I paid less than that for my first Switch.

"Ditch the core gameplay to appeal to the masses" is certainly a take.

Maybe it's time to drop an A or two if they're getting too expensive to make.

This is playing out exactly like Fashion Dreamer - except that game has free online, doesn't look quite as soulless, coordinating outfits is more engaging than scanning things in disappointingly bland environments, and the multiplayer doesn't clash so hard with the general nature of the game.

I didn't think a game could feel less barebones than FD, but if it wasn't published by Nintendo themselves, I'd wonder if they accidentally shipped some early build instead of the full game.

Seems like even for what it is, it still lacks substance. Oh well, games drop in price here really fast (sometimes right after release) so I'm sure I'll be able to get it for a more appropriate price at some point.

Only when I can be sure the singleplayer content is a significant part of the game and not just an afterthought, and I'm not required to play multiplayer for anything. I'm not going to pay that much for another Fashion Dreamer situation (and that game even had free online).

I still can't tell what they want this game to be. Half of the marketing is calm, relaxing, almost meditative footage, the other half is shoving large groups of players and communication spam in your face at every opportunity while singleplayer features are mentioned in an offhand sentence on the website. These two things clash so hard I genuinely have no idea what to think about this.

Gotta take advantage of the joycons one last time before the next console has a new gimmick. Makes sense.

They either manage to beat it, or the one who made it will be the creator of the only unbeaten level on official servers. Both outcomes are pretty impressive.

Guess I'll stop collecting them then.

Small correction to the corrections: the gifts don't need an online check either, they just read the date you set on your Switch. I used to catch up on birthdays/releases I missed all the time after not playing for a while and it never cared about the real date.

I'm beginning to feel a little sorry for Japanese players, the art of those "which flavor of the thing do you prefer" Splatfests is so boring.

Guaranteed redownloads and unlimited free memory cards for the rest of my life and at least 50% off every price. Otherwise physical is much cheaper for me.

This looks like the exact type of game where I do NOT want other players around me.

The image of the Japanese one looks... less than ideal. Definitely not great to just copypaste the same thing three times. Surely there are better themes than a name preference.

Hopefully people can now shut up and stop sabotaging tricolor matches over their weird idol wars.

Some people also just enjoy making fanworks for things they like without treating it like a practice ground for original work.

That said, if the characters had outlines like everything aroubd them, it'd look way better.

Sounds like a game that truly shines when there's a moderate amount of alcohol involved.

I don't think the twenty or so physical copies they made are much of a contributing factor either way.

I get not mentioning specific systems or titles or removing outdated information in general,but did they have to remove all personality along with it?

I've been through that time when a lot of legally bought CDs couldn't be played on some devices because of DRM. We're not doing this again.

So that's why they skipped Robbie in the BOTW sets. Oh well, better late than never.

I prefer Ages first because it has more story bits between dungeons. Seasons can feel a little empty, but the added content in a linked game alleviates that. It just feels better balanced overall.

Plus, if you're a true completionist, playing both ways ends with a linked Ages playthrough and a complete Labrynna map, since there is one tile you cannot access unlinked.

No need to act like that. Nothing wrong with being upset about those prices, I think they suck too, but it does get a bit annoying. Particularly when every time Europe gets the crap end of the deal most of the time, but when we complain, it doesn't really matter or we get that "you're welcome to move here" nonsense like we attacked you personally somehow.

In Europe BOTW was always 69,99 € and TOTK looks like it will be too. No "mistakes" there, nothing new.

Man, I wish we had your US prices sometimes.

I still need to get the third collection, and finish a playthrough of Rhapsody for knce. Third time's the charm, hopefully.

Maybe I'm too European for this, but all this stuff I keep hearing about how packages are handled in the US does not strike me as civilized human behavior.

Keep the hybrid concept in some form, but DON'T make it like a smartphone. People have actual phones for that.

Gorebyss is one of my favorite Gen 3 Pokémon and I had a Milotic on my team back in Ruby. I like that fish from Gen 4 as well.

On the other hand, I dislike the birds precisely because they start showing up immediately and I have to put up with them everywhere, and the Rattata equivalents are even worse. I hated all of them that came after Gen 3.

The mountains/walls need to be MUCH higher.

If shipping and customs didn't effectively double the price, I'd consider it. Really wish they had cheaper shipping options available.

That never worked here even back when people knew what a 3DS was.

The Splaton 3 icons run until January 10, so there should still be at least one new wave next Wednesday/Thursday.

Some people really take it personally that not everything is about the holiday they celebrate.

If they don't want to sell me a physical edition, I can wait until they're 50% off in a few years.

As long as we don't get back to the overkill that was Pokémon on the (3)DS where even default names were occasionally banned online...

Though I was surprised when I saw Gallade named B**** Boy in Shield, I thought that was a fairly obvious one to ban.

I just hope people are over their weird hatred for Shiver that unfortunately affected matches in the last Splatfest. There's no way I'll not pick spicy food.

Guess I'll have to wait and see if they get a more widespread release then, since the EU stores don't seem to have waiting lists.

I'm sure reducing the rate at which things required to play the game are obtained will make people want to play the game.

There isn't usually much of a difference between versions except exclusive Pokémon and sometimes changes (like different gym leaders in Sword/Shield) that don't have much of an impact on the overall game. I don't know how much the past/future theme affects things here, but I would recommend the one with the cover legendary your son likes more, since you'll be seeing it qute a lot while traveling around. Maybe the uniform too, you cannot actually change to different clothes, just accessories like hats and shoes.

If he doesn't have an option to trade with other people (either online or friends with a different version) you may want to take the exclusive Pokémon into account as well.

Eh, the song is okay-ish at best, but how many times does it play in the game that it warrants a mod to remove it? I'd assume it's played in something like the intro sequence or a similar one-time cutscene (I haven't played the game but I can't imagine they'd use a vocal song as regular bgm)

I need those scars. The split eyebrow doesn't accurately represent the damage my messed up little agent is supposed to have.

I din't know what it was about Trio of Towns, but that game just completely failed to grab me. I enjoyed A New Beginning and the first Story of Seasons a lot, but Trio... maybe it's subjectively better written, but even after two seasons I felt nothing about the characters or story.

I haven't played the other games, but the first Bravely Default already had the option to download random people once a day if you couldn't use Streetpass.
