Update 2:
Nintendo of America has confirmed that there'll be a special edition for the game in the region, but isn't announcing details yet:
Update:
Nintendo of Europe has now tweet an image of the Wii U bundle and special editions coming to the region for Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Original Article:
Take a deep breath, Monolith Soft fans, as today has exciting news in Europe. Following up on previous news that Xenoblade Chronicles X will be playable at Gamescom in Germany, now more exciting news has been revealed.
First of all, it's been confirmed that there'll be a Wii U hardware bundle and special edition in Europe; these are detailed below.
- Xenoblade Chronicles X Wii U Premium Pack: features a black premium Wii U console, a physical copy of the game, an Artbook and a World Map poster
- Xenoblade Chronicles X Limited Edition Pack: features a physical copy of the game, a SteelBook™ cover, a World Map poster, a Cover Art Poster and the Artbook
No images have been given yet, though it'll likely be similar to the Japanese equivalent (below), albeit without the eShop card.
In addition the original Wii title, Xenoblade Chronicles, is available on the eShop right now in Europe. If you pick it up for the usual Wii download price of €19.99 / £17.99, you're eligible to receive €10 / £9 off the eShop version of Xenoblade Chronicles X when it launches in December, too.
As a final treat there's going to be a live stream of the Wii U title on 8th August at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK / 4pm CET on Twitch.tv/twitch, which we'll cover here on Nintendo Life.
So, which of these Xenoblade downloads or special editions are you planning to pick up?

Anyone that has struggled to find a copy of the original should pick that up immediately.
Awesome! I love me a limited edition!
I purchased Xenoblade Chronicles physically a few days ago and this digital version will clearly have Gamepad support.
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG THe original xenoblade out now????? YESSSS PRAISE LORD ARCEUS.
@Grumblevolcano
You could just return it no? its an absolutely fantastic game, so I wouldn't worry about any potential gamepad support you would get with the eshop edition anyways. And that reverse cover art is pretty sweet too. =)
Will get the download Wii and Wii U version. Thanks Nintendo.
Awesome! I'll get the game and art book thingy.
Really hope the US gets it in the eShop soon. Would love to play it because I'm very interesting in Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Yes! Getting the original today; if there's Gamepad support that would be extra super cool.
I'm still hoping third parties will jump on the bandwagon with downloads as both Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Samurai Warriors 3 would have that Gamepad support too.
Yeo!
If you never played the original then please, please, please, PLEASE do
@Sean_Aaron You wont see Tatsunoko Vs Capcom ever again. The game may not be printed or otherwise released anymore.
And going by the eShop description, everything but the gamepad is optional. So if im not mistaken, it can be played solely with the gamepad
I'll probably get the limited edition. Depends on the pricing though..
Might get the special edition if it is priced alright.
By the way, what is "Solus Software" ?
@Pahvi Youre really missing out here But i perfectly understand it.
@Aqhu No, I bought it on Ebay (it was a decent price so I got it). At least it's physical and I get Club Nintendo Stars for it I guess.
@Einherjar The game by itself.
Wow! I just finished telling someone on Miiverse the other day that this wouldn't happen, because they needed Xenoblade Chronicles 3D to push the New 3DS. I'm genuinely surprised!
Now thats a scoop, think im gonna have to buy this.
By the way, did they announce a date for this yet? I know the US E3 Direct said it was December 4th, but the European stream just said December. I've been half expecting it to get a small delay like Captain Toad did last year. I'll feel a lot better once they give us a day.
If the special edition is available in canada I'll probably buy it, as long as the price is reasonable.
glares at NOA XC better be on the vc this week!
ocarina of time 3d on 3ds, then 64 released on wii u vc.
xenoblade chronicles ported to 3ds rather than wii vc,
xenoblade chronicles released on wii vc
i officially give up trying to predict the VC games. they dont seem to have any rhyme or reason, and nintendo doesnt seem to mind having the games on both platforms.
also im so dam excited for X. i really gotta finish the first one. so good just so long
I've not played XC for a while and would love to visit it's vast world again but I think I'll just wait for XCX.The Gamepad support is tempting but I've got too much of a backlog to get through and with Splatoon there teasing me to play it all the time it's not easy.XCX will likely cost £49.99 on the Eshop so even with this discount it's still £10 more than I can get an Eshop code from Gamesrocket.
