Re: Nintendo's Bill Trinen Discusses The Possibility Of Smash Bros. Ultimate Demo And DLC

OfNullAndVoid

To me the most important question is: Will we see a single player story mode like Subspace Emissary? I really enjoyed it a lot and missed it in the Wii U version.

From what I understand the original cast from the N64 version will be unlocked from the start, with all other fighters being unlockable. I would really love to unlock them in a story mode.

But back to the demo, I wouldn't mind one, just to enjoy a teaser of what's to come.

Splatoon 2 for me. I'm really getting into it and have been getting into the multiplayer matches more & more. I'm on the 4th area in hero mode, and just finished Towering Heights. I'm also trying out the stages with different weapons from time to time, but still missing a few unlockable weapons to fully complete stages with all weapons.

I'd prefer a choice. One for those who want a subscription service, and one for those who want to buy the games. Oh, and for those who want to buy them, have the games tied to their account, so they can play them on any system.

I also wish they'd launch the service with more than NES games, such as NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBA, and if they can do it, DS, GameCube and Wii. And if also possible, other consoles/arcade as well.

I do love the idea of online multiplayer though, I always enjoy a good co-op game.

OfNullAndVoid

Been aching to get this, but I know if I do I'll never wrap up at least part of my backlog... Plus, I'd like to get some games which won't take as long to finish. There are quite a few games on my wish list, such as some of the Shantae games, Steamworld Dig (1+2), Wonder Boy, etc.

With little time comes great responsibility in choosing games...

@SimplyCinnamon53 I've played that one all the way to collecting nearly everything, so I would say it's a very good game. It's a very laidback game, where a lot of the activities come from what you want to make yourself do. For example, I always like working on getting hybrid flowers and creating landscapes.

One thing to note about the game though that time passes when you're away. You can play with the game's clock, but the game has ways to discourage this.

Having said all that, I think you can probably find a copy for cheap by now. I originally bought the Gamecube version used, and ever since have been a fan of the series. Now I'm aching for a Switch version, despite still working on my 3DS town

I still have all the Dutch version of the comics, though only 5 ever got published in the Netherlands. Does anyone know if this follows up on where the story left off after its final publication? I noticed 9 issues got published, and never was able to finish reading the final 4 issues.

@Ooyah @Shiryu @GrailUK I remember the same thing of smashing into the towers, and being able to fly on your side. In fact, sometimes I would do nothing but fly on my side, thinking it would make it easier to dodge things, but still getting crushed. Looking back (and even occasionally playing), games back then seemed far more unforgiving, unless you could find the POKE codes

Re: The Man Behind The Wonder Boy: Dragon's Trap Remake Would Love To Tackle Zelda II

OfNullAndVoid

I like Zelda 2, but the difficulty is what sometimes makes it unbearable to me. I completed it once, but when I went back to it when it first arrived on the Wii VC, I remembered just how difficult it was compared to most other Zeldas. A remake would be nice though if it were to smooth out some of the difficulty.

On a side note, who here has played Legend of Princess? It's a fun little side scrolling tribute to the Legend of Zelda games.

Re: Details Regarding Nintendo Switch Online Services Will Be Shared In May

OfNullAndVoid

The thing that interests me most is the Classic Game Selection. If this selection is decent enough, I'll likely subscribe, but other than that the rest of the currently announced features don't interest me that much, especially since I currently don't own any online play oriented games.

One thing that gets me is that, while the other consoles have gotten classic games in bundles (Disney Afternoon Collection, Sega Genesis Classics, maybe some others I forgot?), the Switch hasn't gotten any of those. It does make me wonder if Nintendo struck a deal with some of them to release those as part of the Classic Games Collection. Of course, we do have various classic games being released individually on the Switch. Maybe that was done so it could end up being part of the CGC?

@nhSnork Actually, I enjoyed Sonic Spinball as well, and think a sequel wouldn't be a bad thing. I felt it was rather short though, with only 4 levels, but regardless of that I still had a blast.

I also remember enjoying Dragon's Fury & Dragon's Revenge. I felt like they, just like Sonic Spinball, took an action-adventure approach to pinball, which was rather refreshing.

A successor to the GameCube, the GameSphere. It will be able to follow you around like BB-8, replacing the cumbersome nature of the Switch which needs to be carried around.

The GameSphere will also include personality software, where you can make it behave like, let's say, a dog. It will mark its territory by leaving NFC chips, chase squirrels and cats, and sniff other GameSphere's ports.

“I'd love to see a kind of story mode or adventure mode, similar to Brawl's Subspace Emissary,” Nairo told us. “I love seeing characters in a crossover series interact with one another, like Meta Knight, Marth and Ike.”

I have to agree with Nairo here, Subspace Emissary was a lot of fun to me, especially with the video shorts in-between. On the subject of crossovers, I'd love to see Shovel Knight added to that list of characters Nairo mentioned. It'd be even funnier to see Scrooge McDuck vs Shovel Knight

Re: Random: Join Us As We Do Our Best To Guess The Super Smash Bros. For Switch Roster

OfNullAndVoid

@Yorumi Of course they're going to be as accurate. For instance, didn't you notice how pixelated the graphics got when he zoomed in? When was the last time you could actually see pixels that well? Of course, 8 bit computers!

Nintendo's new Smash is going to be all about 8 bit fighters. It'll not only have NES fighters though, but also guest appearances from the Sega Master System, C64, Amstrad, Spectrum, MSX, and other 8 bit computers.

For myself, I can't wait to fight as the Last Ninja

btw, where super sonic was pointed out, it's obviously Diablo, since it's obviously coming to Switch.

Also, Donkey Kong it is not, that's obviously the little curly bit on top of a freshly poured ice cream. Different reskins will be available for different flavors. Which of course leads to the conclusion that Nintendo intends to release an accessory along with Smash Switch, Nintendo Smello. That's right, we'll be able to smell the carnage as it's happening, including Wario's moves! The accessory will also be compatible with the 3DS for WarioWare Gold!

Re: Sounds Like Blizzard Really Is Porting Diablo 3 To Switch (Even Though It Said It Wasn't)

OfNullAndVoid

@RusevDay This is what kept me from getting it on the PC. I've mainly played Diablo (1+2) solo, occasionally going online to enjoy multiplayer. Unfortunately my ISP has no interest in stabilizing my internet connection, which goes down for a while at least once a day, which makes Diablo 3 single player a gamble on whether or not I can play it. I would hope that maybe Blizzard can somehow do a single player offline mode for the Switch if they port it.

Re: Oh Boy, Sonic The Hedgehog Was Almost Human

OfNullAndVoid

@retro_player_22 Actually, that would be the Turrican series, I think the Universal Soldier games were actually Turrican 2 with altered graphics (and levels?). Great games to try if you haven't played them.

edit: at about 4:20 I noticed that it is the start of level 1 of Turrican 2, so this one seems to be based off that game.
