@LimitedPower They wouldn't get to part 2, let alone part 3 to even try a different design on Shadow. It is stunning how much boost the first movie got by simply being faithful to the original design of the character.
I think they will just rerelease Smash Bros Ultimate for Switch successor, with couple more characters. I mean, what is there to add that can significantly change the formula? He is working on a new IP, and my bet is on something in a relax/puzzle genre that people will appreciate but ultimately won't play because it won't be based on an existing IP.
@babybilly That makes sense. However, if it is so common, why are there articles about it? There is like this artificial aura of mystery around the whole thing.
"there's not quite enough variety in what we've seen between each one beyond these colour and model swaps"
This is exactly what I was afraid of. Every footage released so far looked like changes between different islands would just be surface level.
Got this day one. Loved the original, beat it 100%, and judging by first few levels I went through, this is definitely couple of steps up from the first one. For those who like platforming genre, this is a must.
Now do the same analysis with Shovel Knight. I mean, of course they took a lot of inspiration from games that work well. It is not about the parts, it is about the whole.
They can't really be surprised by this. I am not saying the game is bad, I haven't played it, but considering what they released before, this new one was major departure from the franchise, which is not a bad thing, but expectations should be checked.
I bet there will be additional challenges or levels after you beat the main game. Kirby's games are super easy... unless you go for 100%. Super Mario games are on the easy side.... but good luck getting 100%. I bet same will apply here, but even if it doesn't, I have no problem with the game being easy. I need a breather after a session of Cuphead.
A friend of mine returned my GBA SP recently, and he gave me Fire Red as well. I turned the game on a minute ago, just to check if it works, turned it off, went to NintendoLife and I see this article. Coincidence?? Yes.
Ultimate is the best, but for me it has to be Brawl. The level of excitement for Brawl was off the charts and hasn't been replicated since, and it delivered
Good. I don't care what he did and if he did it, I am against adding likeness of youtubers (or famous people in general) in video games. It kills the immersion completely for me.
I liked it , didn't love it. Reason for that is probably because I played Mario & Luigi series before ever getting to play Super Mario RPG. Everything RPG introduced, M&L perfected.
@JR150 I never uderstood that logic. Not saying it is wrong, but I don't understand it. If there is potential that something will get leaked, then why create anything at all? Sooner or later, pre-release or post-release, things get online.
There are some great ideas in the game, but implementation was poorly done. It is servicable kart racer, but when compared to Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing, it feels worse than it actually is.
It is too bad for WarioWare. I love the franchise and I hope Nintendo won't come to conclusion that they should pass on another sequel. Just, maybe, ditch the motion controls next time. I miss the days of GBA simplicity, and I bet that would work better on Switch.
I don't understand the argument that it is a bad thing the game is Apple exclusive. That is like saying it is bad for Super Mario game to be exclusive to Switch.
1. Make an outragous decision that you are fully aware will get negative feedback 2. Receive that negative feedback 3. Apologize and make changes that compared to the original plan are acceptable, which was the actual plan from the very beginning 4. ??? 5. Profit
There was a ton of things that were spoiled for me from Mario Odyssey that I won't mention here in case someone hasn't played it yet. I'll just say there were jaw dropping moments that I wish I discovered myself.
"There's also some neat new traversal skills added to this one such as handstand jumps and backflips — parkour." Yeah, this was introduced way back in Donkey Kong 94, the game this one spun off from. They should have remade that one.
I am surprised to see so many comments deciding to skip on the game because it got a 7. 7 is great score. Me personally I would give it a 9. I loved Streets of Red and this one plays similarly. The rouge-like elements that are mentioned, I wouldn't even call that rouge-like. 4 stages, and each one gets longer, but you get to choose the order. All in all, I loved the game, and hope to see a Battletoad down the line as a DLC.

Re: Rumour: One Of Kirby's 3DS Titles Will Return Next Year, It's Claimed
I've been thinking about this recently and it makes sense.
Robobot is a great Kirby title, however, I would prefer Epic Yarn.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For LEGO Horizon Adventures
So it is just another LEGO game. Didn't they change the formula significantly with the latest LEGO Star Wars? Why go back to the old formula?
Re: Mini Review: Vampire Survivors: Ode To Castlevania (Switch) - Divine DLC Is Absolutely Essential
I got the game recently and it wasn't my cup of tea. The Castlevania coating doesn't really entice me to give it another shot.
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms He's Working On A New Game

There is like this artificial aura of mystery around the whole thing.
Re: Mario & Luigi: Brothership Developer Has Supposedly Been Revealed
They are keeping this a secret like Marvel keeps after-credits scene a secret.
What was the point of this?

@WaffleRaptor01 Oof... what a bad take
Re: Mini Review: Jackbox Naughty Pack (Switch) - NSFW But Too Safe For Jackbox
I expected more from this when it was announced.

Not surprised. All their games I played I liked. Tried the demo, and it was very charming.
Re: New SteamWorld Game Sales Fell "Slightly Short" Of Thunderful's Expectations
They can't really be surprised by this. I am not saying the game is bad, I haven't played it, but considering what they released before, this new one was major departure from the franchise, which is not a bad thing, but expectations should be checked.

Re: Best Donkey Kong Games Of All Time
King of Swing is criminally underrated. It is in my top 10 GBA games, easy.
Re: Rumour: Switch Successor Might Not Be Launching Until 2025
They can delay it to 2026.
I have tons of games waiting to be finished. No rush with Switch 2.

Reason for that is probably because I played Mario & Luigi series before ever getting to play Super Mario RPG.