@Einherjar you might be correct if they've let the licensing agreement lapse then it's unlikely they'd renew it just for some modest cash for the download version. In a perfect world it would happen though. I believe the Gamepad is supported in games that are Classic Controller compatible, so Xenoblade should definitely support it.
...Still no exact releasedate though... still no exact releasedate...
If you even slightly enjoy JRPGs and you never played this game on Wii, get it NOW! it is amazing and the swan's song of Wii..... every gamer should try this game in his life
Ooo yeah xenoblade on my gamepad thanks nintendo:)
still finished off the first one lol. think ti will be 100 hours by finishing! would rather have the new one on disc, like the first one.
Xenoblade Chronicles for £18! That's an absolute snip! Heard of people who've spent upwards of $80-100 on this game when it was impossible to find and they still had no regrets after playing through it fully. Best game on the Wii by a long shot, and with this, Galaxy 2, the Prime Trilogy, DKCR and Punch-out!! that's a great selection of Wii games if you missed out on them originally.
Should I get the Wii version of XC or the New 3DS version? Need some advice on this. I plan to get a New 3DS in the future, maybe Christmas.
Hmm, when I get money I think I'll buy the original and pre-order the limited edition sequel.
@Peace-Boy Wii, that version is better quality but also has the advantage over the physical Wii version by being playable with the Gamepad. The New 3DS is still worth having if you ignore the Xenoblade Chronicles port because of games such as Smash and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate running much smoother in addition to not resetting to console every time you quit the game.
I might get the special edition, but it depends on what the price is going to be?
@Sean_Aaron Well, the sad thing is, the same thing happened to their Marvel Vs. series. They handled the contracts in such a way that sould they run out, they loose the complete right about their own product.
They may not reprint it, they may not distribute it any further (Marvel Vs. Capcom had to be pulled from stores) and if i remember correctly, they might not even advertise it any longer.
Licensing problems are everywhere these days, thats not uncommon. But in mist cases, should the contract run out, it only means that they may not use licensed characters for more projects in the futire.
Think of it, if the makers of Zen Pinball lose their Marvel License, the whole game goes kaputt.
Great to see that Nintendo is back with this limited edition stuff – already made me buy Pandora's Tower and The Last Story on day one back in the Wii days.
Hoping NOA has something like this.
Also, bring the original Xeno to the USA eshop so I can buy it right away instead for waiting weeks to download it unreliably.
Awesome! I was fearing we wouldn't get a limited edition at all, so this is obviously getting ordered right away!
However, I'm very surprised that Nintendo actually decided to release Xenoblade on WiiU VC after all. I didn't think that'd ever happen, considering the N3DS release.
Oh my god... Got Xenoblade on Wii 12 months ago for £39 new. Not a bad deal but I guess i could've waited. Already completed it too.
But i'm glad that more people can play it now for a great price, THE WAY IT WAS MEANT TO BE PLAYED (NOT on 3DS)
Getiing the limited edition Xenoblade 2!
Nice, don't need the game from the eShop as I'm enjoying it on 3DS, but good that they put that on as another alternative. Like that Monolith have been doing a big marketing push for X
After sinking 130hrs into the New 3DS version (and being close to the end) ... I'm tempted, but will probably skip. Just won't have time to play through this again. But the WiiU version is a total lock.
@Grumblevolcano Great, thanks. I plan to get a New 3DS anyway since my old 3DS is kinda broken.
Ooh, send the limited edition my way across the pond too, please!
Can't wait until I can afford XC Wii Already got it on New 3DS but definitely want that $13 discount on a download of XCX... But that limited edition XCX looks so tempting to buy in store... I hope we get it here in Australia.
@Einherjar I'd hope Tatsunoko would be easier to deal with than Disney, but again, I don't think it would be worthwhile given the install base of the Wii U.
I wouldn't give up hope on Marvel, though I agree it would cost. Disney aren't too tough to deal with by all accounts, they just need to know there's going to be sufficient volume to make it worth their time. Capcom got the license to remake Ducktales; Zen would just have to demonstrate their software has a decent volume of sales and I can't imagine they'd have a problem with that. The cost is another factor, but I won't pretend to know what Disney wants to use their IP.
Can someone please confirm that you can play the original on the gamepad, using ONLY the gamepad.
@Arthedain I've just downloaded it so I'll have a look in a minute and report back.
