@PJOReilly Sweet! Just thought i'd let you know. Totally was expecting a hardcore fan to jump in the comments saying "How dare you mix Frontier up with Nvizzio! it's an insult" xD
Interesting, I didn't realise it was outsourced to QLOC. They've done a great job of the port. Was hooked on it for hours after work last night. The option for a free cursor mode is great! Great review too btw!
Just a heads up @PJOReilly your review mentions Nvizzio as the developers of RCT3 for Switch, but it's Frontier. Nvizzio made the previous Switch game with Atari. Unless I'm mistaken and they helped Frontier port it over?!? I didn't see their names in the intro credits though.
@Yanina oooh! it never really crossed my mind when I used to play. I predominately played in sandbox mode with unlimited money. Sorry! that's a total non answer from me. It might be the case though that the "Soaked" DLC broke it a little and made it too easy. I don't ever remember being low on money during the campaign missions.
RCT3 was my child/young teenhood, so downloaded immediately! (even better than I was able to use £5 of eshop gold points to bring it down to £15).
Unfortunate that there's no plans for a physical release.
Looking forward to start building my own Gardaland theme park all over again like I used to on the PC version... but now in handheld!
Sad that I am concerned why the Switch version is 10 euro cheaper.
Makes me think EA is gonna use 1GB carts and ask us to download the rest... and it wont even be remastered.
Wonder if we'll also get some insert ads of "The Boys" in there
From the start I honestly thought they may have been there to test out the emulator. That's it.
I think the same thing happened with the PS1 Classic. They had a ton of roms used for testing like Tomb Raider and Harry Potter, yet didn't show on the system.
Tis a shame as an N64 kid, I'd love them to come to NSO. But hey ho!
Although already announced and we've seen Switch footage. Would be cool for Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 to have a small segment to bring a lil hype and remind people, the week before release.
I'm not taking much stock in Base's email. A friend of mine once preordered Pokemon Sword from them and they cancelled it and sent an email blaming Nintendo. Yet that game was stocked elsewhere fine! I'm sure Mario 3D All Stars is more limited, but I managed to order from Amazon and then switched over to The Game Collection (so I could get those points they offer) with no problems on availability.
Wow the comments! Probably gonna get vitriol from haters for saying this, but I enjoyed the demo, I've always liked his music, definitely purchasing, especially as some of it goes to the Tim Bergling Foundation.
Such a shame. When I first saw this I was kinda interested as it looked almost like another good throwback to PS2/GC era games, but then an Easy Allies preview highlighted a lot of issues.
I've also now seen comparison shots and videos of the Switch version compared to the other consoles and the visuals really took a hit. The draw distance fog is almost N64 level! Plus a framerate that's a stuttery mess, constantly drops to around 14-17fps is a no go. Shocked that they're charging £35 too! Thought it would be a £15-20 title.
Used to play a load of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis back in the day, so may get this for the hybrid... But not at £50! Tbh this makes me want more for Frontier to bring Planet Coaster to Switch.
Got "A Short Hike" as it sounded really chill and the 3D DS style graphics brought some nostalgia. Surprised how cheap it was too! With my gold coins got it for £4. Might get Raji a lil later. Bear and Breakfast had my interest once knowing it's somewhat a management sim for a B&B.
Really enjoy the show and this looks interesting. But will wait for reviews before checking it out.
Also the screenshots and trailer appear to be PC footage. It doesn't look to be a graphically demanding game, so I hope the Switch version doesn't somehow end up low res and muddy looking
Downloaded Crysis and tried it out for 15-20mins handheld. Never played it before and so far, so good. Environments are impressive graphically. Character models look a bit janky and the lip sync is off in the first cutscene though. Some controls I need to get used to (e.g. aiming down the sights seems to lock your character, you can't really move). I play with a hori split pad pro so mapping the back triggers to run etc instead of clicking the analogue sticks down is nice.
