Re: Talking Point: Considering amiibo Features and the Reality of 'Physical DLC'

NintendoFan64

Alright, here's how I stand: I can see both sides of the argument. On one hand, this is content already in the game, in some cases it's more than just a simple costume (like the Splatoon challenges and the new dungeon that's supposedly coming to TP HD), and Nintendo has definitely gotten greedy with it at the times (like Amiibo Festival, which obviously only exists to sell more toys), and it's basically dlc that can be a pain in the a$$ to get at times. On the other hand, there are some games that use it in a good way (like Smash, Mario Maker and Wooly World), and let's be honest here: most of the content that's unlocked with amiibo wouldn't even exist if amiibos weren't a thing. There is no way in Hell you could dress up as Megaman or Sonic in Mario Kart, or play as Ness or Kirby in Mario Maker without amiibos being a thing.
@MajinSoul You forgot to add that if they started putting 25% of game content onto an amiibo instead of just something like a costume, there would probably be even MORE backlash.

Re: Nintendo Launches an Official Tumblr Page

NintendoFan64

@amiiboacid While their are A-holes in the world that should be given a stern talking to, some Tumblr users take things to dang seriously and find something offensive even when there is nothing offensive to be found. And I will admit that there is actually some good parts on Tumblr, and I occasionally go there...it's just that the bad parts of it kinda cover up the good.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

@DESS-M-8 Okay. I can see the rumors of third-parties getting dev kits last year being true. I can see them being shown the system last year. I can see some of them already having an idea for what they’re going to do for the system (Pretty sure that DQ XI is definitely going to be an NX game). But here’s the thing:
2016 is NOT the best time to launch the NX. If some of the third-parties receiving dev kits only a couple of months after E3, then they’re not gonna have something ready for launch. They have to figure out how to program for it, come up with an idea for what they’re going to do for it, and then start programming. Not only that, but it wouldn’t make the NX very third-party friendly because that would be Nintendo going “Hey! Hope you like this new system! Btw, you only have a year to make something for it. HAVE FUN!” Plus it would potentially alienate some Wii U owners by ending the system’s life earlier than expected, and could scare them away for fear that the new system could potentially suffer the same fate. Plus there’s the fact that it puts the system smack dab in the middle of the Xbone and PS4’s lifetimes, meaning that it’ll ultimately just be playing catch-up, and in a few years it’ll be made irrelevant with the PS5 and Xbox Two (or whatever the heck it’s called) in a couple years, so basically, the later the better. Also, here’s some other issues I have with your points:
-Nintendo working on a new console for a couple of years is normal. They work on the next console almost immediately after one’s already been released.
-They don’t reveal the console the exact same year it’s released. The reveal the system, and THEN they go on ahead and show off the games for it the year following.
-Once again, the whole part about third-parties being shown the system and getting dev kits at those particular points in time are RUMORS. Literally anyone can go on the internet, make something up, and spread it around.

@DESS-M-8 Admittedly, I should not have cursed. It was unprofessional, and I am sorry. However, I still have a problem with this:
Nintendo has never stated that. They just said that we would be getting information this year. That's it.
One more thing: Could you PLEASE show me those links. Please. That's all I want to see. You say that they prove you right, so why won't you show them to me? If they prove you are right, wouldn't that have gotten me to shut up already? So why won't you show them? I have asked to see your sources. Please, just show them to me.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

NintendoFan64

@DESS-M-8 That's a f*king analys'ts predictions! That doesn't mean squat! And question, by "all over the internet", are you referring to the rumors? Because they're just that: RUMORS. They can be proven wrong. At the moment, there is zero concrete evidence towards the NX launching this year. I don't care if you you think it makes sense. There is nothing that makes this guaranteed. If it does launch this year, then fine! You were right! But if it doesn't, then maybe you should wait until there's solid evidence next time, okay?

