Another week has passed in the world of Nintendo, and so it's time for us to round up the week's events in a single, tidy package.
This week we look at the turbulent response to the latest trailer for the oft delayed Mighty No. 9, A pair of interesting new costumes for Super Mario Maker, and what is supposedly the most useless starting monster from the entire series of Pokémon games.

I forgot to check that Monster Hunter interview, so will need to go watch it.
@Mario-Man-Child People still say First?
Wow it really was a slow news week wasn't it, even for Nintendo. The sooner we get to see more Zelda, and then NX (whenever that happens) the better.
@Mario-Man-Child dude, if you're going to say stuff like 'first' then you need to develop a thicker skin.
OT- so much disappointment over MN9, but how many non Kickstarter games go through the same level of downgrading from their initial vision, we just never hear about it?
Oh, come on, Alex, Bulbasaur is awesome
I see a certain story this week has been ignored because it was a lightning rod for conflict. My God were the Wii U reviews bad this week, averaging less than 5/10 for the 4 games. And I dare say Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge deserved less than 7/10, probably a 5/10.
Pizza explosions are bad for my complexion.
@Lord please don't swear on Nintendo life, it is classier here than that....
Very uneventful week in the world of Nintendo.
@Moon ...and likely to remain that way till March 2017. Hopefully, it'll be worth the wait.
@c1pher_c0mplet You're most likely right. I've still got my fingers crossed for a 3DS direct at some point, though, hopefully soon...
The game doesn't actually look too bad in the trailer; it looks pretty good actually (for what it is*), but you'll likely only realise that if you turn off the sound entirely. Also, they show the dashing far too much in this trailer too. General gameplay videos have done it a bit more justice.
*If you're one of the backers who was after basically a new Mega Man game for the modern generation, that's pretty much exactly what you're getting
This week made me cry like an anime fan on prom night. Also, we all know that Bulbasaur is far from useless, right Alex? RIGHT!?
Bulbasaur is great. Powerful against the first several gym leaders and, quite honestly, leech seed might be one of the most OP moves in the game if you use it right.
Well, Mighty No. 9 is starting to look a lot like the original concept art, for whatever that's worth.
"I'm really glad I never backed it!" Aw Alex now I feel bad, I was one of many who backed MN9 (the only game I've backed other than Yooka-Laylee) now I'm wishing I never bothered. ;~;
Bulbasaur was so amazing for its generation but not so much in Pokémon X/Y. (Mega Venusaur makes up for it, however.) :3
@Lord
I suggest you stop using profanity, the next time you do such will result in a ban.
No 3ds version. ?
@Danksparce lol, and he reports you....he obviously doesn't know who you are.
"Targeted Harassment"
Seems legit
I'm still annoyed that there's no Ryu outfit for Mario Maker yet...
I want to go around Shoryukening every brick!
I would be more excited if the Mega Man X series came to the New 3DS eShop.
hopefully if there will be a demo available... if not i'm probably not going to pick this up..
Only Kickstarter I've supported is Yooka Laylee, and I honestly trust the team working on that one.
Honestly I think the people that cried about the anime fan comment need thicker skin. Just my thoughts. That being said, I'm not an anime fan anyway. . Still though, if people pick on me in a fun way about being a grown man that's a Mario fan, sometimes it's best to just laugh at yourself a bit. Not immediately be offended.
They should have never announced the game until now.
I still don't get the hate. For such a crappy looking game I thought it was a decent commercial.
@ekreig Yeah, I can see that. Was a little odd I guess.
30th!
yeah!
I got Sonic Lost World on sale, and I'm having a blast. Not a bad game.
Wait, so this wraps up the week? Man, nothing happened this week at all, now did it?
@ekreig Cheetos is only bad for the complexion of my fingertips, so I suppose that'll do!
@Al_Godoy I don't think it's a bad game but some of it's level design is questionable, especially the winter levels. The visuals are stunning though. It's one of the best looking WiiU games
