O.O
This is good for those PS4One gamers that can now join in on the fun. However how many of them will?
Oh and seriously 8 gigs in these days isn't much worse then 32. You will need a hard drive eventually anyways. I have an 8 gig and bought a hard drive day one.
They need to get rid of the 8 gig wii U. 32 gigs is even low and should be increased
8 gig is fine as most people just slap a hard drive on it anyway since 32 gig is not enough either.
@ikki5 they should get rid of both and do a 500gb OR get rid of the 32gb, at this point if you buy a WiiU you buy it with an HDD, and the deluxe its more expensive
The "deluxe promotion" its coming to an end, and i saved quite a bit of money (which was put to an external self-powered 1Tb HDD) by going for the 8gb
@ikki5 but I got a 2tb hard drive for my wii u for £60 and this was over a year ago, you could get this bundle and 2tb for what, 230-240 max? Still below the wii u RRP and if they brought out a new model with more memory it would surely cost more than that and have less memory so it's pointless. Or of course if you don't need that much memory you can get a USB stick for next to nothing as mentioned above.
If i didn't have one already and if it would be in black that would just be too much value for money to pass it up.
@PorllM so because you can buy one separately (meaning a hidden cost if you plan to do more than discs only), that means they should keep with the small harddrives? Especially with the 8 gig drive where you basically cannot download anything?
And funnily enough I'll pass up on this.
Never thought l'd see the day where the Wii U would be bundled w/ an M rated (PEGI 18) game. Though I realize this is less of a bundle and more of a buy the 8GB Wii U and we'll give you Bayonetta free. Here's a look at some of Shoptos other bundles - sort by highest price to compare bundled prices:

