Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons' First Anniversary Update Is Now Live (Version 1.9.0)

Perryg92

Already a year! This game was an absolute saviour for me. Bought the game at launch, but unfortunately within that week I was on a ventilator thanks to Covid (only 27yrs old btw).
After 2 weeks and out of hospital and back home, AC was there to try and help take my mind off things during my recovery and the game did amazingly so for a few months onwards.

Sadly there's a caveat now that when I boot up the game I am reminded of this time last year. So lately has been sat idly on the shelf.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th March (Europe)

Perryg92

@Henmii Digital Foundry has just released a video on YouTube and the Switch version seems to run very solidly as a whole.
Although looks like Activision lied that it's 1080p docked/720p handheld but still slightly higher res than the N'sane Trilogy

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th March (Europe)

Perryg92

No physical for Crash 4, no buy!
And not gonna import. Will just wait n see if they eventually make physical copies for UK/Europe.
Only way I'd get it on eshop is if down the road they put it on sale for 50% off +

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 17th February

Perryg92

21st Feb is the 35th anniversary of Legend of Zelda so I am expecting "surprise" announcements of Zelda collections for Switch.
Again making a crazy prediction of 2 sets: Handheld Zelda collection (Phantom Hourglass, Minish Cap and Link Between Worlds) and Home Console collection (OoT, Wind Waker and TP).

OR a timeline collection. So Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks in one.... OoT, Majora's Mask and TP in another???

Re: Reminder: You Can Now Download A Demo Of Immortals Fenyx Rising From The Switch eShop

Perryg92

Have the full game on PS5 (when on sale for £30) and I quite like it so far. But the handheld convenience of Switch makes me wish I opted for that version instead.
With the demo I can check out how much it really is downgraded, and if I still enjoy it, maybe crazy enough to double dip (when the game drops even further in price! maybe £15-20).

I THINK I can transfer my PS5 save via the cloud...??

Re: Clubhouse Games Outsold Ring Fit Adventure, Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity And Paper Mario: The Origami King In France

Perryg92

I initially wasn't going to get Clubhouse games was but glad I did.
Great game to just chill, take your mind off things and play a few rounds of various games, especially during these lockdowns.
Even my dad often asks to play a few rounds of Billiards or Darts. It's great!
Very reminiscent of the Wii days
(wish though that the golf game in 51 Worldwide Classics was essentially Wii Golf HD rather than the top down thing)

Re: Surprise! Among Us Is Getting Sus On Switch Later Today

Perryg92

Played a few rounds and so far so good. Some of the tasks are little trickier using the sticks, but in handheld can use touchscreen if in doubt.
Such a shame there's no Nintendo specific outfits.
Running around in a Samus helmet would have been awesome!
But understand the subject matter isn't suitable for family friendly Ninty.

Re: Surprise! Among Us Is Getting Sus On Switch Later Today

Perryg92

Always use Discord when playing with friends so no issue with voice chat.

Does anyone know if you get any additional stuff (a few unlocked outfits for example) as a result of the pricetag?
Not at all a deal breaker, but I already have it installed on my tablet for free soooo....

Re: Review: Immortals Fenyx Rising - An Off-Brand Breath Of The Wild That's Still Worth A Look

Perryg92

Was this review pre or post patch??
(Sorry if already mentioned in comments)

Just saw a review from SwitchUp on YouTube that the framerate pre patch was around 20fps in docked but now practically at 30fps post patch which came out 1hr before embargo.

Likely may get this game when it's around £20, still deliberating on Switch for portability or PS5 for a cleaner/smoother experience.

Re: Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition Is Out On Switch Today, Here's The Launch Trailer

Perryg92

I love Jurassic Park, but just seen a review with SwitchUp and although they say the gameplay and docked graphics are really good, the framerate seems to tank the more you play (in docked mode). locking at a locked 20fps sometimes 15!
Handheld is smoother, seemingly at 30fps but full on vaseline smear effect picture quality wise.

Will wait and see if any further patches fix these issues. And £50 is a no go for me for a digital title.

Re: Control: Ultimate Edition Is Available Now On Switch, But There's A Catch

Perryg92

Just had a go on the trial, so thought I'd lend my thoughts:
I played entirely handheld in performance mode and I was incredibly impressed how smooth it ran!! No dips in picture and audio quality, nor really any noticeable input lag.
Was shocked too that I was able to take screenshots and videos. Thought that function would be turned off.
I was playing with other people in my home streaming Netflix etc too.
My speed seems to average around 40mbps

Really impressed especially as I tried Stadia only the other day to try out Immortals: Fenyx Rising and had a terrible time with audio glitches, the image becoming pixelated and lag.

I won't be coughing up £35 though for one streaming game, but may get the ultimate edition physically on PS4 to eventually play on PS5.
As I mentioned in an earlier comment, if something along the lines of Game Pass came to Switch, that would maybe be a more palatable investment as it's a whole catalogue of games to stream for a fee rather than just the one title.

Re: Control: Ultimate Edition Is Available Now On Switch, But There's A Catch

Perryg92

Tried to go into the performance edition and was 909 in the queue, so I shut it down and downloading NMHs and the demo for Age of Calamity instead.
May try again later.

Would like to know pricing! if almost a rental system and as @TheFullAndy said, a few quid for a week, I wouldn't mind trying... Although it'd make me want something like Game Pass/XCloud to simply come to Switch as there's a whole catalogue rather than just one game.

Re: Someone Is Already Playing Need For Speed On Switch, And It's Not Out Until Next Month

Perryg92

@ukaskew multiple theories I have read:

1) It's taking a little longer to get the carts ready
2) There's a day 1 patch for Switch but is still in approval with Nintendo
3) EA just hates Nintendo and have deliberately decided to release later so people decide to buy on PS4/Xbox instead and EA can say "See! The Switch isn't a viable console for us".

I can imagine 1 or 2 is most likely, but everyone will jump and accept it's 3 xD
