@VoidofLight I've been curious about this game for quite a while but I still haven't bitten the bullet. If you don't mind elaborating, what's wrong with it?
@Olmectron Oh, my bad. I misunderstood you. With that I agree with you.
Now back to my previous point, let me use cars as a parallel. What is more expensive, a Prius or a Ferrari? A Ferrari, of course. Even if we drop the prestige, a Ferrari is made with much more expensive parts than a Prius.
What was more expensive to make? Red Dead Redemption 2 or Breath of the Wild? We both know the answer. Also, is it more expensive to develop a high end graphically intensive game on the PS5 or on the Switch?
It may be your criteria to take this as enough to pay more for the game, but I don't think there's anything wrong in a capitalist world to charge more for what costs more to make.
$70 for the game plus $30 for the DLC is gonna make this an $100 dollar game. To anyone saying that the price of games hasn't kept up with the inflation, that's how they get you.
Also to anyone comparing it to the PS5, that's a next gen console with 4K, 60 fps and fast loading games (at least when it comes to first party games). The Switch is as powerful as a cellphone and it frequently runs games poorly.
@Jacket_p You couldn't be further away from truth. Ludwig's career was built from Smash and he always gives back to the community. No matter how much he advertises this or gets a last minute sponsor it will be a guaranteed financial loss.
Also the whole getting more subscribers is wrong too, since Ludwig is actually more popular than the Super Smash Bros competitive scene so it won't be a huge boost for him.
I know it's hard to believe, but in this case it's just someone who enjoys something and has enough money to give it back to the people that play the game.
@TheCrabMan They are rules created by humans aren't they? You don't find football pitches in nature waiting to be played by people. Sports being games created by people as a way to exercise and compete is a known and irrefutable fact.
@TheCrabMan "eSports are detrimental to both" can you back that claim with scientific proof? Because there is a good amount of research shows that it helps with mental acuity, though it can be physically damaging, just like sports which always damage the person's body due to requiring extreme performance at the top level.
"People leeching" of your game, are the fans who build something from it. Artists build their work and other people improve on it or change to function as something, it's the nature of art. But on that point I know for sure we won't agree.
I was pointing out the flaw in your logic by showing that anything can be pointless if you don't care about. Sorry if it wasn't obvious for you. I'll make it easier so even you can follow. Any type of sport is pointless if you analyse it, because they are made of artificial rules that are created by humans. Yet we can give meaning to them since they can be a show of skill and intellect.
Also on topic replying to you, these are people that are passionate about a game and just want the right to make the most out of it. Very bold of you to take the side of the huge multibillionaire corporation that is not affected by it in the least. Whereas thousand of players and spectators lose the right to enjoy something. Empathy goes a long way for understanding people's reasoning, you should try having a little bit of it from time to time.
@TheCrabMan A real sport like running after a ball is much more real. That's a real goal that is much more valid than an e-sport. Whatever you think is has value or not, keep to yourself and don't impose it on others. Different people have different interpretations of what's valid or not.
It is really good but game freak still made some of its usual missteps. It's insanely easy and now they even took the ability to play the game in set mode, which was the only option in the game to make it harder. It really feels like they despise the core fans and want to cater mostly to new fans and children.
If the performance issues didn't exist this game would be an easy 9. It's the best Pokémon game since Black and White. But they do exist and I think a 6 or 7 is more than fair.
I don't know where you live in the UK (I'm assuming London, Birmingham or another big city) but where I live that would never happen and it didn't happen when I went there yesterday.
If anyone is interested GAME is doing a midnight release in some of its stores here in the UK. So you can technically pre-order your physical and play it at midnight. Also a lot of people show up to these events so it's a cool way to interact with people that like the franchise.
@SolarisPolaris It is true that being more mature doesn't mean it can't be bad.
I think I wasn't very clear with what bothered me. I'll try to clarify with an example.
While in the original Fire Emblem Marth is trying to restore his kingdom due to betrayal, in Fire Emblem you have to talk to a character that is afraid of leaving her room. There's a huge difference in tone and I gravitate much more to the former.
A lot of the characters in the new Fire Emblem games act like unidimensional stereotypical characters of animes. Meanwhile in the old games, even though some characters were shallow the focus was always on the plot.
There are other minor examples that build on the idea that the game is focused on teenage drama, like the setting being on a school, the characters being mostly teenagers, part of the game being daily activities that can actually affect the story of the game.
To me the new Fire Emblem games focus a lot on the fluff while barely improving on the main part of the game which is strategy.
@SolarisPolaris No I definitely didn't want it to be a dating sim. They added something incredibly superficial which takes over almost half of the game.
Also the school settings and the characters are all straight from a teenage drama. I much prefer when the story was about characters like Marth who acted like adults and where concerned with the future of the kingdom.
So I disagree with the "shippers" are the problem with the game. I think the weak attempts into the transforming the game into how cute or quirky the characters are brought down to overall story a lot.
He's not. If he mentioned anything else that looked unfinished it could be applied to Pokémon because its recent games are unpolished in almost every aspect.

Re: Video: Everything That Could Go Wrong With The Switch's Successor
@JONOFTHEJONS I agree. That's why their next console needs a more powerful processor.
Re: Video: Everything That Could Go Wrong With The Switch's Successor
Just create a Switch with 4K and 60fps and everyone's gonna be happy. Easy money.

@Olmectron Yes, that's exactly what I said and you're not being hyperbolic at all.
SNES games should be offered as part an online service. Like NSO, for example?

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Fire Emblem Engage
Great gameplay, not so great story.
So like almost every Fire Emblem except the last 2 which had not so great gameplay and incredibly bloated story.
This is an easy buy for Fire Emblem fans.

Sports being games created by people as a way to exercise and compete is a known and irrefutable fact.
Also you deflected my question about your affirmation that e-sports are detrimental both physically and mentally because you know there's no concrete evidence of that. Pretty pathetic.
There's this article as just one example that both can be pretty demanding on a similar level:
