Re: Protect Your Nintendo Switch's Screen With These Fetching Dock Covers

OfNullAndVoid

A completely alternative solution would be a dock without a front cover. It would of course have to be slanted to prevent the switch from falling over. In addition, it could then be configured to detect if the HDMI cable is attached. If it isn't, then it outputs to the Switch's screen, if it is, to the TV. It would remove the need for the kickstand then as well.

And to make a dad joke on the name for this project:

make a stand

Re: Poll: Merry Switchmas - Has the Nintendo Switch Launch Got You In a Festive Spirit?

OfNullAndVoid

I'm conflicted in my feelings atm. Initially the delivery date on my Switch & Zelda was to be 7-9 of March. Fortunately, on Thursday I noticed Amazon charged my card, and that it was prepared for shipping, and the expected delivery date would be Saturday.

I should be overjoyed about that change (I am! I am!), but at the same time it eats at me (it does! it does!) that it didn't arrive today!

Ah well, at least my Wolf Link Amiibo gave me the opportunity to get the new Link outfit in Animal Crossing New Leaf, so that'll keep me happy until my Switch finally arrives...

BUT STILL! ARGH!

@Nintendoforlife
Sweet! Can't wait to try it out on some of my PC games. Of course, if I ever play those again in the foreseeable future Currently my playlist is:
PC: Elder Scrolls Online
3DS: Animal Crossing New Leaf

After I get my Switch:
PC: <- A what?
3DS: Animal Crossing New Leaf <- Can't leave those animals alone for a day
Switch: Zelda, nothing but Zelda...

Re: Review: My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (3DS eShop)

OfNullAndVoid

Can't wait to get this. I just got a seriously sweet deal: New 3DS XL, with Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros 2, Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus Uprising, and Star Fox 64 3D for only $170. Should arrive this weekend, but I've already saved up enough points for this game. I love picross, so this (and all those games) should keep me busy for a long while.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of My Nintendo and Miitomo?

OfNullAndVoid

@seb5049 If I remember right, didn't Nintendo say something about My Nintendo giving players incentives to play games. If so, I wonder if the mission rewards for Miitomo could eventually appear in other games as well. So, for instance, let's take Smash Bros, do a 10 minute brawl and earn some platinum coins. I doubt they'd integrate it into existing games, but it might happen in future games.

I picked up Okami after seeing it for $10. After playing it I felt like I got off dirt cheap, seeing as how much I enjoyed the game, and ever since I've been hoping for a sequel. I'd probably give Okamiden a try if I ever get a 3ds/ds system.

I know the PS3 got an HD remake, which made me hope that maybe there's a chance for a Wii U remake, seeing that the gamepad would easily lend itself to the drawing parts of the game. Not sure if that'll ever happen, but I do like to dream

Re: Nintendo Download: 31st December (North America)

OfNullAndVoid

At this point I'm starting to wonder if NOA is playing some kind of game here. While there's no details about the NX, I wouldn't be surprised if it'll have VC titles as well. By holding back some of the primo titles Europe has been getting, maybe they hope to sell more on the NX at launch. Of course, I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I just feel like NOA has fallen asleep at the wheel.

Re: Nintendo Kicks Off a "Throwback Sale" on the eShop in North America

OfNullAndVoid

Decided to buy SMG2 since I skipped that one. I actually brought out my SNES with Yoshi's Island a month back and started playing that again, after seeing the VC version. Now I can't wait for Metroid Prime Trilogy to hit the e-shop, even though I have the original GC/Wii versions.

Also, what are some of the differences between Metroid Prime Trilogy and the original versions?

Re: Poll: Who'll Be Your Main amiibo Buddy?

OfNullAndVoid

I definitely get Link, Zelda, and Sheik, and possibly Samus. Although they haven't announced them, I'm still hoping for Ganondorf and Ridley. When/if Animal Crossing for the Wii U comes out I'll get Villager.

Of course, if the loot crate deal looks good enough I will subscribe to that.

@cfgk24 Now that you mention that you're not supposed to open them, I wonder if they'll work while inside the box. I'm definitely going to try!

Re: Hands On: Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter

OfNullAndVoid

Though I'm disappointed by the lack of support for other games, I will still get this as I have 4 GC controllers, and this would allow me to add 4 controllers at a price of $20, instead of forking out a lot more. Also, with Brawl I enjoyed playing the game with GC over Wii controllers. I'm still hoping that it will receive support in other games in the future, or maybe even with software updates to games whose controls can be mapped to the GC controller.

One thing I would love to know: Have you tried plugging in the controller into a PC? I know it would probably need drivers (which I'm sure someone out there will end up working on), but does the PC even detect it? I would definitely love to use it to add GC controllers to some of my PC games.

Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart 8's Diverse DLC Sets Up Endless Potential for the Franchise

OfNullAndVoid

I'm definitely excited for the new content. Adding characters from other franchises is a great idea, and opens the door for more possibilities, in this game and other Nintendo games. One thing I do wonder about is what music these new tracks will have. Seeing Animal Crossing, I'm personally hoping for Go K.K. Rider, one of my favorites! Anyone else have any particular songs in mind for the new tracks, if they'll have new songs?