Thanks! @Sean_Aaron
@Arthedain Just fired it up and the first thing it asks is if you want to use the Gamepad, noting that you cannot change controller choice once started if you say "yes," then you're asked if you want to play on Gamepad only so I never bothered turning on the TV. And before anyone else asks, yes it picked up my save from the disc version as well. If you press home to go back to the Wii menu, it just takes you back to the Wii U login screen, so you're covered there too if you want to switch to another game on the Gamepad.
Perfect. I was going to buy the Wii game today (70 EUR) since I finally want to play it. Now I can save a lot of money
I'm REALLY hoping that all this comes to NA. I absolutly NEED that special bundle! And I will buy xenoblade on the eshop when it comes over here dispite that i already own 3 physical copys!
Oh man... Operation e-Shop Rainfall coming to the U.S. anytime now.
I hope this is on us eshop soon. I had to trade my copy. And I didn't want to start over on the 3ds. Now I can use my Wii save data to play the new game plus I got.
I wonder if it's even possible for Xenoblade Chronicles to be release on the NA eshop given the Gamestop exclusivity contract.
@Sean_Aaron Thanks again, mate! Didn't know you could play Wii eshop games using the buttons on the gamepad (I only knew you could use it instead of the tv). That's awesome and might justify a buy for me since the mrs keeps hogging the tv
Okay, Nintendo of America. Your turn. I want AT LEAST the Xenoblade Chronicles e-Shop release.
Nintendo, I love your little surprises. I'll probably pass on downloading the Wii game (even though the game pad controls would be neat) — but I'm gonna pop the disc in later. Suddenly hyped about X.
I hope the special edition comes to NA. And YES! I can't wait for Xenoblade Chronicles on the E-Shop. Take that E-Bay Skalpers!
LOL at all the people who argued that an eShop version of XC would NOT happen because of the New 3DS version. That's what you get for trying to assume things and predict what Nintendo can/will do.
I want that LE in NA. Wii game is nice but not essential to me.
OMFG I DONT HAVE TO PLAY ON MY TINY 3DS?!! YASSS
@Grumblevolcano How?
I'm only 20 or so hours into the N3DS version, so absent some kind of MH3U-style save file transfer I don't think I'll be picking up the VC XBC if/when it comes across the pond. That's too bad, because given the option, I probably would have bought the VC version. Oh well. The ability to play it in snippets here and there is still nice. And the 3D is cool.
And man, I just don't know where I'm going to find time to get through the Wii U version. I don't even know if I'll finish the N3DS version before the XBCX comes out. I suspect I'll be jumping in later than everyone else and will miss out on any limited or special editions. For me, it's all about the game anyway, so unless there's bundled content or some such, it's no big loss.
Odd that they didn't do a special edition Gamepad like they did for Wind Waker HD. Have they done any other special edition gamepads besides that one? They release special edition 3DSs all the time, so I wonder why so few Gamepads.
sweet I hope NA gets the collectors edition as well.
"is available on the eShop right now in Europe."
the moment I saw the headline, I knew it was only for Europe. Well, good thing I have the disc and hopefully tomorrow, they'll deliver it to NA as well because it is a great game and it is stupidly expensive for people to get a physical copy.
@earthboundlink Simple, Nintendo hasn't sold all their Wii U launch stock yet. All these special editions for the 3DS family is due to those consoles selling very well.
profound sadness...please bring LE to the US....
profound sadness...please bring LE to the US....
@Arthedain That only applies to games that support Classic Controller play, so with something like Super Mario Galaxy 2 your Gamepad acts like like a little TV with a built-in sensor bar (either side of the Gamepad camera are two IR sources, so it's clear they intended off-TV Wii gameplay from the start) and you'll still need a remote+nunchuk
Enjoy my European amiibros!! Yet another awesome LE headed your way that probably wont end up in North America. That's Super Mario Maker, Fatal Frame and now Xenoblade. Make sure you grab those sweet editions. To all of us in North America, just remember that Nintendo hates us and Star Wars Battlefront is coming out in November for PS4 and XB1. At least I can get that LE =)
"There's" not "theirs" Tom!
Aww Dang it! now I have a choice, I was originally going to get this Digital like a lot of the Big releases, now I'm not sure. The discount for buying the first game Digital is a good one and the first game is actually worth the £17.99 if anyone hasn't picked it up.
I have the original on Disc so I don't really need a digital copy, but that was my intended route. Then they have a special edition which I'd be interested in getting. If I had the Money I'd buy the Original Digital, the New game Digital and the Special edition just to own it.
