Re: Creators Of New Switch Emulator 'Suyu' Hope To Avoid Nintendo's Wrath

MrCookieCrisps

In the words of the late Norm Macdonald: “Now this might strike some viewers as harsh, but I believe everyone involved in this story should die.”

From Gamesradar: [F]ollow the suit, Yuzu also expressed a strong anti-piracy stance, and said that it had "always been against piracy"

Cut to one of the leads having a folder full of ROMS for other developers for ‘testing’

And from Nintendo: “The copyrights of games are valid even if the games are not found on store shelves [or available digitally for purchase,] and using, copying and/or distributing those games is a copyright infringement.”

Oh, you like this game that’s now only resold for hundreds of dollars? PAY THE SCALPERS.

Re: Talking Point: If 'Switch 2' Isn't Coming Until 2025, What's Nintendo Got Up Its Sleeve This Year?

MrCookieCrisps

If most if not all nonrecurrent developers are working on EOL Switch games, the line up should be fine.

  • Arika’s last games were non-Nintendo published exclusives Pac Man 99 and Chocobo GP
  • Atlus with a new Nintendo exclusive (maybe another SMT spin off or sequel)
  • Bandai Namco has its own Switch studio with a new Taiko game being it’s last - maybe a Pokken Tournament sequel is in the cards?
  • I’d cry if Camelot is working on a baseball game
  • Genius Sorority has only made that Pokemon Cafe game
  • Good Feel finished up their personal project; either a Poochie and Yoshi-like remaster or an outright new Yoshi game would seem right
  • MercurySteam themselves could be porting Samus Returns (or a Super Metroid remake would be grand)
  • Monolith Soft could also be porting Xenoblade Chronicles X or they might already be working on a Xenoblade for the next console
  • Haven’t heard anything from NDcube, which is surprising since Superstars sold well (but not as much as Super Mario Party) and Clubhouse Games seemed like an unexpected success
  • Omega Force could be working on a new Nintendo musou series or just a sequel to Hyrule or Fire Emblem Warriors (with the deep cut that was Famicom Detective Club, maybe a total The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls remake?)
  • Sakurai might be outright remaking Kid Icarus Uprising (as I swear I heard he wants to slow down, but not outright retire) If the stars did align, I would be shocked to see a sequel
  • We also don’t know who’s developing the Princess Peach and Luigi Mansion 2 HD games; LM is probably in-house with Next Level Games or that could be Grezzo’s next project

Re: Fortnite's Dev Really Wants A Crossover With Nintendo But Hasn't Had Any Luck

MrCookieCrisps

@epicgamner Nintendo has a ‘squeaky clean’ reputation to live up to. Ubisoft explains that the ‘guns’ in the Mario and Rabbids games are toys and/or they’re make believe in a fantasy world. Nintendo doesn’t want any of their characters, even darker characters like Bayonetta or Samus, to be shooting the younger under 18 playable character (even if it’s in a fantasy setting.)

Going to sound like a boomer and that I’m ‘defending’ Nintendo, but I’m glad I don’t see Samus or Mario running around in Fortnite. It’s now more like “Oh, they’re in Fortnite now.” Unlike the Smash reveals, I just don’t care when some ‘special’ character shows up. Like Peter Griffin? Family Guy hasn’t been popular in years. Is Homer Simpson next?

Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Batman: Arkham Trilogy

MrCookieCrisps

“Digital Foundry's analysis finds that both titles mostly match the 2016 rerelease in terms of visual features”

They actually said otherwise; it’s based on the Unreal Engine 3 originals, not Unreal Engine 4’s Return to Arkham - sad as I prefer the UE3 versions, but UE3 isn’t natively supported, which may explain some of the issues. Outlast and Rocket League were great cases though.

Re: Feature: "We Wouldn’t Give The Silent Hill IP To A Team Like Yours" - Dementium: The Ward's Origins And Switch Return

MrCookieCrisps

In Konami’s defense, Jools was a fresh face going by his company with Dementium being their first game - they had nothing but a tech demo to show. Sure, he was at Iguana Entertainment for years, but I don’t think he was ever a director for any of their games.

Didn’t Renegade Kid also start as a ~5 man team? Do you really think Konami would want a new indie studio make a Silent Hill game hot off Team Silent’s 4 games?
