I only play a few games at a time, due to a few factors such as work & household responsibilities. Being both autistic & adhd means I can get obsessed and look to 100% a game or get bored quickly and fall off. I also tend to primarily play solo, I've no interest in multiplayer aside from games like Splatoon 3 and even then only sparingly.
Turn based rpgs and strategy games tend to be my forte as I can actually think about what sort of outcome I want. Not to mention I do have a list of games I'll go back to replay every so often.
This week continues with Trails of Cold Steel IV. It's still fun overall but it is becoming increasingly grindy to keep all the characters on par for quests and trial chests.
Final Fantasy Theatrhythm Final Bar Line turned out to be quite a bit of fun. I've been playing on the simple style which just requires button presses. Usually I'm terrible at rhythm games so getting high scores and SSS ranks on some of the songs is a welcome surprise.
If we're talking 2D I'd have to say Super Mario Bros 3./Super Mario World. I cannot pick one over the other. As for 3D I'd have to go with Galaxy. It's one of the few games I've ever really enjoyed motion controls.
Oh I'm certain this will work out well given Warner Bros. stock price is tanking. I just wonder how many more people will lose their jobs due to such short sighted plans.
Granted it is retro as loath as I am to admit it. I certainly do not need yet another reminder of the passage of time as gray hairs do that well enough.
I've played some of the opening area then dropped it, I'll eventually circle back around to it. I just haven't been of a mind to play a pokemon game in a long time.
I'd love to see Metroid Prime 2 & 3 get the same treatment the Metroid Prime remaster got. Admittedly it would be nice to finally see Mother 3 get offically released in the west though that remains unlikely. I'm still surprised they haven't got release switch ports of Twilight Princess & Wind Waker despite the demand for them.
I'll be continuing with my play-through on hard for SD Gundam Battle Alliance. I've managed to get to directory 5a, so not too far off from finishing it up and getting the ex missions unlocked.
As for Trails of Cold Steel IV, I've gotten part way into the second part of act 1. The story is picking up which is nice though I'm coming to hate the card game vantage masters. Apparently Elliot cheats, seriously he uses seal every turn.
This week I'll be continuing my playthrough of SD Gundam Battle Alliance on normal difficulty. I've just got a few missions before hard difficulty is unlocked and from there the ex missions.
I also plan to continue with Trails of Cold Steel IV, only on chapter one currently but quite a few moving parts to keep track of.
I'm hoping they'll put more focus on smaller titles and actually market them properly. I'd love to see another Bravely Default title that's on consoles rather than mobile for instance.
I've finally beaten Cold Steel III. I'll be taking a short break with Gundam Alliance before starting up Cold Steel IV. It's a great game but over one hundred hours requires a step back.
I understand subscriptions will eventually become the norm as it has with movies & tv Ala Netflix. This just screams arrogance and terrible messaging. So much of this mindset reminds me of Square's constant ai pushing.
Yes it may well be the future but not without regulations in place to protect the customer and certainly not without some sense of ownership for those like me who actually want to own their media. If push comes to shove I'm simply not "buying" new games anymore.
My most played game this year was Xenoblade Chronicles 3 at 270 hours which includes the Future Redeemed DLC. I do intend to return to it via new game + to finish a few things like getting max level in all jobs.
For this week it'll be wave 6 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe followed by going back to River City Girls 2. I'm rather enjoying it, which is a step up from Sonic Superstars. The level design is good, however the bosses are a right pain. Especially the egg fortress boss, for the life of me I cannot beat him.
Either way this will be my last free weekend until January due to mandatory over time at work. Hope you all have a lovely rest of the year, see you in January.
This week will consist of Sonic Superstars followed by River City Girls 2. I'm actually enjoying Superstars more then I initially thought I would, save for the special stages. It's honestly difficult to orient myself to the control scheme to get the emeralds.
I'll be playing Splatoon 3 for the Halloween splatfest. It's amazing all the details they put in this time around, definitely a step up from 2. Afterward I'll be returning to Wonder, quite fun but difficult to get 100%.
