@the_beaver Unfortunately this is not the case of polish in my opinion. The game is way too superficial and repetitive to be interesting.
No amount of bug fixing and performance improvement is going to transform this into a good game.

The question is: Why?

Even though my favorite region is Johto I think the best Dex was Sinnoh's. A lot of variety in types and designs and also introduces a lot of evolutions to some classic Pokémon from
Gen I

For the moment these are just allegations. But if turns out to be true, those involved need to be duly punished.

Scyther/Scizor. Love how aggressive and menacing Scyther's design is and Scizor feels exactly like what a metal version of Scyther would be.

Can't wait until they drop it for the next game. Game Freak doesn't distinguish between gimmick and mechanic.

At this point I really just wished Nintendo gave the franchise to a more creative team.

This game is going to suffer greatly due to poor advertising. Most people thought it was going to be a strategy game with visual novel elements, not the other way around.

Gacha system transforms this game from a 8/10 into a 4/10 to me.

They're absolutely rated as they should. Good enough games for the DS, but repetitive and limited by the hardware.

@Lanmanna Legendaries are overdesigned. The ones in the new game are hot mess and it's hard to even understand what they are, like Digimon.

I think most Pokémon nowadays are actually underdesigned. But they've done over 900 of them. At a certain point it's hard to come up with new ideas.

Can we talk about how much rounder the design of Pokémon got in the latter generations? With a few exceptions, most Pokémon lack the sharpness and aggressive design like Scyther for example. Everything feels way safer, friendlier, rounder and easier to make into plushies.

Famitsu review numbers are decided by a very complex process of throwing balls number from 4 to 40 in a pool and allowing an expert manatee to choose the most fitting one.

Resident Evil always had a fun B-movie vibe with its plot. This series makes the plot of RE feel like Citizen Kane.

@Dr_Lugae I hope it has the same effect for them. BDSP is messy but we don't know how things went behind the scenes. Maybe they didn't have enough time or resources.

I wasn't paying that much attention so I thought it would be a strategy game. Unfortunately it's a pass for me.

Even though I think the punishment was a bit harsh, Bowser was in the wrong.
This guy comes off as arrogant and self-righteous so I can't wait for his turn.

How about a 2D-HD version of the PSP remake with voice acting?

That would be the best thing that's ever happened since the Big Bang.

The Japanese one would've been better if it wasn't for the sepia filter, it makes the art look a bit boring.

@khululy I didn't care as much about the swearing, but I think you hit the nail in the head with the teenage trying to be edgy thing.
It was trying so hard to be mature that as a consequence it looked very immature.

If it's as a bad as the first one it's a hard pass. It started promising but became repetitive, predictable and boring very quickly.

@Pip_Pipston Completely agree. I don't think voice acting is necessary in every game, but if you're gonna have cutscenes and 3D graphics I think voice acting is a must.

Overdesigned, I can barely make out what they are. Sometimes less is more.

Why would the game need voice acting? It's still something very new and barely used at all, right?

@LimitedPower I think the main issue is exactly on the fact that Illumination is handling the animation. They're not even close to being the best animation studio out there and Mario is a franchise that many people love.

While I don't think any hatred is justified, if the studio that made Minions is handling it, I have very little hopes for anything above incredibly average.

Everyone pitying him doesn't know that he is a terrible terrible person, there are dozens of accounts to prove that.

He got his comeuppance with Balan Wonderworld.

How about a new and better game? Much better than the port of a game that even not taking into account the weird control scheme was ok at best?

Out of focus Mario looks horrible in the Japanese one.

American one has the whole group, which is way nicer
