Metro Redux Listed For Nintendo Switch By Portuguese Retailer

Well, this almost confirms it. Never played this series, will consider it.

So many good games coming to the Switch! Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Here's hoping we see the likes of Borderlands and Spiderman on the hybrid one day.

I've seen a Metro game running on Xbox One at a pretty consistent 60fps. If they drop the resolution and lower graphical effects maybe they could get up to 60fps? I'd be tempted to bite if it runs smoothly at 60fps.

Would be interested in this. Was always bummed that the second one got canned on Wii U.

Time to give the book another read, then! It'll be exciting to see how the world in my head compares to the world in the game.

Switch is the place to go if you need to play 3+ year old games from other platforms

if it's true hopefully both games will be on the cartridge.

@Mgene15 : Without being able to play them on a portable device, many of us wouldn't be playing these games at all.

I for one don't mind these kinds of late ports. What I do mind is when publishers take the cheap route and not put the entire game on the cartridge.

@Mgene15 Thats true, but newest games isn't always a good thing because of all the "microtransactions" and boat loads of bugs. Also. Metro Redux is better than the newest Metro Exodus.

Anyways. I completed both of the first Metro games and they are great.

I still haven't completed Metro Exodus because it isn't as good the 2 first ones.

@SeantheDon29 You won't see Spider-Man on the Switch, at least the Sony one. Developed by Insomniac, which is now owned by Sony, and they won't want to part with that IP.

Couldn't get into these games, felt old even when they came out.
Still a lot of people dig them, so all the better for Switch owners

Great games but a little much for the collection, 30$ would have been nice.

well the graphics will be terrible I guess, these games have top notch PC graphics so I have no idea how these game will look like on the Switch

Seems legit, it's up for pre-order at certain Russian retailers as well. The release date they list is February 7, 2020. I'll double-dip for sure - played both on the PS3 and they were great.

@NicolausCamp Spider-Man is entirely owned by Sony. Marvel sold all publishing rights for Spider-Man (except comics) to Sony pictures. So yeah a game funded by Sony and created by a now Sony-owned studio is never going to be released anywhere else.

Just like The Last of Us or Horizon: Zero Dawn.

@SeantheDon29 Borderlands is likely but it seems Spider-Man will be Sony exclusive for the time being.

We will probably see even more ports of AAA games when Nintendo releases a Pro Switch.

Metro 2033 was easily one of my favourites of last gen. Sure, the combat was clunky but the rest of the game was incredible. I wouldn't argue that it's a better game than Bioshock, but I certainly preferred it.

@Agramonte I have it on Steam and also picked the free copy on Epic (both on PC, I know). But I played this on PS4 because I do most of my gaming on the consoles. I consider pc gaming and console gaming to be two different realms. What excites me about the Switch version is the ability to bring it on the go. And no, streaming through PS vita doesn’t count as it does not work outside of my house.

I've played through both Metro games twice. Great game. I'd definitely get it for another go on the Switch. Still want a Fallout game🤔

@Dman10 Yeah, I have it on Steam, Also have Last Light on PS because it was free on PS+. I got it free on EPIC, because that is where I have Metro: Exodus and now I have the full set in one place.

Hard to get excited about playing this at home or on the GO. On PC or console.

@WiltonRoots Stop buying overprice 5 year old ports on Switch and you can afford anything in no time.

And you get to play Metro Exodus for $5 on top of that.

@BlackenedHalo No,... just that Steam would not try selling these games for $50 - when everyone else in 2019 (including consoles) has it dirt cheap or even gives them away for FREE.

Slapping "Nintendo Switch" on the cover, does not change that either.

Yeah... you "rarely buy" these types of games. And by some miracle the ones you do care for - are the few on Switch. And you only realize you care to play them 4 or 9 years after release.

One of the best games I have ever played, completed Both multiple times on PC and xbox, but will be Day1 purchase on Switch too.

@Agramonte I don't know if you misunderstood, but what I meant is for me to play this old game for free on PC like you suggested, I would need to buy a PC. And a desk. And a chair. And a monitor. And a keyboard. And a mouse. It's bit of an inconvenience in all honesty just for this game. Even free games come with a catch.

I have a PC in our livingroom connected to my TV. I never play single player story driven games on K/M or at my desk.

Regardless, if you play these 2. You should find a way to play EXODUS. Just knowing what happens to Artyom and Anna by the end of the Trilogy is 100% worth it.

@Diogmites you do know this game came out on the ps3 and obviously will not be based on the pc or ps4 remastered version? Switch is more powerful thsn ps3 so i have no idea why your saying that.

My guess is that only Metro 2033 is on the cart. No way is Deep Silver going to pay to get both games onto one cart. These are the same scumbags that betray Shenmue 3 PC Steam backers.

Don't forget the loads of games on it that the other consoles don't ever get to see like Astral Chain, Bayonetta 3, Fire Emblem & one of if not the highest rated & acclaimed games of the generation in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild among others. @gameboy1975 you left out a lot of the story if you wanna go down that road. Namingly a ton of the best ps4 exclusives and triple AAA titles that other consoles have. Every console has their exclusives that are very high rated. (Horizon zero dawn,God of War, persona etc) ..as far as triple AAA nonexclusive titles ,with switch you get 10% of them and years down the road ..what the other consoles don’t have is higher priced ports that the switch has. On switch You get them much later on, and pay the same price that would have if you bought it years ago, and also a stripped down version. Oh but you can play it in handheld so that makes up for all of it not!