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

NintendoFan64

@DESS-M-8 Where the heck are you getting that information? We don't know how long the NX was being developed, we don't know how long Nintendo's been working on software for it, we don't know when third-parties have gotten dev kits (the only way I can see them having something presentable for a 2016 release is if they got them in January), and we don't know how close to completion Zelda U was in June (and the decision to delay it was BEFORE then, and it's been stated that they delayed because they kept getting more and more ideas.). Where are your sources?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters

NintendoFan64

On one hand, remasters are a good way to help fill out gaps in between releases, and can give certain games a fresh new coat of paint. On the other hand, it's better to get brand new games, so you shouldn't go completely bonkers with remasters (heck, we've already gotten 4 Zelda remakes this gen...5 counting Hyrule Warriors Legends.), plus giving people a chance to play older games is kind of what the virtual console is for.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

NintendoFan64

@DESS-M-8 Yeah, well, your argument is flawed. You think that sheer logic points towards Zeld U being an NX game. WHAT LOGIC!? Literally the only reason that you people think that an NX version of Zelda U is guaranteed is because the game was delayed (which, as I stated in a previous post, happens frequently with Zelda games), and because you’ve gotten this idea that the NX is coming out in 2016 and that is a fact. So…the “logic” in this is a simple delay and something that isn’t even a fact, but an assumption…yeah, that’s some REAL logic! And while we’re at it, let’s look at the reasons why you guys think that a 2016 launch is guaranteed, shall we?
1.The Wii U not selling as much as the other consoles. So what you’re saying is that it would be a good idea for Nintendo to completely abandon a console that’s not selling well and pushing a new one out the door? There are several issues I see with this:
A)If they don’t take their time to make sure it has a good launch, it could end badly.
B) Would third-parties even have enough time to get prepared?
C)Some people (like recent Wii U adopters) might be upset that the Wii U gets it’s life cut short and don’t come back.
2.The rumors. Oh my God, they’re f***ing rumors! And a lot of them are full of s***! Like Nintendo shipping 20 MILLION NX units in one year, or the NX being released in the Summer.
3.It’s the only way that Zelda on NX would make sense.
So there. Have anything to say about that? Or would it just be a waste of your time?

Re: Crush 40 Facebook Post, Since Deleted, Points to 25th Anniversary Sonic Game

@BulbasaurusRex @LucasOne Eh. @Socar is really the only person here I've seen be glad about Sega's financial troubles. Everything else I've seen is talk that Sega brought it on themselves (and they're kind of right, given how much Sega has screwed up in recent years.), or fear for Atlus. I don't think there was really anyone else GLAD about the fall of Sega.

NintendoFan64

@DESS-M-8 Wait wait wait, Nintendo never said taht the NX was coming out at the end of this year. They just said that we'd get info this year. They never said anything about a release date. Also, why does everyone think that Zelda U is going to be an NX game? Is it because it was delayed and everyone seems to think that the NX coming out this year is an absolute FACT? First of all, delays are not uncommon for Zelda titles, so that means NOTHING. Second, again, the NX is not guaranteed to be released this year.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2016

NintendoFan64

Looking forward to:
-Zelda (both)
-Starfox Zero
-Project Guard (thought that it could be fun. Giant Robot didn't look so hot to me, though.)
-Half-Genie Hero
Not too sure about Pokken, since...well...I suck at fighting games. Smash is literally the only fighting game that I'm good at.

Re: Feature: Five Key Reveals and Releases That Will Define Nintendo's 2016

NintendoFan64

Alright, 2016 looks like it'll be good (well...better than 2015, at least. We have to see how things go along). I mean, right off the bat there's already several games that I'm looking forward to (Starfox, FE Fates, Paper Jam, Federation Force, TP HD, the last of the Smash dlc, Zelda U, and more Mario Maker updates), which is good. And as for the NX, I think it'll have an alright reveal. I'm guessing that it'll be at E3, because it just seems like the appropriate time to reveal it (in case anyone says that it should be revealed early because it'll be a 2016 release, I honestly don't think that it'll happen. I think 2017 would be better, just to get more time to have a good launch lineup.). As for Nintendo's foray into mobile...I have no idea how it'll go. Maybe it'll do good, maybe it won't. Who knows. But what I do know is that analysts (not gonna name anyone) will keep saying that Nintendo should've just done something like put the next big Mario game on a phone. Also, looking forward to My Nintendo, and I really...REALLY hope that E3 goes better this year (I feel like I wasted my time getting hyped for it last year.).
@Seacliff I can see them doing something like the Simpsons.

Re: Feature: Our Staff's Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2016

NintendoFan64

Let's see...here's what I'm hoping:
-NX gets a couple of games announced for it that ensure confidence that it'll have a better launch lineup than the Wii U.
-E3 has better announcements than last year.
-3DS gets some more love (with maybe some more N3DS exclusives?)
-Wii U gets a couple more games to ensure confidence in Wii U owners.
-Mother 3. IT IS TIME.
-Some more Super Mario Maker updates
-Pokemon game for 20th anniversary (I'm guessing Pokemon Z)
-It just goes a bit more smoothly than last year.
