@LunarFlame17 While Gods and Monsters does sound generic, based on what I read from the review, that title explains better what the game is about. Immortals Fenyx Rising, to me at least, sounds like something I wouldn't even bother to see screenshots of it. Yes, it is judging the book by it's cover, but considering how many games are out there, it has to grab you from the very first glance at the cover art or title. Plus, it does feel like a title for the a sequel of the movie Immortals xD I guess what I'm trying to say, Gods and Monsters is lesser of two evils, but none of those titles are particularly interesting.
Wii U will always be my console of choice when it comes to local multiplayer. The asymmetric play it brought with the gamepad is a blast. Nintendo Land and Game & Wario are easily most played in my household.
@DeclanS98 "I don’t think either platforms were designed to uphold people’s livelihoods and jobs." I agree with this statement. Putting all eggs in a basket that is not yours guarantees the basket will be taken from you sooner or later. However, whether we like it or not, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube are giants in the field, and for all their faults, it is true that they are platforms that help companies and individuals reach their fan base easier and on a regular basis. Unfortunately, dealing with platforms that have a dicey history when it comes to bans and monetization (ahem, Youtube), is a risk that everyone being a member on the platform has to accept.
With all that said, I'm sure this was just a mistake on Twitter's part.
The first one lacks some good design when it comes to enemies and stages, although the controls are flawless. The second one improved on everything and fans of AVGN and his other properties will get the most out of it. I would recommend getting this one.
To everyone saying it is a cash grab, keep in mind, with this kind of re-releases people who weren't even born when originals were released, they now have a chance to play it.
Already bought it. If you missed on the titles on their original console, this is a no brainer. So far I only tried Mario 64 and it is a great nostalgia trip. I would highly recommend it.
Played in on PC back when it released as a Humble Bundle Original. It is, by far, one of the best games I've played. Relaxing, filled with content and exploration, and perfect length. Happy to see it getting Switch release.
I believe that Paper Mario series would benefit from leaving the old RPG battle system behind. It would make it more approachable to the wider audience. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Super Paper Mario for Wii is the best selling Paper title. Of course, there are a ton of other factors to consider when making this statement, but the fact still stands it outsold other Paper titles.
The only minus here are the looks of the main characters. Generic to say the least, and considering this is a platformer/collectathon, that is quite an important aspect. Other than that, I am getting this day one
@nintendoknife There is nothing to compare it to, except the Wii version, and it is far superior than that, so by that comparison, it doesn't seem blurry. My guess.
@rockodoodle That is a good point when it comes to remakes and remasters. To good portion of gamers it will be a new experience. For me, I never played Sunshine, so if the rumors are true, I am looking forward to playing that one
@Kalmaro Hopefully not. Nothing against Color Splash, but Paper Mario is a series that is not afraid to experiment, so hopefully they will make it significantly different than the last installment.
@cptspaulding I believe the first one is free online and on mobile, and seems to be similar tot he sequel gameplay-wise. GIve it a shot, it might change your mind That said... yeah, it does look kinda needless overcomplication of a simple formula the first one was. Time will tell.
As good as this looks, it is still a beat em up, and I find those really repetitive. It gets old pretty fast. That said, I did enjoy Streets of Red (and I just now realized it was a pun on Streets of Rage), and I really liked Wonder Boy from DotEmu, so hope this one is as good as the review says.
It is a tricky situation. On one hand I love to see more games like Cuphead and I am definitely getting Enchanted Portals once it gets released. On the other hand I totally get the people that are saying this is a rip-off of Cuphead.
True, Cuphead doesn't own the style of 30's cartoons, but, if I'm not mistaken, it is the first one to utilize such style in a video game, at least to that degree. So when something similar comes out, absolutely it will be compared to the original.
But the problem here is not really the art style but the gameplay. It has more than a passing resemblance to the Cuphead. While it is true there are plenty Metroidvanias out there and nobody seems to complain it copies original Metroid, a good portion of them give a unique spin to the formula.
Unfortunately, Enchanted Portals, as good as it looks (and hopefully plays) is copying a lot from Cuphead in both visuals and gameplay. It lost it's identity because of it and will always be compared to Cuphead.
But, as I said at the beginning, I will play it and hopefully enjoy it.
I am surprised by such negativity in the comment section. To each his own, but I absolutely love this. It looks like a perfect blend of video games and Lego.
Am I the only one who still haven't got Pirahna Plant? I bought and registered game on day one. Heard I'm supposed to get an e-mail with download code for Plant, but nothing so far.
I think the criteria for being included in Smash Bros. is that the character has to originate from video games, not other types of media. Not saying that couldn't change, but having Goku in Smash would feel kinda weird.
First reaction - "Seriously?" Part with the robot plays on the screen - "Well, damn, this has potential!" Hope the cardboard parts won't make the game more expensive.

Re: Random: Switch Owners Are Discovering Just How Frustrating Super Mario Sunshine Can Be
I find Mario 64 extremely frustrating at times as well.
95 stars in and I wrestled more with the controls than any enemy on screen.
