Re: Developers Discuss the Switch eShop 'Gold Rush'

Pazuzu666

It's obvious. PS4/XB1 owners (generally) are chavs looking to blitz through the newest AAA releases, Indies will rarely get a second glance - if indeed a first.

Nintendo/Switch owners however (again, generally) tend to be more an eclectic bunch, mixing both AAA releases and Indie titles 50/50, sure, largely due to the fact being less AAA releases make it to recent Nintendo consoles, but that (for me) actually opens up a broader and more diverse library of games.

Re: Review: Golf Story (Switch eShop)

@kobashi100 while this appears to be an exception to the rule, CoD, GTA, Fifa and the like spends months at no.1 in the charts...the charts are for chavs - evidently.

I'd like a demo as I'm on the fence somewhat.

Re: The SNES Classic Mini Uses the Same Hardware as the NES Mini

Pazuzu666

@NinNin you can't. This isn't SNES hardware and 21 individual SNES cartridges you understand? This is a VERY cheap board using software/emulation. You can purchase a Pi 3 and 2 iBuffalo SNES pads for (roughly) the same price and score every SNES game release plus many, many more - should you be inclined.

Re: SNES Classic Mini Consoles Spotted In The Wild Ahead Of Official Release

Pazuzu666

I'll say it again - however boring some might find it - Raspberry Pi/RetroPie, ideally coupled with an iBuffalo SNES pad (or two). You'll probably get this set-up for roughly the same price as a SNES Classic with the added bonus great SNES games due to licencing conflicts haven't been omitted... Turtles in Time, Actraiser, Wild Guns, Chrono Trigger, Pilotwings, etc, etc, etc.

I don't advocate illegal roms and the like, far from it - original hardware/software first, always - but rather am just comparing Nintendo's offering to what is on offer in comparison.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokémon Steal the Show at the Japan Game Awards 2017

Pazuzu666

Words fail me when it comes to describing how in awe I am of A Breath of the Wild. Zelda (NES) > Zelda (SNES) > Ocarina & Majora's Mask (N64) > Wind Waker (GC) > Skyward Sword (Wii) >>>>> A Breath of the Wild (Switch).

Yes, I left out Twilight Princess because (for me) while a solid Action/Adventure title, I feel it fell short of the innovation and experimentation I had selfishly come to expect from the strongest franchise of all time in terms of depth of quality.

Re: Piczle Lines DX Gets 20 New Puzzles in a Free 'Horror' Update

Pazuzu666

Remember the days when you bought a game you got the whole entire game? These days it's more like buying a blueprint for what potentially could become the game.

Don't get me wrong, 'free' content is almost always a plus, but those without internet - yes, some such cases do exist - are being left out of the loop.

Re: Video: Exploring The 8-Bit Mega Man Games Of The SNES Era

Pazuzu666

I'm on the side of Mike Matei regarding the Mega Man games. Sure, Mega Man II is an all-time top 10 NES game, but it's trial and error gameplay doesn't (for me) lend itself to as many titles as the NES housed. Mega Man X is a good game mind you and a much needed at that time refresh.

Re: Star Fox 2's Digital Manual Has Been Uploaded by Nintendo

Pazuzu666

@Mart1ndo quite the opposite...

I'm 99% certain to receive a SNES Classic at launch, I've also a NES Classic in my possession, but it's not about that, rather exactly what I stated previously.

This gen - in particular it seems - is about the have and have nots, the boasters, scalpers and the Gollums. So, enjoy your SNES Classic. I doubt you'll spend too long with it before you admit an official casing doesn't negate all the great SNES games which haven't made the cut.

If I had to grade it...

C+

Edit: Actually, I've been thinking. Perhaps a C- would be fairer - what with the dock scratching screens, joy con de-syncing and horror that is SFII Ultra 'issues'.

Still, I've always bought Nintendo and will continue to do just so long as it's 1st party software remains as strong as always.
