Anytime I read any of these impressive sales totals I always remember one thing, that being the self-proclaimed 'hardcore' telling us Nintendo should get out of the hardware business and concentrate on bring their much sought-after games to said 'hardcore' consoles. Well, I'm just happy those running Nintendo aren't as shortsighted as these ten a penny brats.
Imagine a world in which everybody hasn't played every game released in previous generations...ok? I personally was lucky enough to play both Bayo's on initial release, but for those who haven't - for whatever reason - I highly recommend picking up Bayo 2, and if you like it enough, Bayo 1. Just be aware the original isn't quite as great, while still being great.
I'm a big fan of the N64, in fact just getting mine RGB modded lately, but I'll give this game a big pass. More a scalpers wet dream than anything for a legitimate N64 fan.
It's strange, isn't it? Digital release, indifference. Physical release, a gaggle of Gollums, sorry, I mean customers. I'll do digital thanks. Roughly half the price, instant access, no unnecessary plastic packaging polluting the planets seas and shores.
@Donutman you may recycle each week, as do I, but the sad reality is most doesn't find its way into the system for many, many reasons. The reality needs addressing, and all these physical releases don't help.
@Donutman the clamber for physical amongst modestly sized games is staggering. Yes, I understand physical for games running many, many gigabytes - even if many require you install them to hard drive - but 'budget' sized games do NOT justify a physical release.
Has nobody been paying attention to the problem people are creating with plastic and it clogging up the seas/shorelines?
Man, I wish we'd be receiving arcade titles which still play well today, not dated (while iconic) brawlers. For example, Final Fight, NOT Double Dragon.
Am i missing something? It looks worse than F-Zero X (N64) and far, far worse than F-Zero GX (Gamecube). I'm not surprised however. Unreal Engine always (to me) looks too cold and clinical, none of that Nintendo warmth.
@aesc where as you add plenty, right? My opinion is just as valid as anybody's on here, you can't bully me out, I promise. I've been playing videogames since way, way back, I continue to do so, BUT, gaming is hardly a "proper artistic medium", more a waste of time. I admit this all myself, why can't you?
I'll or be 'double dipping' based on this, but it's just great others who never owned a WiiU will get the opportunity. This will always be a niche genre however.
@Damo the chance to promote hours upon hours of great music, classical, jazz, contemporary, and he chooses this? If he can't take listeners seriously, why should we take him seriously?
When reviewing game released we've likely played previous I'm much more interested in the quality of emulation than opinion of said game - which I can decide myself.
Even though Odyssey was one of the best games I've ever played, any other year it would have likely been a shoe-in, I couldn't in all good conscience vote for anything other than A Breath of the Wild. A masterpiece for the ages.
@BigKing huh? Madworld was good, don't get me wrong, but neither Bayonetta 1 or 2 were "overrated" due to their exclusivity and far, far better games than Madworld, if comparisons are required. Madworld was mostly style over substance where as Bayonetta 1 and 2 offer both style AND substance in spades.
I echo some other views. I'm fortunate enough to own both Bayo 1 & 2 for the WiiU and unless nearer launch I hear details which elevate the Switch versions dramatically above the WiiU I'll certainly be passing. Still, nice to see both games reaching a new/bigger audience, much, much unappreciated gems.
This genuinely needed releasing before Odyssey arrived as the comparisons now don't do it any favours. A solid game, but when the Switch has so many highly recommended games available...
@HawkeyeWii I can name a dozen or so which utilised said controls to their fullest. The Wii was/is a much misunderstood console - particularly from the self-proclaimed 'hardcore' audience.
@Incognito_D that was never likely to happen, you know, since Rouge Squadron (GC) - while great - never sold well enough AND the Wii possessing full-fat GC backwards compatibility.
@WillTheLion yeah, only the reality is a very small percentage actually is fit for recycling. What, you think everything you put in your recycling bin actually finds its way into the system?

Return of the Pac.
Re: Review: Johnny Turbo's Arcade: Gate Of Doom (Switch eShop)
Way to drip feed us the games which perhaps on initial release played well and innovated, but played today are extremely shallow and repetitive.

Re: Legend Of Kay Anniversary Will Claw Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch in 2018
You'd think this game was brilliant or something, finding it's way as it has to numerous platforms. Very ordinary.

@Kalmaro it's not for him to prove it. It's for others to have evidence to the contrary.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend?
Goldeneye (N64) and Maximo (PS2).

Re: Random: Dragon Ball FighterZ On Low PC Settings Gives Us Hope That A Switch Port Could Happen
@Dang69 NOT an "idiot troll", sorry. As much as I want it, those won't make the transition to Switch, mark my words.
Re: Random: Dragon Ball FighterZ On Low PC Settings Gives Us Hope That A Switch Port Could Happen
As much as I want a Switch port, not a chance in hell this will happen.

@bezerker99 I did. Traded it for a PS4.
Re: Double Dragon Is Coming To The Switch This Week
@bezerker99 that's, good for you?
Re: Unreal Engine Powered F-Zero X Concept Astonishes, Goes Fast
@SaKo does it? The new Yoshi game looks exactly as I described previous, devoid of warmth and character.

A 6 out of 10 from the good people at Push Square really, really doesn't point towards a Windjammers spiritual successor.

Superb, but for me I'd be much happier them remastering Burnout 2, you know, before the series got all loud, shouty and aggressive...all EA basically.