Bloomin norah Nintendo, perhaps they should have another option. Sold via Nintendo uk store they could have a download code for the game which comes bundled with the Art book, cover poster and world map? as a Digital deluxe edition. That would be my ideal at the moment.
I almost never buy bundles - LBP2 is the one exception for my kids birthday - but I need that map. Just finished the main story in XC after about 135 hours so I'll assume NA will get this tomorrow. I bought it for $50 used but sort of got it for $33 w/ a buy 2 get 1 free coupon w/ $45 Kirby Return to Dreamland (on VC last week for $20) and $30 Galaxy 2. I guess Galaxy will be on VC next week for $20.
So they announced a console bundle and game bundle but not the date? That is sooo Nintendo.
Wow. Now that is a blockbuster announcement. Please let that happen in NA too.
@Peach64 Since there's no Zelda Wii U his year and this will have a console bundle, I'm certain they'll bring it over here for December as along with Starfox, it's one of the big titles for the Wii U this year.
@rjejr Don't be silly, we all know NoA is more likely to release Xenoblade Chronicles on VC December 4th!
I'm not interested in XCX but that special edition is covered in hot sauce!
I'll definitely buy Xenoblade Chronicles since I played through a borrowed copy on my Wii U and I'm pretty sure it'll share the save. Only problem is I'm in NA...
Keeping my fingers crossed for a NA release, though I am not hopeful since the original release was through Gamestop.
Both will be purchased if they come to NA!
@Grumblevolcano we can hope its this week.
One of the best decisions of my life was pre-ordering XC at Gamestop. I got the swanky art book, too.
I'll be pissed if NA doesn't get the Special Edititio, it so hot. I'm really getting fed up with the treatment of North American Nintendo consumers.
Still kind bummed this didn't release for the summer, they first showed this game so long ago, I was always convinced at the very least we would get it by summer 2015, December is still so far away, and I'm on vacation, I got free time for this now, I just went and picked up yoshi's wolly world yesterday at full retail price, 'cause I want something to play on my Wii U, I will buy devils third that will do fine, but it launches at the very end of August,
i'll get the special edition! and xenoblade chronicle is available to download on wii u! now i must get it!
Awesome!!!!!!! Thats I nice bundle for the Hardcore(er) fans that might not have a Wii U. Xenoblade being on the eShop is HUGE! I have it on the New 3DS (muddy textures and all), not really my type of game...and yet....I've really enjoyed it. Still far from complete, I'll probably play it on my flight today...
I hope NA skips Xenoblade for now and surprises us with Radiant Dawn instead......who am I kidding we probably wont get either
Hope the special edition comes to North America!
I'm indifferent on it coming to NA since I've got XC3D, but I would like Radiant Dawn like some have said.
I hope the original comes to the eshop too, but I worry it won't because of NA's deal with Gamestop.
@jenkje
I hope America gets the same deal. I wanna do that too.
Rather cool, but rather expected considering its Europe. In America, we're considered lucky to get the game AT ALL. Anyone hoping for that LE coming stateside should REEEEAAAALLLYYYY lower their expectations.
"Their's going to be a live stream"
No, Nintendo Life! You too have succumbed to the typo demons?
@PolarKoalaBear
Radiant Dawn would absolutely lovely, but since it's not casual enough and doesn't have enough waifus I doubt they'll waste server space hosting the download
So, do Wii VC games have miiverse support? I didn't see any communities, or i don't remember seeing any, and i am wondering.
I've never played a XC game before, but I will buy the Wii version on eshop if it comes to NA
@rayquaza_master I thought the same thing. Hopefully it will be on the NA eshop before long.
Gosh dang come on NoA, I'm sick of waiting for details. Where's our Xenoblade X and Fatal Frame LE's...
If the special edition doesn't come to NA....I'll be sad. But I don't really care about the eShop XC release since I already have the original physical copy and have beaten it three times. But I guess since it would make the game even more accessible for newcomers, then that would be good for others.
@Hero-of-WiiU I do feel ya, I hope we get the eshop version of the first one tomorrow. We still don't have Pandora tower and demon blade like others.
Just bought the New 3DS Xenoblade Chronicles bundle... guess it's a given that I buy this bundle as well! ^_^
I've the new 3DS version of Xenoblade Chronicles but I might pick up the Wii U eShop version as I'd much rather play it on my TV.
Crap my Wii sensor bar ripped,i better get a new one before this comes out to the west.
