@RubyCarbuncle I'm curious what you and the other commenter mean by "grindy". Do you mean takes too long to complete? Do you mean it takes a lot of time to get certain items?
@ModdedInkling My brother and I played through both games and really enjoyed them, however I don't think the games are underrated — I think the genre is very niche and that translates into poor sales. XCOM Enemy Unknown for example won several GOTY awards, but never reached 1 million sales.
@Unit_DTH That makes sense. Using the Nintendo Web Framework allowed the game to work across Nintendo platforms. It is also theoretically possible (albeit less likely) the code could have been used for an app for a smart device too though.
@EL_DANIMAL Same. It would have been perfect for all those extra dark areas. I'm guessing they tried putting it in, but failed. I wish someone with knowledge could explain this big omission. How could the GameCube version have it, but not the Switch??
It should be noted that the GCN controllers' analog triggers don't work in the remaster like they did in the original. In the original, a slight depress of the L button locks Samus' aim and allows her to strafe and pressing it all the way in locked-in on an enemy. I haven't tested it myself, but now apparently it simultaneously locks in on an enemy and strafes with any input on the L button. I don't believe this can be fixed with a patch since this is a hardware issue, but I'm not certain. Anyone know for sure?
A good musical score is a core tenant of the Metroid franchise. We got it with Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime — 3 of the best Metroids in the franchise. Return to the roots of delivering a score that helps engross us further into the sci-fi world. Please don't overlook the music Retro.
If streaming technology was there, the Switch could theoretically play all games no matter what system they're on. Like it or not, it's the future. I hope they figure it out from a business and technological perspective for our sake.
As the Switch continues to age, the 3rd party ports remind me more and more of the ones that plagued the Wii, especially toward the end of its lifecycle. I hope Nintendo does not repeat the same mistakes it made then.
A lot of hype, but we know very little how strategic this game will be. Don't get too excited yet everyone. It could simply be a game of who has the best cards.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Talks 8-Inch 'Switch 2' Screen, Joy-Con Compatibility
The joycons seemed to always feel small anyway. Larger joycons and more comfortable grip design sounds appealing to me.

"Analysts" were wrong in the past:

Re: Rumour: 'Switch 2' Gamescom Demo Supposedly Had Zelda: BOTW Running At 4K 60FPS
@KBuckley27 Is there a difference? To my knowledge, you can't tell the difference, so it doesn't matter. Play smarter, not harder.
Re: Nintendo Reportedly Showed 'Switch 2' Demos To Developers At Gamescom
NVIDIA is ahead of the times. Great partnership. Imagine the ability to replay many of your Switch library games in 4k, 60fps because of DLSS.
Re: Reminder: Rayman Returns In Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope Final DLC
If I'm not mistaken, Rayman can't be played alongside any of the Mario universe characters, just the Rabbid characters. Wise decision by Nintendo.

Re: Random: Forget The Wii U, This Coder Got Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Running In A Web Browser
I wonder if this game was originally designed for smartphones. With the WiiU library so scarce as it was, maybe Nintendo later reconsidered.
