The Splaton 3 icons run until January 10, so there should still be at least one new wave next Wednesday/Thursday.

Some people really take it personally that not everything is about the holiday they celebrate.

If they don't want to sell me a physical edition, I can wait until they're 50% off in a few years.

As long as we don't get back to the overkill that was Pokémon on the (3)DS where even default names were occasionally banned online...

Though I was surprised when I saw Gallade named B**** Boy in Shield, I thought that was a fairly obvious one to ban.

I just hope people are over their weird hatred for Shiver that unfortunately affected matches in the last Splatfest. There's no way I'll not pick spicy food.

Guess I'll have to wait and see if they get a more widespread release then, since the EU stores don't seem to have waiting lists.

I'm sure reducing the rate at which things required to play the game are obtained will make people want to play the game.

There isn't usually much of a difference between versions except exclusive Pokémon and sometimes changes (like different gym leaders in Sword/Shield) that don't have much of an impact on the overall game. I don't know how much the past/future theme affects things here, but I would recommend the one with the cover legendary your son likes more, since you'll be seeing it qute a lot while traveling around. Maybe the uniform too, you cannot actually change to different clothes, just accessories like hats and shoes.

If he doesn't have an option to trade with other people (either online or friends with a different version) you may want to take the exclusive Pokémon into account as well.

Eh, the song is okay-ish at best, but how many times does it play in the game that it warrants a mod to remove it? I'd assume it's played in something like the intro sequence or a similar one-time cutscene (I haven't played the game but I can't imagine they'd use a vocal song as regular bgm)

I need those scars. The split eyebrow doesn't accurately represent the damage my messed up little agent is supposed to have.

I din't know what it was about Trio of Towns, but that game just completely failed to grab me. I enjoyed A New Beginning and the first Story of Seasons a lot, but Trio... maybe it's subjectively better written, but even after two seasons I felt nothing about the characters or story.

I haven't played the other games, but the first Bravely Default already had the option to download random people once a day if you couldn't use Streetpass.

I just wish HD remasters in general would go a little less overboard with the added effects.

I just wish there was a way to remove specific lockers from being displayed in my game. I'd like to see a few creative ones, having the same Moai heads with glasses and robot mascot things take up 80% of my locker room is just boring.

As someone who skipped a handful of consoles because I can't justify buying them for just one or two games that appeal to me, I always appreciate it when those games get remasters for a console I do own.

And if I don't want to pay full price, there's always ways around that too.

That said, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are the only Zelda games I don't own/can't play legally, so that'd be nice.

The egg throwing mechanic sounds less useful than I expected, but I still hope it stops people from egg camping the whole round.

It doesn't even matter if the story in SWSH is good or bad, because you don't get to be part of it. Every time something moderately interesting happens, you get a bunch of NPCs swooping in and telling you to just continue your challenge. Makes me wonder if the people responsible for this know what "protagonist" means.

XY just felt like they were making a gen 1 remake and halfway through the game someone remembered that games have stories, then they slapped on a half-baked exposition textbox with a giant old man model and called it a day.

I could keep up pretty well with just the site missions and Mario Run, as long as we got AC and one other game every month and a special game every other. Now we'll likely have two special months in a row thanks to Splatoon, and next year we'll lose the 30 weekly points from logging into the eShop... and I really can't dedicate more phone space and time to the bigger games. I can only hope they'll slow down again eventually.

At least the Splatoon demo should count as another 100 point mission.

Sounds nothing like a Pokemon battle theme, but at least it sounds enjoyable and doesn't make me want to turn the sound off like the one he did for SwSh.

I also prefer everything in Scarlet except the legendary, and I REALLY like Miraidon :/

It's probably unlikely that the average person hits the limit, but considering the outcries every time a digital store closes or something gets delisted, "just delete games" isn't really the ideal solution.

I'm at 626 icons right now and plenty of those are demos I can delete at some point, but still.

Wherever this magical place "almost anywhere" is, I'd like to move there. They seem to have phenomenal internet there.

This wouldn't be an issue if Fire Emblem games just gave you eShop access from the title screen like any other game.

Take notes of everything that looks interesting to you and nothing will get lost no matter what hype announcement they throw at you.

I like watching announcements without knowing what they are. Anything else just isn't all that interesting.

Say what you will about those games, but most of their German voice acting was legitimately good.

I was super excited for Live A Live and now I can't even care there's a demo for it, that's how happy this announcement makes me. Now hopefully it does well enough that we get the other games too.

Was just a matter of time.

Sounds like it was initially refused a rating (which isn't quite the same as being banned) but as of now, it's available on the eShop, rated USK18. I'm not sure if anything has been altered/censored, the shop on the console lists a much later June 2019 release, but the rating is higher than the standard USK16 for this type of game.

If it's banned in Germany, someone hasn't told the German eShop yet. Looks perfectly purchaseable to me.

To my knowledge none of these games involving schoolgirls have been banned here, usually they don't even get a mature rating like their NA counterparts.

If a game forces me to continuously grind or miss out on content, I'll pass, real money transactions or not. The rest just makes this one extra bad.

There's being uninformed about the finer details of gaming and there's low comprehension of how technology works, but please don't tell me anyone genuinely believed a device will "burst into flames" and "melt" and "shoot parts across the room" 😟

I honestly preferred not having a bunch of friend icons clutter the screen.

The boy has got to be the most boring trainer design I've ever seen, and now the girl got dragged into that too. Hopefully both will get good and varied customization options this time around.

As for the cat, I don't understand the obsession with perfect symmetry and likely never will.

I like this. I'd like it more if it was possible to earn enough coins to get everything without playing one of the mobile games, so hopefully old icons come back at some point.

Gold coins are free credit and you'd be surprised how many people selling their used games didn't redeem them.

I just hope they'll circle back in like the badges on 3DS. Not sure if it's possible to earn enough points to keep up with weekly changes and several hundred Animal Crossing characters (and just wait until they get to Pokemon...)

It's not like platinum points are needed for anything else, the missions barely take any effort, and judging by the AC icons there's a decent chance to get access to avatars of less popular chatacters if you happen to have more obscure favorites. Seems like the only real problem with it is that it isn't the other things people want?

Funny they said that because I was interested before, but battle passes are the second fastest way to kill my entire interest in a game and spit on its grave.