@TwilightAngel Why do you need a sensor bar for this game?
I'll settle for knowing the digital download will actually come to North America.... if it doesn't I'm going to be deeply unhappy. The price gouging on physical copies and/or the need to upgrade to a New 3DS to play it at standard retail price is pretty insane. At $20 I will be all over it to see if I want to jump on board with XBX, and know the backstory heading into it.
Everyone keeps going on about GamePad support for the Wii Xenoblade Chronicles. Is this confirmed?
Smart idea for releasing Xenoblade Chronicles to the Wii.
I KNEW NINTENDO WOULD LISTEN TO ALL MY POSTS ON YOUTUBE AND HERE REGARDING MAKING A WII U BUNDLE
....and silence from NoA
@gaming_24_7 Cause you need it to make the Wii remote click on the game in the Wii mode. And without i can't do a damn thing, or play any Wii games.
Hopefully the first one comes to VC in the U.S. Soon
Too bad the limited edition will likely be a Nintendo world store exclusive in the USA (if we even get one)
XC and XCX won't both fit on the same Wii U without some form of memory expansion, great forward thinking Nintendo. Wii U should have come with 150gb memory minimum!
@Yorumi And you can't get the discount unless they are on the same Wii U, oh dear!
Hoping (like many others) this is released in NA. Embarrassing amount of time invested in the wii version, but such a tremendous game and I know that I at least had never 100% completed it (getting every tree unlocked for every character for example).
I've been playing the original on Dolphin (I own the game physically on both Wii and New 3DS already but it's a lot more convenient on an emulator, especially since my PC and Wii U are connected to the same monitor), but I'll definitely buy it again for the third time if it comes to the North American eShop.
Speaking of Wii games on the NA eShop, what's up with that? The only game we got since the original launch was Kirby, and we got that much later than Europe did.
@TwilightAngel You can control the Wii pointer using the classic controller.
this is gonna be so hard to resist...im happy with just the game but...but...Damn...i want this
I hae normal version already paid and preordered but if the same store notifies there is this LE... no doubt I am getting it.
@Peace-Boy Xenoblade for Wii isthe better version. Playing it directly on the gamepad is killer.
Just finished XC yesterday. I'm really hoping the download comes to NA, everyone should have a chance to play this game.
C'mon The Last Story...
You know what? I would've preferred it if they included the original Xenoblade Chronicles in there like what they did with the Bayonetta 1&2 pack. Granted, Bayonetta 1 was on HD consoles, but I would still like a remake to XC.
@whodatninja Oh heck yeah! Let's get a Last Story remake/sequel!
If you screw this up NoA....
@rjejr Don't worry, Zelda Triforce Heroes got a date for both Europe and NA - October 23rd!
AWESOME!!! Hopefully soon this article will be updated to say ditto for North America. I already own BOTH the Wii and New 3DS versions of Xenoblade, but it's my all time favorite game so I wouldn't hesitate to download it TODAY.
As for the special editions...I regret not pre-ordering and getting the art on the Wii, but honestly I hadn't heard of the game so I didn't know any better I learned about it through listening to the back catalog of Radio Free Nintendo.
I'll also get the Xenoblade X game with the steel book and the posters.
@TheLastLugia I'm one of those people, I bought it for $80 and have no regrets. In fact I then bought the New 3DS version so that my son could play it and if this download version comes to NA today I'll buy that too.
Yay! I won't be able to complete this before XCX but will give it a better try than any of the other 30 games on it!
Wait, is there no special edition for North America?
As other have said, where are you at NoA?
@MyLegGuy: My guess is there will be. 100 copies at the Official Nintendo Store in NYC. On a weekday morning . . . . .
I really want the original to come to NA, since I don't want to buy a N3DS just to play it, and I want to try it before X. Sigh, come on NoA, what the hell has happened to you, Europe has overtaken us so much lately!
ugh...I just know NoA will release this...they have too!!! ;(
I really would love it on my Wii U...instead of paying $60+ for a hard copy
What about the origiginal on America?
Pretty hyped for this, not gonna lie. I didn't find Xenoblade Chronicles as good as most people seemed to, but from what I've seen from all the showcasing this game looks much better & larger.
Wii and Wii U digital copies please. SOLD!
Seriously...this is great news.
I know numerous people in NA want to have XBC release on the eShop for them to get, but I have my doubts it'll happen, mainly because of the exclusive deal with Gamestop. Might still happen, but I not real confident concerning it.