As for 8GB vs 32GB. I was doing fine w/ 32GB until I decided to test out the Disney Infinity free 10GB DL so hooked up an external HDD. Once hooked up everything goes to the external, the Wii U has NO option to set or ask you where you want to DL stuff like every web browser for the past 20 years. So then when your kids are playing HW and the HDD light goes out and the entire room smells like smoke, even though you are playing a disc game all the patch content - and the save files - go to the burned out external. Then when you tear apart the HDD and put it in a new external enclosure it still works, but while playing on the internal storage w/o the HDD there are then 2 separate save locations, internal and external, so when trying to copy the 1 external save from my son onto the internal the other 2 internal saves are deleted.
So while it's nice of Nintendo to let us use an external drive, they made the situation far from ideal and the situation really needs to be patched to be more user friendly. Having the ability to hook up 2 external drives at once but not being able to play while they are both hooked up is also odd. Too much concern on their part about piracy, not enough about end users.
Last week they did had the Wii U and Smash Bros for the same price.
I much prefer my Nintendo consoles in white. If you're downloading games then the 32GB is not enough either, so may as well just pick the colour you prefer.
I think this is fantastic and will hopefully get a few more systems out there. I tweeted this deal a few times this morning, to yourselves included, so glad you're sharing it
@ikki5 not because you can buy one separately, because they're much cheaper separately than they would ever be built in
I have a feeling the next console will start at 64 gb
@PorllM hmm... doubt it, external hard drives are usually more expensive than internal especially for buying them for manufacturing. Yeah, from time to time you can get a good deal on external hardrives but lets face it, I paid $96 for my internal 2 TB drive in my computer and it's a hard drive that is meant for a server. I could have gone with a cheaper one but I wanted the faster hard drive speed. Also, you can get 500gig internal for like $40-$50 now, some times cheaper. Also they'd be buying then in bulk for manufacturing systems so they'd probably get them at half the cost if not cheaper.
I have an 8GB. I choose it at launch cause I didn't care for Nintyland and white doesn't show fingerprints and smears nearly as bad.
Just a get a cheap harddrive. I used a flash drive since launch til I finally got a HDD a month ago.
Nothing wrong with the 8gb white model.
@rjejr the Wii U was bundled with ZombiU at launch, and that was a real bundle with ZombiU art on the box.
@Peach64 You're also getting a Wii Remote Plus,Wii Party U and Nintendo Land included with this bundle.
Edit : You edited your comment, never mind
@rjejr An 18 plus game? Isn't Bayonetta 2 17 and plus in the ESRB rating?
@ikki5 if they were to start using normal drives I agree, but the wii u currently uses flash memory as far as I know?
Edit: on second thoughts I have no idea why they couldn't start using normal drives to lower the price, the 500gb one used in the ps3 must cost next to nothing. I wonder if nintendo always using flash has something to do with their lacking account systems, as I've heard it's a bit longer lasting and reliable.
@rjejr Btw when the system launched in EU they had a Zombie U bundle so it's been done before. I'm sure you just forgot about that though right?
I was beat to that comment.
8gb model is fine while flash storage is so cheap.
I would have gotten the 8gb version if they offered it in black. However I couldn't pass up the Mario Kart 8 bundle.
For more storage space you can simply use a cheap flash drive, those lil memory sticks you have laying around, just insert into USB port & format it by going to System Settings > Data Management > Format USB Storage Device
That's insanely cheap. I am considering buying this just to get the games for me but give the Wii U to my nieces and nephew.
The thing with the 8GB model is that, if you're planning on downloading games in any number, even the 32GB model is too small. No matter which version you get, you're going to need external storage at some point if you want to download more than two games, so it makes sense to just get the cheaper model and buy a 500GB HDD.
@Peach64 i absolutely agree 32 GB is nothing the only incentive is the DDP but even that's ending in December…Nintendo should either extend the program or truly bulk up their Deluxe model…or both cuz otherwise ur just picking colors
If this doesn't sell...
Come on UK! Rise WIIU and Bayo2!
Crikes... That's half what I paid for mine on launch day
If anyone's interested, I'm selling mine for £350! lol
Jeez that shop to net is an absolute bargain
That is ridiculously (suspiciously?) cheap...
Anyone ever heard of this shop before?
I'm reminded of the old adage, 'if something looks too good to be true, it usually is'.
@ikki5 for the cost difference between the two system you can get a 320 gig eternal drive or a 1T in some cases. the 50 dollar difference is not worth it.
You are right that getting jump drives is not the way to go, but external drives are cheap nowadays, especially 320gig drives
@SnappyJon Maybe they are selling those mysteriously mssing system that got lost on launch week in the US
@Inkling SPARTA!
@OorWullie Yeah, it's a much better deal than I realised. Even if you don't want the extra games and controller, you can trade them and make it a bit cheaper.
@Spoony_Tech - "I was beat to that comment. "
That's what you get for being a wisenheimer
But yes, I did totally forget about it, so thanks to you and the guy who beat you for setting me straight. And it was a nice box too. I think my utter disdain for anything zombie related blocked it out. @DrkBndr
@midnafanboy - I don't know, I was just going off of the front of the box and it looked like an 18 to me.
Well the 2 game bundle is 18:

but B2 by itself is 16:
http://www.shopto.net/video-games/wiiu/WIIUBA03-bayonetta-2
The US version, we only get the 2 game bundle, is M, which says 17+:

Amazing offer, wish I didn't own a Wii U yet so I could grab it
I'm actually somewhat tempted to get that ShopTo deal even though I already have a 32GB Wii U...
@rjejr The 2 game bundle is an 18 because the first game is an 18.
I would already have a second Wii U if Nintendo had a self movable account system so I could switch between the two. This is a great deal i would have jumped on to achieve that goal, Nintendo pls.
Sweet deal. But I bought my Wii U a week ago in the premium bundle with the Mario games.
Hopefully a few people will buy this bundle.
I use mine mostly for virtual console games, i also have mario kart 8 and nintendoland, sonic all star, but mostly play snes and gba games Zelda and star fox hurry up,also release shadowrun as not played that yet and looks cool.
I bought it.
@FirLocke
Awesome!
