Re: Nintendo Removes Infamous Drugging Scene From Western Localisation Of Fire Emblem Fates

NintendoFan64

@Blues So...you went to an article from 8 months ago, talking about something that people have moved on from, probably forgotten about and most likely don't even care about anymore at this point, just to lecture on how I'm an overly sensitive child who can't grasp cultural differences? Because it sounds to me like you're the child here, not me. Because I'm not the type of person who does this type of ****. People have moved. I bet most people have completely forgotten about this. Let. It. GO.

Re: Review: Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

Okay, so it seems like the reviews are a bit mixed with this one. Also, about the argument going on here: if you're excited about the game, good for you! I hope you enjoy it! You're allowed to like it! Just as much as other people are allowed to dislike it! I've already stated in a previous article all the reasons why I feel some of the disdain for this game is understandable, so I'm not gonna post it again.

Re: Video: New Metroid Prime: Federation Force Trailer Arrives, and It's Still Fighting Dislikes

Christ, this comment section...let me just say something as someone who has never really been that into Metroid before: I personally believe that Metroid fans have every right to be a bit pi$$ed off. Do some of them take it a bit too far? Of course! I'm honestly surprised someone thought the petition to get this game cancelled would work. However, think of it this way: imagine that there's this series you really enjoy. Now, the last game wasn't really that great, but hey! I'm sure they'll make the next one better! Then you end up waiting 5 years to get a new installment completely in the dark, with no news whatsoever. The 25th anniversary is completely ignored. And when Nintendo DOES make a new installment, it's not even a main-series entry; it's a spin-off that doesn't look a whole like the series you enjoy. I'm telling you right now, if there was an actual mainline Metroid game being released alongside FedForce, there wouldn't be half as much backlash. You know why people didn't go ape**** over Pinball or Hunters? Because Metroid hasn't been completely ignored for years at that point. It was actually getting games. What makes this worse is that Federation Force was in development since 2009, so it's looking like Nintendo didn't so much as even THINK about making a new mainline Metroid game in the past 6 years. That's pretty bad. And then you've got the fact that they completely ignored the series 30th anniversary, so it got ignored twice. They didn't announce some special game, they didn't do a sale on the eshop, they didn't so much as tweet about it. And then you've got them taking down the Metroid II Remake...on the same day as the anniversary. I know that Nintendo has every right to protect their ips, HOWEVER, the fact that they did jack-all for the anniversary, yet wasted no time in going after a passion project that someone worked on for roughly a decade simply out of love for the series is just asking for bad pr. It was basically creating some bad blood with a fanbase that they already have bad blood with because of their incompetence. Oh, and as for some of you people defending this game, if you're looking forward to it, that's fine...as long as you're being reasonable and allowing others to be the opposite. For those who aren't in that category (and this includes some of the defenders I've seen in this comment section), and are simply trying to shut down people who are dissapointed and calling the Metroid fanbase "ungrateful", I'm calling it right now: some of you aren't even going to buy this game. You're just defending it because you can't handle Nintendo receiving even the tiniest bit of criticism. Not only that, BUT, if this were a third-party game, some of you wouldn't be as forgiving. So, yeah. Those are just my two cents. Oh, and one more thing: for those who want people to shut up because "they should vote with their wallet", while that method is a good one, that doesn't mean people shouldn't be allowed to voice their criticisms. Otherwise, Nintendo could potentially get the wrong message and take the bad sales (lets be honest, this game is gonna bomb) as "we don't want Metroid anymore".

Re: Sonic Mania Announced for Spring 2017, But No Nintendo Platforms Are Included

NintendoFan64

Well, hopefully it ends up there. I mean, it looks like the NX should be able to run it (assuming it's not potato-powered), and I'd assume that SEGA would be given a developer kit given that they seem to be very close with Nintendo nowadays, so I don't know. As for the game itself, I think it looks good. I mean, I'm gonna have to agree with @Seacliff here in that it basically looks like something that you could do with a fangame, but it at least looks like something you can do with a good fangame. It may not be as good as Generations, but it at least looks leagues better than Sonic's 15th anniversary "present".

Re: Hands On: Painting a Clearer Picture of Paper Mario: Color Splash

NintendoFan64

@Project_Dolphin You do realize that Nintendo HAS listened to people in the past, right? I mean, they put Earthbound on the NA Eshop because of fan outcry. They put Bayonetta into Smash because of the Smash Ballot. Zelda's being open-world is basically a response to people complaining about the hand-holding in Skyward Sword. So they ARE capable of listening...occasionally. Even if they weren't, then that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to express my dissapointment. I am the paying customer, and if I'm not giving Nintendo my money, then they need to find out why. Also, what is there not understand about these complaints? They took Paper Mario and turned into something that it clearly isn't. Of course fans are going to upset.
