
Totally agree with Animal Crossing. I had a horrific experience with Covid in April (on a ventilator etc at only 28yrs old) and it mentally scarred me, but the distraction of calmly playing AC for a few months really helped. A much needed distraction.
Oooh, I didn't! Played MK DS mainly on the DS Phat so the "wahoo" is more recognisable to me. Clearly didn't pay much attention when I changed to a DSi XL (miss that burgundy console!)
Just bought Jenny LeClue and Agent A after seeing the comments section. Hopefully will enjoy 😊 Only paid around £3 (a London price coffee 😂) so no harm if not.
Love my PS2/GC era 3D platformers, so definitely gonna give it a go with a physical copy.
I think the game's developer is one person which is really impressive! and would like to support as he's apparently worked on this for near a decade according to a YouTuber CrystalFissure who recently checked out a beta of the game.
The cameo shown in the trailer is really cool too!
My copy of Crysis seems to have completely messed up since the last patch (Enemies just T-posing and not moving, I kill them and they flail about in the air). It was fine at launch!
Thanks for writing an article on my tip! The PC remaster seems to have received a lot of quality of life updates compared to the original on GC/PS2 versions as well as nice graphical changes to places like the little shops etc so will definitely buy if it comes to Switch. (A physical edition would be lovely, but will accept digital again if not).
I love Jurassic Park, but just seen a review with SwitchUp and although they say the gameplay and docked graphics are really good, the framerate seems to tank the more you play (in docked mode). locking at a locked 20fps sometimes 15!
Handheld is smoother, seemingly at 30fps but full on vaseline smear effect picture quality wise.
Will wait and see if any further patches fix these issues. And £50 is a no go for me for a digital title.
Just had a go on the trial, so thought I'd lend my thoughts:

Was shocked too that I was able to take screenshots and videos. Thought that function would be turned off.
I was playing with other people in my home streaming Netflix etc too.

Really impressed especially as I tried Stadia only the other day to try out Immortals: Fenyx Rising and had a terrible time with audio glitches, the image becoming pixelated and lag.
I won't be coughing up £35 though for one streaming game, but may get the ultimate edition physically on PS4 to eventually play on PS5.

$20 (£14-15) is perfectly acceptable for the game to me. Nostalgia playing a huge part.
I do hope eventually Krome get an investor/publisher on board to make a Ty 4 (proper 3D sequel, not the 2D steam game) for current gen consoles.
