I'd prefer they ditch Hyrule Field completely and make a proper overworld instead. Becauae regardless of stuff to do, a big hub place with neatly separated areas tacked on still feels way too artificial.
None of the first two thirds of the reveals really interested me, and by the time things started to pick up I had already lost focus. The Switch 1 era Directs did a better job holding my attention throughout the whole thing. Though the only part that really annoyed me was dragging out that thumb game so much.
At the time Kingdom Hearts was first announced I would've been happy about it, but now that everything SE does is a game key card, I don't see much of a reason to pick a full price collection over the much cheaper PS4 one that doesn't need an overpriced special memory card. Portability isn't that important.
The OoT remake... nice, but as a not-fan of that specific game I need to see actual gameplay nd world design before I can have a proper opinion. Hopefully they give it a real overworld this time.
So, there were some games I put on my list, but it was not a particularly exciting Direct experience.
Oh right, I forgot about that. I don't like having to make those company-specific accounts so I tend to ignore them when they're optional, but I guess I'm willing to make one exception in this case 😀
There's no upgeade for Crawlers, you just get the Switch 2 version for free when you buy the Switch 1 version.
I hope Survivors gets an actual upgrade. I wouldn't even mind buying the DLC again so much, but I need my savefile to be compatible. It's way too late to start over.
After the Tomodachi hype, Amazon here in Germany is already back to lowering the prices (Splatoon Raiders is currently listed for 55.99€). If not before release, the price usually drops some time after. There are very few games I need to have so badly I can't wait for a few weeks.
I like not immediately knowing what a trailer is for, and only Directs do that. Directs are more of a "get in the mood for announcements" thing too, as opposed to app notifications that I just swipe away without reading 95% of the time.
NA is more in line with traditional covers and works better as that, but it wouldn't have caught my attention the way the EU one did by standing out in a sea of the same old traditional covers everywhere.
@shiningpikablu252 After the FF7 remake being a key card, there's absolutely no way they're doing proper physical for this one (though I personally think physical + additional download would be a good compromise for games that are literally too big for the cards). Between games generally being bigger, far fewer physical options, and the SD card prices, even people who really wnat to play this game will have to consider whether it's worth or even possible to let this game take up so much space.
I know I would love to play it, but unless card prices go down really fast, I may not be able to anytime soon.
Apparently it's not an upgrade, but you get the Switch 2 version as a separate game for 100% off after buying the Switch 1 version. Might be important to know in case you were planning on sharing save files between consoles.
@tho_mi I haven't heard anything about cross saves, but since VS supports it and they already have the account system in place, I don't see why they wouldn't add it at some point.
"Why spoilers if there's no plot" because I'm fairly sure not all features will be unlocked from the start and I for one like to discover them myself while playing.
The physical preorder situation has been terrible here though so I have to wait until the 20th.
I got a Switch 2 last month because of a very good deal, and of all the things I could possibly like about it (besides Dreamlight Valley finally running like a normal game again) it's the ability to connect wireless headphones from the quick menu instead of having to dig into the settings that stands out as one of the most significant improvements to me. And I'm not even bothered by having to press the power button on the device itself because I don't have a Switch 2 controller.
I think the main takeaway is "Fans assuming more of a Watsonian reality than Nintendo intends is not new"
To be fair, this can be very fun, but I don't know why people always have to bother the creators about it. They didn't think about it as much as you do.
In any case, "theories" are mostly fanfiction for people who don't have the guts to call it fanfiction because they think that's for girls (derogatory).
That's the difference between translation and localization, and if he thinks this is lacking, someone needs to show him those manga fan translations from the early 2000s. Those lack everything except the literal meaning of the words.
@molkom I did. Decently fun if you were into coordinating outfits, but collecting items from other players online was sort of a requirement if you didn't want to spend ungodly amounts of time making them yourself to have things to choose from for your outfits in the firsf place. I more or less forgot there even was an offline mode at all.
Style Savvy is leagues better in just about every imaginable aspect and I hope they'll go back to making more of these.
As long as they stopped making certain mons unusable online because of their actual names... but I do hope it's only full words they block this time. The inability to use the name Viola was ridiculous, especially in Gen 6 which had a gym leader named Viola.
Sorry to the Dicks of this world, but I am glad they aren't oversensitive about hell this time.
Switch stays. Even if I get a Switch 2, I'm not paying half the console price for a memory card on top of it just to be able to port over my existing collection, especially not with how big S2 games get.
I liked it until I noticed how much DLC doesn't show up on the app wishlist (the Switch shows it just fine). Not much point in using an incomplete list.
The poor box didn't stand a chance against the artbook. Though I'm not sure if someone mishandled the package or if it was just subject to some unlucky forces while in a moving vehicle. That book is heavy.
One thing I remember about the original was the feeling of actually being stranded all on your own, and that never completely went away, and the entire place was hostile. Co-op goes entirely against that. And the aesthetic is the kind that just screams "I'm a video game" in the worst way, so any atmosphere and immersion seems dead on arrival as well.
Just... the opposite of what the original game was.
Chatting in games never appealed to me and never will. Hopefully it won't become an expectation or I'll rethink playing games online at all. I even muted that part of the trailrr after a few monutes because all the talking got unbearable.
My OLED is the Zelda one,but as someone who paid extra for the Splatoon joycons when my default ones started drifting too much, I'd love that for the Switch 2. (Not that Germany will ever offer something customizable...)
I'm pretty sure this is meant for when Little Timmy accesses the games on your Switch with his own. No one who borrows the console they're on would think to ignore the home menu in plain sight and go into the virtual card menu instead.
I'm not that interested in sharing games, but hopefully doing away with the primary/secondary system means that whenever I get a Switch 2 in the future, I can keep using both systems without one being subject to online check nonsense.
If they do something meaningful with it. But I can't help but think of the DS era and how you could tell when a game was designed for the touchscreen functionality and when they just shoehorned it in because it was the shiny new thing and it was pointless at best and made the game worse than it would've been with normal controls at worst. I'm already side-eyeing the Bravely Default remaster for the "minigames" mentioned in the trailer.

Re: Final Fantasy Resonance Returns To Turn-Based Battles With HD-2D Visuals
The "summon heroes from other games" gimmick gets used way too often for my taste. Not a dealbreaker, but I feel very eh about it.

If it has the same free trial as other platforms and I don't have to delete every other game in existence to make it fit, sure.

The real question is how much space it'll take up. Those express cards are still too expensive.