More than anything else, @Tsurii, I'm perplexed by having seen people say "RPG of the last generation" and "overhyped and bland" in equal measure. Good to know the story won't be deeply entwined, but I'll know if I'm up for the combat system and an idea of the world, which I'm far more worried about. Having some investment in the world will help as well, and I'm all for that. If I don't like XC, I expect XCX won't be my cup of tea either, and I'll be thrilled to find out for well under $70 (or a $60 risk on XCX, which if it paid off, would still mean I'd want to drop $70 on the Wii original).
Im a NA, but 20 bucks sounds really tempting.... however, im more about pretty games and XBC is borderline for me. Anyone else love good looking games and not sure? Honestly, games that play really well but just have spots that looks awkward really distract me, like when i watch a trailer of XBC, i cant stop staring at graphical "flaws" and I miss the main points.
What's the download size of the game?
Hmm, how much will XCX be on the eshop at launch? Would it be worth it to get the digital version? Hmmm.....
Confirmed for the US!
https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/629003322540851200
I am now a Wii U owner since I read this article
Well, I guess there will be no need to buy the 3DS Version of Xenoblade Chronicles now, I'll save myself $20 if this comes to the US .
@SepticLemon That would have been awesome. Maybe a possibility for NA? Fingers crossed.
FINALLY a way for me to get Xenoblade Chronicles at a decent price!! Bring it NA!!
Xenoblade chronicles!!!!! Actually manly tears of happiness right now!
Unrelated to the article, but in a recent interview with US Gamer, Tanabe has revealed that Retro Studios is the one responsible for the chibi-style designs of the mechs in Metroid Prime Federation Force. Yes, Retro Studios, the studio that Metroid fans hold so highly, is responsible for the designs that they hate so dearly.
I'm really feeling it!!!! yeah couldn't find a physical copy for a normal price and thought I could never play it!
This is a happy day
WOO HOO!!! I was getting tempted to buy a new 3ds to play the original but now glad it's on Wii u!
On another unrelated note, the Squid Girl gear for Splatoon is confirmed for the US, while the ESRB has rated Onimusha Tactics and Golden Sun The Lost Age, so they should be hitting the North American VC soon.
@IceClimbers Free salt for everyone
@Anneke It took 164 comments for someone to do this. Shame on the first 163 for not doing the obvious.
NOA please
NOA please
@rayquaza_master I'll fix that for you. "You won't see that happen in North America because it released on 3DS for another six months to a year."
I just hope that XC X gets a preloading option, cuz it is a big game.
@Discostew : That's true about Gamestop exclusivity. I wonder if there is any way to allow hard copy users the ability to use the game on the gamepad. Staying in topic though, no way I see anything like a steelbook or bundle being announced in the U.S. They have said Jack squat about the Super Mario Maker Amiibo bundle. Europe is their worst market and they're getting all the incentives? Man, NOA doesn't want me to purchase anything.
@Cyberbotv2 Actually NoA just confirmed a while ago, that a special edition is also being released in the U.S https://twitter.com/nintendoamerica/status/629003322540851200
@Aromaiden Not exactly, there have been times where special editions are different between regions.
@Grumblevolcano Oh, I see. It did say a "unique" special edition is coming. Thanks for the correction.
Nothing gets a Nintendo fan off more than the re-release of an old game!
Best start checking for pre-orders. I do love a good Special Edition..
@Ichiban To be fair, many video gamers love seeing the re-releases of good older games; it's not a reaction exclusive to Nintendo fans.
Looks great, I'll be picking up the limited edition. I've got the 3DS version of Chronicals, so there's no point getting the Wii version, but it's great to see.
Dat face!! She's beautiful!
@DarkmarkUnited
Riki getting hungry!
@Cyberbotv2 the physical copy is identical to the digital one and both work with the classic controller so both work with the gamepad
@andyg1971: wow, thanks! This is great news!
I'm gonna be livid if they make the US version a Nintendo World Store Exclusive
The NoA twitter page said the limited edition is coming to NA.
https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/629003322540851200/photo/1
What worries me is they said "an unique"... which means it is probably not this one and most likely crappier... even more so "an" should not be used with the word "unique"...
Hopefully Xenoblade Chronicles will come to the NA eshop, because I have no intentions of spending on a new 3DS. My original one is nice enough! And most likely I'll try to get the limited edition of XCX, but if there isn't enough supply I'll just stick to the normal edition. The wait until december is going to be a long one!
