Re: Rumour: Nintendo UK Hints at More Mario Kart 8 DLC

NintendoFan64

I wouldn't get my hopes up. That usually leads to soul-crushing disappointment. Nevertheless, I honestly think that adding more content to already existing Wii U games would probably be a good move , since it's looking highly unlikely that we'll be getting much this year. I mean, dlc, as far as I know, isn't as difficult as making a full game, and if the Wii U isn't going to get much this year, then...yeah! Let's get some more content for some of the games we already have!

Re: Developers Don't Seem To Know Any More About Nintendo NX Than You Do

NintendoFan64

Alright, I highly doubt Nintendo would simply let any 3rd-parties on board go around saying ''Oh, yeah! We know what it is! Here's one of our games for it!'' until they actually reveal it. Besides, these guys aren't really big-hitters...except for maybe Toys for Bob because of Skylanders...what exactly do they do with that one? Do they develop the games, or just make the toys?

Re: Nintendo Confirms a Second Day of E3 2016 Treehouse Streaming

NintendoFan64

Yes! More stuff! But for those who may be worried that it's looking like things we already know about, they can still announce something new...though for the sake of avoiding the debacle that was last year's e3, I'd keep my expectations low. Also, on the subject of Color Splash, since I'm seeing some people above me talking about it...Nintendo, I will give you one more chance with this one. If it has stuff like characters OTHER THAN TOADS, worlds that go beyond the standard Mario formula, or even just the tiniest bit of a story, I will be happy. But, if it ends up looking more like Sticker Star, THEN I'm going to be upset.

Re: E3 2016 'Pokémon Special' Confirmed, While Pokémon Sun and Moon Will Feature in the Treehouse Broadcast

NintendoFan64

Oh, thank God! Zelda is nice, but if it'd REALLY be disappointing if it was the only thing there. Now let's just hope that there's some unannounced games revealed also. Maybe a couple more 3ds games, or an hd remaster of a Gamecube game or something for the Wii U, because the current lineup of Nintendo releases for it this year is, in a word, disappointing.

Re: Video: Weep with Us Over these Top Five Gaming Series that Ain't What They Used to Be

NintendoFan64

@CreamyDream Hate to admit it, but...yeah. Admittedly, I loved 3D World, and it's honestly one of my favorite Mario games, and Mario Maker is awesome (there have been very few games that I have begged for as much as something like Mario Maker), but the thing is...Nintendo has just been doing nothing but playing it safe with Mario. It's just the same worlds, with the same enemies, and the story, They barely even try to do anything new, and don't even get me started on what they did to Paper Mario...they took a perfectly good series, and sucked out its very soul.
@HeroponRiki I think you misheard him: those were honorable mentions of series that have actually improved over the years.

Re: Video: Poor Old Sonic Can't Even Win in the Rio Olympics

NintendoFan64

@GoldenGamer88 I thought that was just with the 3DS version? Also, look at Mario! What are you doing, man!? Is winning so important, that you're filled with unseathed rage? Whatever happened to good sportsmanship!? ...But in all seriousness, can we please just get a Mario + Sonic platformer already? I mean, does anyone actually still care about this series anymore?

Re: Nintendo Publishes Part Two of the Miyamoto and Hayashi Star Fox Zero Interview

NintendoFan64

@Rin-go Allright, a couple things:
1. Yes there are people who hurl insults at him and say that he should retire, but that's not everyone. There are people who simply want him to listen to criticism and get with the times.
2. We do want new ideas. But not when those new ideas can potentially make controlling the game more difficult than it needs to be. OR when it gets rid of everything that made people like the series in the first place (lookin' at you, Sticker Star).
3. The reason that people are getting so fed up with him is that these decisions he's been making aren't just certain grueling parts of a game: they're decisions that affect the games in their entirety, and for the worse. And it's been happening a bit more frequently lately.

Re: Nintendo Publishes Part Two of the Miyamoto and Hayashi Star Fox Zero Interview

NintendoFan64

Okay...since we are talking about Miyamoto and the whole retirement idea, let me simply speak up: do I think that Miyamoto should retire? No. However, I don't think that any sort of criticism against him should simply be dismissed. Miyamoto has done some great things over the years, created some amazing ips, but lately his decisions have been a bit...questionable. The controls for Starfox Zero. You CAN get used to them...however, when there are people who end up taking a couple of hours to get used them, there's a bit of a problem. A couple of minutes? Sure. A couple of hours? That's bad. Moving on, there's Paper Mario. Okay, Paper Mario is a series that is known for it's good story-telling and lovable characters. With that said, if you get rid of those two, you're pretty much taking away the series' identity. Yet he did it anyway. This could also be applied to the Galaxy games, where, after the more story-driven Galaxy 1 gave us Rosalina, a character who actually HAS character development, and paints Bowser as more of a maniacal tyrant than a bully, ultimately making him more of a threat, Miyamoto just made it stop...and then acted like it was something to brag about. And not only that, but there's also his reasoning behind there not being a new F-Zero. Miyamoto has said that a new F-Zero can happen...but only if they have the right controller. So...basically, instead of just making a new F-Zero game with the gameplay that people fell in love with, Miyamoto feels like the series can't continue unless he can shoehorn some gimmicky control scheme. The problem here is that Miyamoto is so caught up with "innovation", that it's leading to poor design choices. And people are apparently not allowed to criticize him for that because of his history. Kind of like how George Lucas didn’t have any criticism when making the Star Wars prequels because of his legacy, and we all know how that turned out…The point I am trying to make here, is that it is okay to criticize someone. And it helps both sides, really. It helps the consumers get more products that they’d be happy with, and it help the designers learn from there mistakes, and ultimately improve and make even better things.

Re: Nintendo is Getting Into the Movie Business

NintendoFan64

@IamWaluigi Eh...truth be told, the only one I'd be super confident in is Metroid. Those three you mentioned I think COULD work, but I feel as though something like an anime would be better...but that's just me.
@Dakt You're in luck! I believe Nintendo DID say a while ago that they would give anime a go...though, really, that wouldn't be anything new (let's see...there's been a Pokemon anime, a Mario anime, an F-Zero anime, an Animal-Crossing anime movie, a Fire Emblem anime, and a Kirby anime).
@BluStreak While that would most certainly be a bigger deal than the second-coming of Jesus, I'm afraid you'll have to speak to Disney about that.

Re: Rumour: Sources Go to Battle Again Over Nintendo NX Power

NintendoFan64

Great...more rumors, that will ultimately be taken as fact...even though Emily's track record isn't exactly all that reliable (and before anyone brings up Paper Mario, 1. That was just a lucky guess. Anyone could've predicted that, and 2. Paper Mario Wii U was rumored for quite some time).

Re: Assassin's Creed Movie Trailer Leaps Out Of The Shadows And Into The Spanish Inquisition

NintendoFan64

@Damo Yes, but it doesn't really have a big history with the company. The only two games I can think of on Nintendo consoles are 3 and 4. It just sort of seemed kind of strange. I mean, I could imagine something related to, say, Megaman, or Sonic, or Rare (given they used to work for Nintendo) being a big deal for Nintendo fans, but not Assasin's Creed, unless it was something directly related to Nintendo.