Probably won't fully jump in until I finish Paper Mario first. Really enjoying Origami King so far.
@Dang69 fair enough! Still playable to me at 540p I'm sure I have some titles at the same or a lower res on Switch. Helps that I come from the n64 kid generation of sub 240p resolution games xD
Yup! Looks like I'll be getting this! (got £5 worth of gold points so might as well use them for Crysis. £22 isn't bad)
I play predominantly in handheld so 540-720p seems alright. Hoping more toward 720p. I've played lower res games e.g Wolf 2, and got through that, so will survive this.
Seeing ports like this just make me want titles like the Tomb Raider reboot to come to Switch! The first game and Rise were on last gen, so why not this hybrid!? (I know! terrible port begging! xD)
Immediately backed on Kickstarter when announced. Got my aqua green sonar pen all ordered up. Very much looking forward to drawing on Switch! Been using the 3DS app right up to last month! It was meant to be shipping out of Hong Kong but not sure if it changed, so hopefully exporting isn't too complex in light of everything.
Just booted up the game with the patch downloaded and tried out in handheld mode for 5-10mins.
Resolution does seem to be better - Looks possibly native 720p to me, but probably not though.
Loading seemed quicker and assets stream/texture load in better.
Framerate seems capped at 30fps, which is good, BUT i feel Spongebob walks and jumps even slower now!
This was all in the Mermalair, so not sure how the rest of the levels look atm.
I work in dubbing for films and we usually get what they call 'shooting scripts' when production is really early on, so that we can dub into different languages in time for a simultaneous worldwide release. Game development may work differently but I think there's still a long way to go. Maybe launch next year.
Just Paper Mario for me for the month of July... But preordered from The Game Collection as preorders come with a cute lil origami looking pirahna plant keychain. Pointless knick-knack xD , but hey ho!
Good they're acknowledging it. My original joycons I got with the console in 2017 didn't seem to have drift, but my left one had resistance so the character would walk extremely slowly, so bought new neon pink and green ones. They worked fine until the last few weeks when my right joycon stick kept moving the camera frantically in Animal Crossing.
There seems to be next to no stock of official joycons these days so I ended up getting a Hori Split Pad Pro.
I've drawn a portrait of some friends on Colors 3D on 3DS. would something like that be eligible? Or is it specifically Paper Mario related? Says anything goes, but wasn't sure if that's in relation to the spectrum of art formats.
Certainly wasn't on my radar when it was initially revealed, but then changed my mind and preordered it from The Game Collection yesterday. Arrived today and it came with an official 51 Clubhouse Games notepad and pen, which is a nice little touch.
Oh dear! I'm in trouble here and will certainly take this deal! xD
Despite being team Scorbunny in the game, that Grookey plushie is freaking adorable!
Glad to see it! I'm still one of those people who purchase physical copies of games and bluray films over digital. as they can easily be removed on digital storefronts. (admittedly buy some digital if small indie titles with no physical available). For the most part it works out alot better, games are usually cheaper physically in my experience and you keep it forever, no terms and conditions or licenses removing stuff
As a 90s/early 00s kid, 3D platformers are to totally up my alley and I'm curious about this Clive & Wrench. Some of the animation/lighting looked kinda creepy to me though.
I know they said they're inspired, but the title name immediately springs Ratchet & Clank to mind. And the hover mechanic is almost copy/paste from Whiplash on PS2. Will await reviews of this before diving in.

Okey dokey, I think it's time to double dip on Spyro. Haven't played it since the week of the PS4 launch and 100%'ed the 3 games. And for £5.83 per title that's a steal to me! Especially as it's a super nostalgic game for me as a 90s kid.

Re: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Might Be Coming To Nintendo Switch
Yes, RCT 1&2/ Classic are better. But I am perfectly happy having 3 come to Switch with their DLC's.
Played so much of RCT3 in the early 2000s!
Will be great having this on the go and Planet Coaster on PS5!