Took a while to buy XC 3DS but have enjoyed it so much so far however with the amazing looking landscapes, playing the Wii version would have been better to understand the true scale of the world. I am happy to stick to the 3DS version though the difference isn't too noticable my camera spinning would just go a lot smoother in areas XD
My GF can finally play it on the WiiU though which is great since the hype for X is string in us XD
@ikki5 This is why region locking sucks without it everyone could get the edition they wanted.
I thought "an unique" was right since u is a vowel.
@ikki5 Consider it karma for all the times Europe got screwed out of RPG's while NA got good stuff.
Too late, already got the original Xenoblade for the New 3DS. I would only get the wii version if somehow Nintendo was able to do some kind of 3ds-wii save transfer (That would be AMAZING; I'd give them all my money).
@FJOJR I played with Japanese sub's, I didn't even know English Shulk said that until Smash 4 came out.
Hmmm... NoA is tempting me to import Xenoblade Chronicles X LE from Europe and mod my Wii U to be region free. (That mod will probably be ready by this year's end.) I'll wait for more details on American LE... Your move, NoA.
@PlywoodStick And that is the attitude that makes humanity dumb.
@ikki5 Nah, it goes beyond that. There's a lot of other things that makes humanity the way it is, and in all honesty I think he was just messing around.
@MullacSenpai
It's just a weird quirk that an unique actually sounds worse (less correct) than just saying a unique... not sure if that's the explanation but I do know the latter is preferred linguistically.
I am about 90 hours into the n3ds port of xenoblade and I haven't been bored once it's a great game one of the best I have played in a while
@andyg1971 You sure about that? With the physical version you have to go into Wii mode which doesn't support the Gamepad, the digital version however goes straight into the game.
@MullacSenpai Phonetically the word "unique" doesn't start with a vowel, which is why "a" is the correct indefinite article. A counterexample would be "an umbrella". I just googled it, didn't know that before as well!
I am so glad to hear that we are getting a special edition in the US, I have over half of my regular edition paid off. I just need details on the special edition so that I can go pre-order it. Now, Nintendo, follow suit and give us Xenoblade Chronicles on Virtual Console NOW!!!!!
@Grumblevolcano Yes, but regardless the original is still going to cost a lot of money. I'd hold onto it.
@Grumblevolcano Nintendo still controls the publishing rights, it would be no different than Nintendo selling copies of Xenoblade Chronicles on its website, which was the only other way to get a physical outside of going to gamestop. Shouldn't be an issue.
@Nintendo_Ninja It's just gonna raise the price of a physical copy even more. They'll be rolling in the money from the collectors.
@SavoirFaire GS had a third party retail exclusivity agreement, not the publishing rights. Nintendo can do whatever it wants.
@iskim They wouldn't be that stupid. They already know how big of a deal this game is, restricting it to those of us who have the income to get to New York to grab it at the World Store would be a stupid decision.
Argh I JUST bought the Wii version of Xenoblade for £46...
@Grumblevolcano I have tried it with the physical version and it does not work with just the gamepad. The only versions that support gamepad only are the full retail VC releases of games that support the classic controller. In other words, if you want to play with gamepad controls, you need the get the Eshop version.
This looks bloomin' lovely on the gamepad screen! My only gripe is I seem to be having a fight with the camera getting it to go the horizontal direction I want it to go in! Other than that...awesome!
@JacketsNest101 Yeah you're right, I just tried it with Resi 4 Wii Edition and it doesn't work with just the Gamepad either
@Grumblevolcano Well it wasn't today, so Dec 4th actually sounds good even if you were joking. NA never announced any of this, did they? How does Reggie have a job?
@IceClimbers - I was honestly shocked to see that, I was so sure it was "Early 2016". Is Metroid Prime:FF early 2016? I may have confused the 2 games that nobody wanted. Doesn't seem like a system seller but it is Zelda, I'm sure some people will pick it up as we wait endlessly for Zelda U. Did Ntinedo hire Square Enix to make U?
If only Nintendo could detect the Wii save for a discount in the download.
All these limited edition games to pre order, My wallet, I don't know if she can take the strain.
@DarkEdi you could then just install the homebrew channel (fully legal btw) then import a fully legal save and cheat the system 100% legally.
Steelbook for Europe: Like in the Metroid Prime 3 steelbook?!
Lol, its probably just another cardboard sleeve!
