@jariw "nice try"? I didn't say it controlled like a mobile phone game, rather looked/played like one. As I've already stated I'm always happy to be proven wrong. I'm a massive supporter of Nintendo, I've already got a library of just over 40 games for the Switch, most of them digital.
@TidusUK perhaps you'd be better playing Star Fox 3DS. If you've not been happy with any of the numerous Star Fox games which have come since Star Fox 64, seems all you want is more of the same repeated.
These 'limited editions' are fast becoming big, big business. My favourites in particular are the ones which include EVERYTHING barring the actual cartridge, instead give you a download code, lol. Besides, it's not like with patches, DLC and the like it's the equivalent of the days owning a game you owned the entire game, warts n' all.
@Spectra yes, but I don't want to see the same trickle effect starting SMB (NES) working upwards. It's been far more interesting the 'retro' games we've been seeing on the Switch. Something like a Mario collection of games (for example) may swing it, from SMB all the way up to Sunshine perhaps?
A much, much overvalued 'bullet hell' title. A great game, don't get me wrong, but games in this vein are available on the Switch already, some of them even better than said game.
I don't know why anybody who owns a Switch doesn't at the same time also own Arms...should be a law made or something. Critically acclaimed, now just needs commercially acclaimed.
Cave Story is essential, but I own it already for the Wii. I don't think the 'upgrade' would be necessarily worth it (for me). Isaac is one of the few physical games I own for the Switch since I'm trying to go all digital barring half a dozen games I own. The rest look ok but feel the eShop offers better for roughly the same pricing.
Way, way too early to say, but, if the Switch maintains this momentum for 2-3 years, well, it's very much in line to be regarded as the greatest 'home' console of all time (thus far).
Seriously, my only major complaint is already I have a backlog of great games going unloved.
@AirElephant while I hear you, Dragon's Trap however was one example of this which converted me. Agreed, SFIIU was a bad example. I'll reserve reservation until nearer the time.
I'm happy with my Wii running via component. Both can be purchased for under £50 and unless doing a side by side with much, MUCH pricer options the difference is negligible. Anyway, isn't a system which plays both Wii and GC more desirable than a system which 'just' plays GC?
Let us put an end to this 'physical' lunacy, please. Yes, games (for example) such as ABOTW, Odyssey, Arms, MK8 and the like, games which take up a lot of storage space digitally, but for games small in file size, all that packaging/plastic...vulgar.
Brats in the comments section here. Nintendo gives us arguably the best game of 2017, one of the best games of all time, a near infinite supply of collectables and discovery, BUT we still hear negging and nitpicking. Spoiled, that's what we all are, spoiled.
Again with the 'physical'. Christ! Yes, for games heavy in gigabytes, you can make an argument for it. For games weighing in at under 2gb (for example), all that unnecessary packaging/plastic...
Just confirms what I had feared/imagined...people don't want innovation, experimentation or even a minor rejigging, just more of the same on an endless loop.
Having just turned 40 myself, I go back as far as vividly remember playing said Arcade at my local amusements. Can't say I'll be too tempted to pick it up next week however.
Sengoku 3: A technical feat - big, bold, detailed sprites, running nice too - but it's a bit of a chore and not nearly varied enough in it's game-play. Final Fight remains the benchmark of the genre.
Well emulated to Hamster standards, yes, I would have likely bitten. Sadly this doesn't appear to be the case. The Arcade/Neo Geo ports live or die based on the quality of the port, not the game.
@Late you should definitely look also into Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 given the chance, if you have a PS4 that is. That being the case BlazBlue: Central Fiction is currently available via Base.com for £12.99 - hell of a deal!
No physical release for Europe, happily. The game will be arriving as normal, but digital only, and that's something I'm more than happy about, what with plastic being littered up and down the world over.
The usual boring 'physical release' comments. I'd like to see all games of these relatively small size go digital only as an effort to combat plastic waste. I understand larger games such as Odyssey and ABOTW making a strong case for physical, but not these more Indie titles, must coming in way under 1gb.
People complaining it's not on Switch, get a grip! Makes much more sense for it to be coming to 3DS, particularly as it's sequel is already on said system. Besides, isn't the Switch getting enough games already...

Re: Review: Rogue Aces (Switch eShop)
@Shiryu as always I'm happy to be proven wrong. I'll likely pass having just purchased Tengai, but competition is never bad.
Re: Review: Rogue Aces (Switch eShop)
This is a mobile phone game if ever I saw one. Despite the positive review, pass.
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th April (Europe)
No review for Shelter Generations? Looks interesting but at that price I'm not going in blind.

Mirroring other comments, that's my social life over.
Re: ARMS Version 5.3.0 Is Now Available
@dunnyone what, the price of a decent meal out too much? This is an essential game as much as Odyssey and ABOTW is for the Switch.

Maybe not for Switch, what with missing rumble, motion and whatnot, but these would probably be a great idea if you be using a Raspberry Pi.

Re: Which Games Do You Want To See In Today's Nindies Showcase?
I wanted a date for Hollow Knight. Sadly I just learned this morning via the developers HK won't be making an appearance in any way shape or form.

Slime-San absolutely needs to be on this list. For me it's better even than Celeste.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Life's Favourite Games From Switch's First Year
So, so happy to see Slime-San on the list. Even better it's currently on sale and a steal - if it wasn't already.