I'll be continuing with Record of Lodoss War-Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth- this week. Had an it for a metroidvania that was more focused on magic. I've no idea what's going on with the story as it's been the better part of three decades since I watched the show and never read any of the light novels. The magic system however is fun, combat is quick and snappy and overall rather enjoyable.
I'll be going back to Trails of Cold Steel III. Had a rough week so some comfort food rpg will be a welcome change of pace. I plan on starting up Luigi's Mansion 3 after finishing up the first chapter of Cold Steel III.
@LeJuiceCup The list goes on. I swear this was such a bone headed move, it's a wonder these guys still have a job and why anyone would think of using unity unless they're contractually bound.
I take it the board finally listened to the legal team when the threats of lawsuits started coming in and how dismal their chances would be of making through the litigation.
Since I finished Trails to Azure, I plan to start on Trails to Cold Steel III after finishing with the video summaries for I & II. Might play Splatoon 3 as well.
I'll be continuing with Trails to Azure, made it to the final chapter. There were a number of twists that actually surprised me. Past that I'll be playing Shredder's Revenge: Dimension Shellshock, the survival mode is kicking my butt though it is a fun challenge.
It'll be a mix of continuing with Trails to Azure & Shredder's Revenge. I'd like to finish getting everyone to level ten in story mode for Shredder's Revenge before the dlc drops. I may start up Gundam Battle Alliance again since I finally got Nu Gundam unlocked.
There are several consoles and games I've had to sell off/donate due to various circumstances including moving to another state. Some of which include the golden Majora's Mask cartridge, would've been lovely to keep it. Ports, remasters & emulation have softened the sting at least. I'm just glad I'm able to still play them even if I can't have the physical media in my collection.
This weekend will consist of Splatoon 3 for the splatfest, go team love. Afterward I'll be returning to Trails to Azure and listen to Tio spread the holy word of Mishy.
I've tried playing a few times over the years, including through the Collection of Mana. There's a lot that's done right, from the wonderful art style and ost. However I just could not get into it. I've found it's the sort of game I'll glady watch someone play rather than do so myself.
I have a few book cases for my collection which includes shows on DVD/Blu ray and movies. Most of my collection I had to donate or put into storage once I moved a few years ago. I'm hoping to eventually procure more book cases for storage but that's a ways off and possibly another move before that happens.
I'll be playing TMNT: Shredder's Revenge this weekend. I've had the theme song from the '87 cartoon stuck in my head for at least a week, especially with the new movie trailer continually playing on tv.
I've been playing through a few games recently. I finally finished XC3: Future Redeemed, I'll eventually come back to 100% it. Just have the super bosses to beat and weapon upgrades to get.
Streets of Rage 4 is fun, though the lack of dash with most characters is a bit jarring. Looking forward to playing TMNT: The Arcade game and Turtles in Time via the Cowabunga collection.
I do plan to get around To TOTK eventually, I'm honestly burnt out on open worlds at the moment. I may give Fire Emblem: S.O.V. or Triangle Strategy a go afterward.
I have to go with the all stars version of these games. I think the art style is a welcome improvement and the music sounds better. Overall they remain the version I'll come back to time and again.
My favorite side quests are from Chrono Trigger, specifically Frog's and Lucca's. Frog's in particular requires a fair bit of work, traveling to different time periods and eventually getting the masamune powered up. The ending scene with his friend, the previous wielder of the masamune is a tear jerker. It wasn't the amount of side quests in games like Chrono Trigger stayed in people's minds but the quality. There were great rewards for completing them and provided additional world lore and characterization. Majora's mask also comes to mind with how well done the side quests were handled.
I've finally beaten the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and currently working on the post game quests before moving onto Future Redeemed. I've gotta say, Monolith has really improved their story telling with this entry. Hopefully Future Redeemed won't have the same issue with side quests that Torna did.

Re: Talking Point: The Switch 2 Pre-Order Situation Sucks, But Can Nintendo Do Anything About It?
I'll look to get a hold of one in a few months. I'd rather wait and ensure I can actually buy one without issue.
